Just your average anime enjoyer, ratings are based on enjoyment rather than the "objective" quality of a show, but sometimes my critical opinions may leak into my overall thoughts on something. I try not to drop shows I've started since I'm a bit of a completionist, but sometimes it ends up shining light on a show I might've gone thinking was terrible if I hadn't finished it.
I like romance / drama and avoid longer series since I binge watch everything. I also rewatch shows frequently since I'm pretty forgetful.

As far as anime go, I have been watching it off and on since 2016, though the past couple years are when I really started getting hooked. The first anime I watched was Senran Kagura of all things. In retrospect, it wasn't a very good show, but I enjoyed it enough at the time to give other anime a shot.

My favorite animes have changed a lot over the years, but as of now my favorite favorite anime is the recently released 86: Eighty-Six. I honestly didn't think I'd enjoy the show as much as I did when hearing about it, but the characters and their dynamic really made it for me. The animation and sound are also stunning, I find myself listening to the opening and ending on a regular basis. I'd recommend it if you need something to watch, but I acknowledge it might not be for everyone.
I'm purchasing the light novels soon so I'll definitely be reading those soon c:

I've not read much manga, manhwa, or the likes, but everything I've read thus far I've really loved. And that especially goes for my favorite piece of media of all time, the Adachi and Shimamura light novels. The plot is fairly basic, and there are definitely flaws (a certain blue-haired side character). However the two progonists, are the best written, most relatable characters I have ever stumbled across. The feelings and problems these characters face are so complex and though-provoking, even if it might seem simple on the surface, it's so human than I almost feel like I'm listening back to things I used to think or worry about in the exact same manner or attitude. The story is slow, very slow, the first few volumes are dedicated solely to character development which leads up to the fluffy, romantic, and sometimes dramatic relationship between Adachi and Shimamura.
I watched the anime before I read the light novels, and it was pretty unsatisfying. It missed out on a lot of what made the light novels so amazing, which was the character depth, and the parts where things start happening. Nothing really happens in the shows because it's focused on the first few volumes which, as I mentioned earlier, were dedicated solely to charater building, which can be difficult to compress into a 12 episode series. Though it really doesn't do the light novels any justice.
Regardless, I love these light novels to bits, there are currently 10 volumes, all of which are translated thanks to Sneikkimies who just finished recently and has a website to read all of them for free, what a legend. The books themselves are currently being translated and published by Seven Seas Entertainment, with the 10th volume being released in January of 2023. The author stated they had plans for 12 volumes, which I will most definitely be looking forward to in the future. I cannot recommend this more.

I've never been good at the whole profile-building thing, but know I'm always looking for recommendations and people to talk to! Don't be shy if you want to talk c:

Totally agree. I hate criticising my favorite movies, shows, and games because I feel it ruins the experience for me when I return to them. I also can't really put into words what my favorite media means to me and why I love them and yet I can really delve deep into why I hate my least favorite pieces of media.
Found you from your comment on Nana and your profile is pretty interesting! I relate to how you rate things because I always try and rate things based on enjoyment but after consuming media and seeing criticisms for so long some critical opinions can sneak in there.
