standalonefrank says...  I'm not watching my lately, but i am trying to watch Free!! I'm also watching Noragami Aragoto, Fairy Tail and One-Punch Man as new episodes come out.  I was thinking of giving Tokyo Ghoul another go. I just need to get past the constant crying of Kaneki.

\r\n

Actually, the beginning of Tokyo Ghoul with Kaneki crying all the time was justified and a bit of brilliant character development as it really shows how Kaneki feels as he watches himself become a ghoul.  Later, there is just as much Kaneki crying and he doesn't have the good excuse anymore...  I personally thought that Tokyo Ghoul was great at the beginning and became more disappointing as it went along...  so I wouldn't get my hopes up too high if I were you if you didn't even like the start!

\r\n

I have only seen a couple of Noragami episodes, need to get back into that...  I enjoyed Free! and S2 of it as well, but didn't see/looked past the supposed "fanservice" for the girls.  It's a swimming anime with male leads - are they supposed to never show their bare skin?  Does every instance have to be considered fanservice????  It just burns me up when uninformed opinionated folks scream about all the yaoi in the show and all the fanservice for the females, when really, one can watch it without seeing ANY of it.  It's only there if you are looking to find it - then you can see and read whatever you want into it.  Sheesh! Some people!

\r\n

Just started watching Fairy Tail again. The first time I tried to watch it, I didn't like it so much because it seemed like a silly fantasy shounen that was going to be the Posted Job Battle of the Day each episode.  But I was persuaded to watch more as I was promised some character development and more plot than just battle-of-the-day stuff.  And this time around, I -am- actually enjoying it more!

\r\n

Am watching One Punch Man with one of my RL anime clubs, which means I only get to watch a couple episodes a month - slowed down viewing...  I am intrigued by the premise but worried it will become stuck in a one-note rut.  But the series seems to realize this about itself, with Saitama himself realizing the dangers of becoming too one dimensional... so there is hope this series will bring something new to the table.  I can't wait to see what comes next!

Hello Jen and welcome to a-p!  Hope you enjoy your time here. ^_^

\r\n

Saw your post in the forums, and while we can't make personal recommendations in the Forum, we CAN do it here. So I'm going to take a quick look at your anime list and see if I can come up with any suggestions for you.

\r\n

Akame ga Kill! - a bit different from the others I've recommended for you but this one surprised me

\r\n

Fullmetal Alchemist and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood - One of my favorite viewing experiences. They were creating the first series, FMA, while the manga was still being written so while the first part of the series is very similar to the manga, the middle and ending are quite different.  Second series, Brotherhood, was created after the manga series was completed and follows the manga storyline much more closely. However, a lot of the first part of the story was more thoroughly covered in the first series. Since story setup and characters are introduced in the first part of the story, I recommend seeing them both, in chronological order. (I know, it’s a bit of a time investment!)

\r\n

Isshuukan Friends. - it's on your Want to Watch list and I enjoyed it (despite the ending) enough to recommend

\r\n

Laughing Under the Clouds - another show that was a surprise treat for me

\r\n

Lovely Complex - saw this on your Want to Watch list and must recommend - it's my favorite rom-com.

\r\n

Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun - I haven't finished watching this but have been consistently interested and engaged in this!

\r\n

Yona of the Dawn - a historical type adventure

\r\n

Oh, I could just keep on going hahahaha but I'll stop for now. Please feel free to check these out to see if there's any that interest you and if you decide to watch any of them, please let me know what you think and whether or not you enjoyed them.
