Hi, yes, Erased is good, although not perfect, I added my comments on this list, let me know what you think when you finish it.

I haven't watch ID:invaded & I Want to Eat Your Pancreas yet, they are on my want to watch list and both look very promising.

I didn't like Your Name. it has great animation but lots of plotholes and an incoherent story. I'm all about the story, I can put with the worst animation like in Kingdom & Berserk as long as there is a good story to tell, but don't care much about animes that are just eye candy, without substance. I also value innovation a lot more over a tried and safe storyline.

I prefer to watch and enjoy genres like sci-fi, fantasies, psychological, action, suspense, thrillers, seinen, etc. I do watch romcoms but only when I don't have anything better. I do have love is war on my want to watch list, but I'll probably won't be watching it until much later. For romcoms and comedy in general, I think you just have to try a few episodes, comedy is very hard to rate, some make you laugh and some don't, I never know until I'm a few episodes in.

One of my favorites thrillers/supernatura/psichological/philosophical anime is From the New World, a lot of people classify it as sci-fi although technically there is very little "science fiction" in it, as everyone is an esper and they use those powers, not technology. But it's truly an excellent plot. The story is quite dark, a mind-bending experience, so I'm not sure if you like stories like that? It deals with the dark side of humanity a lot.

I also love Kokkoku: Moment by Moment, this has an excellent setting, again is perhaps more supernatural than sci-fi. But they really dropped the ball with the ending, it seems like deux ex machina filler material, so a lot of people hate it because of that. As I mention, I value innovation and the journey was incredible, even if they mess up the end.

For true sci-fi, I've been watching Legend of the Galactic Heroes, which has a lot of strategies & tactics based on real life wars. I found it very interesting, this is another type of show I like a lot. I prefer shows that make you think over comedy, I guess I'm a more serious person in that regard.

My favorite sci-fi of all time is Ghost in the Shell, a very intelligent story with plenty of philosophical & psychological themes to go through. But it's quite serious, think Fate/Zero serious plot.

Steins;Gate is another great sci-fi with an innovative way to deal with time travel. This one is more light-hearted in the sense that there is more comedy but still has plenty of thrills and there are moments where the story goes really dark. It includes some romance as well.

Noein is another great sci-fi, this story is probably easier to get into. It deals with parallel worlds & time travel and based on real life hypothesis of parallel universes.

Eden of the East is a good romcom with sci-fi, a thrilling plot that is quite intelligent in the way they resolve the problems they face.

And Tiem of Eve, an excellent sci-fi with lots of comedy, but that really delivers on the sci-fi part. This one deals with Androids & Artificial Intelligence (as implied by the name). I cannot recommend this one enough, it's a hidden gem! The movie is the same as the TV series, just all episodes together, so any version you can find will be good.

Let me know which ones you like best and we can discuss the plot once you finish watching them if you are up to it.

About Attack on Titan, I'm kind of a black sheep, I guess, because I dropped it at the first season after 14 episodes since I didn't feel involved with the story nor with the characters xD

About Banana Fish, no, it isn't a Yaoi, in fact it is classified as a Shoujo (a very atypical one, but still a Shoujo xD), and even though it is implied that the two main characters are romantically involved with each other (it was confirmed by the author herlself and clearly affirmed by Eiji in the last chapter of the manga which, unfortunately, wasn't animated ç_ç) their relationship remain platonic till the very end... It has Shounen-Ai vibes, but it never becomes explicit... There is only a kiss between them but there is a purpose behind it so it isn't even a romantic kiss xD By the way, even though I really recommend you most of all the manga (it's a cult and a must read), the anime is really good too, in particular because they managed to include every important part and all the manga's narrative's arcs... I loved everything about this manga/anime: the story, the plot twists, the mysteries, the characters, the relationships between them, the emotions, the setting... Everything is special and unique and different from any other show you will see... Watching it is an emotional rollercoaster, and it culminates in an unforgettable ending which strikes ritght to the heart... I think it's one of best manga ever written and one of the best anime of the last years... Also, if you watch it, I recommend reading the extra chapter Garden of Light, because it is the real ending of the story but it wasn't put in the anime, unfortunately ç_ç

Hi xOriginalGirlx,

I didn't realize you were in Australia until now, lol. Here there were no activities that I'm aware of and I myself rather stay home watching anime :)

Yes, F/0 is the best installment. F/SN is better in my opinion than the other installments, like Extra, Apocrypha, Kaleid & Grand Order; but not as good as F/0.

I think The Garden of Sinners is closer to the bleak look & suspense of F/0 than other Fate installments. It is a different theme though.

Hi

If you finish watching the Fate/Series and are looking for something similar then you can try:

The Garden of Sinners - Watching Guide

"As one of Kinoko Nasu's earliest works, it introduces some of the most fundamental concepts in the universe of Type-Moon's works, including souls, the Akashic Record/Root, Counter Force, Magic, Magecraft, and Mystic Eyes.

Kara no Kyōkai is set in an alternate universe to Tsukihime and Fate/Stay Night; in which it serves as the prototype for both series as well as introducing many of the concepts prevalent within the latter two." -Wikipedia

Tsukihime is average at best, so I cannot recommend it.

The Garden of Sinners:

Also known as "Kara no Kyōkai" this movie series has excellent animation & an intriguing supernatural story with something meaningful to say. Make sure you watch to the end of each movie.

Hi xOriginalGirlx, Happy Independence Day!

F/Zero is probably the best, but the story starts in Night, with some kids that get dragged into the war without any idea of what they were really getting into. In Zero the protagonists are professionals that had years to prepare for the war, so yes, they are quite different thanks to the premise. I enjoy both of them for different reasons, but my favorites are Zero & Unlimited Blade Works, in that order. Unfortunately, the rest of the installments never regain the level of these 2, at least for my perspective.

Norgami is very good, I can't wait for a 3rd season and if you enjoy S1 you'll definitely like S2. I think S2 is better than S1, but in part is because we already know the characters, so it goes more into the main story. It left things open for S3, which has not happened yet.
