Death Note

Jun 29, 2022

Compliments:

The premise of Death Note is intruiging in itself, the idea of being able to kill anyone by writing their name. The show manages to keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time with Light Yagami, a teenage sociopath with a god complex, being persued by the world's best detective, who's alias is L. Overall I strongly enjoyed it amd recommend it, especially to those who are new to anime.

Criticism (with spoilers):

I've watched it three times over the years, but never past episode 25. In my opinion, the entire saga should have ended there. However it continued for an additional twelve episodes and entire second season for some reason even though the entire intruige of the show is the psychological conflict between L and Light Yagami. I immediately lost interest after this dynamic was complete, and the lame attempt to replace L with little lookalike N into the story didn't have the same affect.

Misa Misa as a character is entirely terrible. I wish there could have been a stronger female character in the lead like the wife of Raye Penber. Watching Misa Amane is unbearable for everyone it seems.

9/10 story
