The Suffering of Local Knight Hans shows the story of Hans, a war hero in a medieval fantasy world, whose rather simple life in a village at the border of the kingdom gets disrupted due to the appearance of multiple Japanese people with rather extreme abilities.

The plot is rather simple, and mostly uses the appearance of a new Japanese  or a foreign threat to keep the story going. This makes the story rather predictable at times and dull at others, while just being barely good enough to keep being entertained.

The thing that makes the manga more readable is the character interactions. The characters are all quite fun to see, and there's a wide variety of archetypes that aren't too cliché amongst them.

Sadly the manga seems to have gotten axed or something, leaving the the real villains behind the scenes unexplored and the "final boss" of the manga (who was probably supposed to be a mid-boss) is quite lame .

The art also isn't too great. Most of the time it's a simple style, with the artist only going all-out on some of the spreads (huge dragon spread woooh!!) and of course on some of the more "fan servicey" pages...

It's still fun for what it is, and gets a 6/10 from me.

5/10 story
6/10 art
7/10 characters
6/10 overall
