For a person that loves Beauty and the Beast, this was something that gave me so many moments of "awwwww".
This is not the same story in a sense, the core might be something similar, but only on the surface. The homage was well used - subtle, but expressive enough to touch a heart of those, who love the Beauty and the Beast.
The story is nothing new, but had a nice spin on it. The child abuse element was also well expressed, the pain and suffering of the children involved.
As someone else has mentioned, logic has been out the window, but it is an animation, and the world does not suffer too much from it.
It was not taking itself too seriously, but it was serious enough to not be a complete tearjerker.
Art was somehow fresh, as the real world wasthe usual 2danimation, but the world inside U was the weird mix between 2d crispnes and 3d flowyness. It worked very well.
Music was nice. I won't say it was spectacular, but it did get stuck in my head.
Overall - it was a very beautiful thing for me to have experienced.
