I’m a picky person, i like every third anime i watch, even if it’s popular, i may not like it at all. I’m not the kind of person who likes an anime because it’s popular, but because it has personality, not like the majority of the ones people like on this site or elsewhere, although there are some that are popular and that i really like, because: they have personality.
I live in Belgium and the anime/manga i’ve seen/read (at least the ones i liked) are not popular and not familiar to us compared to the US and other countries, so I’m proud to know these anime/manga.
You must think i’m an elitist, which is totally wrong because i like some anime that are totally rotten and i hate some that you consider as “masterpieces”. [Like Konosuba, SNK or Evangelion, and many others].
In fact, if i have a good time in front of it, i’ll like it, it’s not complicated, it’s not because it has a score of 8.00 that it will necessarily be good, the problem with scores is that they influence your mind, if there was no score system, many anime would be much more appreciated and seen. But no, we prefer to do like everyone else and not have a critical mind to join the herds and feel integrated to a community of idiots.
For me, people who do not think outside the box, do not deserve to proclaim themselves fans of anime, nor even otaku (that word sucks i think), even i cannot proclaim myself that way because i have no not seen enough anime to say that i know the animation world, there is still so much to discover.
I’m not very social and anyway i’m not here for that, it’s just to have a follow-up of what i watch and to discover other animes.
