Hajime's voice and character made me want to kill her.

a quick summary, really cool premise, really bad execution

on another note Gatachaman crowds was . . . .weird to say the least.  The opening theme was spunky and cool, it really got my hopes up, but you cant judge a book by its cover.
Unlike "gargantia on the verdurous planet", Gatchaman crowds was not able to fully utilize all of the many concepts that it brought in.  I use"gargantia on the verdurous planet" because it did so extremely well.  Now apparently there was an original Gatchaman series, but I am judging this one based on itself.  I dont think you need to see the original to see this one.  There just was not enough here.  They are super heros and then they go have fun at a preschool, or go talk about something stupid while making collages on a train.  There was not enough solid good content to make this worth watching.  Now I say that, but like I said it looked like it really could have been good.  The opening looked intruiging and the concepts of some of the characters seemed like they could become important and really cool, but they were never really built up.  I guess they tried to build up too many things to give enough attention to one thing in 12 episodes.  

Honestly I wanted to see more Sugune and Jou fighting as Gatchaman, they were really cool when they got serious.  in the last 2 episodes when they all transformed it was really cool too.  They did a good job of the transformations.  They were all really cool, but that is not enough to save this anime.

Story:  it was only 12 episodes, which did not help story building or character building.  It was not big enough to satisfy me at all.  I wanted to know more about the aliens that were gatchaman.  how did they get to this place, what happened to their planet.  What is the dispair that they feel.  Not good enough.  6

Animation: animation was good.  It looked cool and different, much like the monogatari series.  I like seeing stuff like that.  It was neat and it worked.

Sound:  Hajime's voice.  That annoying b*tch. . . . it was too much. . . for any anime.  Everything else was great, some really epic music, some really funny music,  good op ending.  Dat voice though.  That is why I give it an 8 rather then a 9

Characters: Hajime is a big reason for the 6 here.  She was percieved to be this all important person who is young stupid and knows f***ing everything.  whether you believe in God or not just try to follow along in the context of this anime.  JJ was this God, and then Hajime shows up and talks like she is actually God and knows everything about everything.  One of the things I hate most in an anime are those charcters that are built up to be soooo fricking amazing.  But what you have to realize is that all people have flaws and so it really hurts the anime when they create a character like that.  Some examples of what I mean are:

Shimada Kambei, Gai Tsutsugami, some of the Evangelion Characters, ect

something about these characters seems out of place or glorified.  Like that is the kind of person the writer wants to be but then the characters is perfect.  

so yeah, I could rant on and on about that topic but ill leave it there.  There was not enough building in terms of the other characters, sure there was some, but I would have loved more of it.  Screw Hajime, she was annoying as hell and percieved to  be more then I think she was.

Overall:  It looked good at first, but then didnt deliver at all.  I would have loved to see more building in the plot, and then more epic fighting.  Like I said before the transformations were really cool and the characters seemed so much cooler when they did actually transform.  I dont mean seeing it every episode like in Heroic Age, that was too much, but at the right times and with a different plot this really could have been something cool.  I was dissappointed.  its a 6 so I cant recommend this one to you.
