As a native Russian speaker I can tell you her last name sounds way more German than Russian! Degtyarev would in that case turn into Degtyareff, there's no Russian last name like "Degurechaff," Russian last names have the "ov/ova" ending or "ev/eva" or "yev/yeva," etc., no "av/ava / aff/affa" (Russian surnames are gendered so male version for instance, would be Degtyarev while female version would be Degtyareva), if Tanya's last name was Russian it would be gendered. This is why I was confused on whether she's supposed to be Russian or German due to her names coming from two different cultures, perhaps she's just inspired by both lol
