Allright. It's been a while since I've done something like this so bear with me as I try to find my way again.I did quite a lot of them in the past on a different website which you can find here: http://legendsofsatura.net/index.php/forum125/6-reviewing-guild.html

....They probably aren't very good though but please do stop by if you have the time and inclination. Originally the site was for writers, mostly original but also fanfiction.

Also I'm Dutch so there will be spelling errors. If you find them annoying give me a shout and I'll try to fix them.

Oh, I will try to keep spoilers to a minimum but there will be some. Usually the worse I rate an anime the more spoilers this will contain. You have been warned

So, you have probably already read what the animation is about in the discription given by Anime-Planet, which is the same as on the box. I will therefore try not go into the story that much unless I'm ranting about something (spoilers).

ART: For a series that is from 2000 it looks surprisingly dated. I was actually surprised when I looked it up at how recent the series is. This does not mean that the animation is bad though it just looks that way since most people are used to the more modern computer enhanced art that is used today. The animation manages to get its point across just fine.

SOUND: No real complaints here. The music supports the anime and sound effects gets its point across with no problems.

Voice acting is quite good with everyone doing their best. I like the fact that Ceres and Aya are actually 2 different voice actors. This does not only give her completely different voices but different characters as well. This is as it should be as they are completely different characters.

CHARACTERS: Main character is Aya for whom life was good. She was a member of a ancient and powerful clan and her future was assured. She is very carefree and likes to do things with her friends. The one she cares most about though is her twin brother, Aki.

Aki is Aya's twin brother and, in some ways, her shadow as he always supports her in any way he can. When she is sentenced to death he is very much against it for obvious reasons.

Although sentenced to death there is some dissent in the main family regarding Aya and because of that she is given a bodyguard in the form of Toya. Although a complete mistery he and Aya come to care for each other deeply and he is one of the few people capable of containing Ceres.

Ceres is an ancient and powerful being who has reincarnated into the female line of Aya's family. Every time she was reborn she was immediately killed by the clan untill Aya. Although they share the same body they are completely different people who sound and even look different. as a celestial being she wields great power and her greatest wish is to destroy Aya's clan, especially Aki.

STORY: On their 16th birthday, Aya and Aki, are submitted to a ritual at their grandfathers house. Aya failes the test which results in Aki becoming badly injured. Not knowing what is going on she loses it and Ceres takes over her body, destroying a large part of the compound and escaping. On the run from her family she must uncover what the deal is with her family and find out the truth regarding Ceres.

If I were to describe this anime in terms of genre I would have to say that it is an action anime with many dramtic and romantic tones. The drama comes from Aya and her family, Aki in particular. The action is the fight between Ceres/Aya and the clan. The romance is Aya and Toya and it is persistent through the anime. I found the romance to be the weakest link though and this is mainly due to Toya being a piece of wood. You could literally replace him with a piece of wood in some parts of the anime and it would change nothing. The guy rarely shows any emotion in the anime and only slowly opens up to Aya. I know what the creators were going for with this but it leaves you with this incredible bland character for most of the anime. Oh, and he's the Dues ex Machina of the show so there is that too.
