First I would like to state that I would state that I read the novel this was based on before I saw the movie, which is the main reason why I'm not a big fan of this. Howl's Moving Castle is not the best Studio Ghibli film, but it's not the worst. The main reason I find this movie terrible is because they added in the war. I understand that Hayao Miyazaki did not agree with the US invasion of Iraq (which is the reason they were included) but I think it could have been done much better. OH STARCLAN HELP ME.  I absolutely hate this anime. I know that's quite strong, but I just really think it's much too overrated and bad. This show tries to convey a deeper meaning to many magical girl tropes and I think it does it poorly. This series is only 12 episodes long which was not enough time to show off its world and magical girls. I did not feel anything during any of the deaths because a lot of the characters were poorly developed. I first heard about Tokyo Mew Mew on Miiverse. A lot of people said "Oh, that was my first anime!" and "Oh, I loved that when I was nine!" So, being the huge magical girl fan I am, I decided to borrow the manga from my library and watch the anime. This was my first least-favorite anime/manga.
