Tbh i always tried to avoid harem animes because of how boring they are: not because of the story itself, but it's always the same climax. you have either a lazy or lonely MC with charms and looks that the girls he encounters falls for and he make he's "own little harem" with all the ecchi scenes that feels weird and uncomfortable. Or the popular guy who the girls fall for, usually a creepy pervert that don't have a life. In the two cases it's just normal ecchi/harem animes without any interesting plot.

I think i would attribute the quintessential quintuplets to the third type of harem, that i just created. And that type is "how harem's should be". 

This harem is by far the best i've watched! like really:

-no fan-service (sometimes there are some scenes but nothing unjustified or that feels unconfortable or out of place)

-the characters are just greeat: each with it's personnality (especially the quintuplets) and with an own story, secrets and facade that just makes them unique in their own way

-the animation is beautiful: i personally don't give too much importance to animation when it comes to slice of life, romance or comedy shows as nothing is really important animating (fight scenes or heavy face expressions) is in, but the chara design is simply beautiful and the animation and backgrounds are great

-the sounds are great (the op is cute)

i give it a 9.5/10, and this is only when i still haven't started season 2
