Sakura Kakumei ~Hana Saku Otome-tachi~

Feb 19, 2021

A spin-off to Sakura Wars, and set seventy years later on from the parent series; based on a mobile game of the same name, like First Order and Fate/Grand Order, so maybe like Fate/Grand Order, we might see more Sakura Revolution anime in the future, especially given all those characters that we are teased in the end credits, but didn't feature in the special itself... on the other hand, the special could just be a one-off. Synopsis The age of steam ended for Japan fifteen years ago when a disaster occurred rendering steam powered devices inert; fortunately a new power source was developed, but... See full review

Digimon Adventure Tri. Movie 5: Coexistence

Dec 31, 2019

As I have this review already written out, I thought I might as well post it, and then I guess I'll post a review for the next movie sometime next year. Was originally going to do this movie and next movie as a double post, as I feel that the two movies are two parts of the same movie... more so than the other movies. So onto the review: Synopsis: When Dark Gennai holds Meiko by the throat, her feet dangling helplessly above the ground, the darkness within Meicoomon takes over once again; the transformation in Meicoomon causes distortions to open up; distortions that lead to the real world - a... Persona: Trinity Soul

Dec 31, 2019

All the series that I've reviewed up until now have been short series or movies, so they've been easy to review in an all-in-one format, but I'm now stepping up my game (unintentional pun), and reviewing a series double the length of those I've reviewed before. Personally I feel the longer the series, the harder it is to review in an all-in-one format, as there's more content to review, but as this series was set in 2019, I thought it was a must to review it... in 2019, and with one day to go, we're getting down to the wire. Was also planning to post reviews for the penultimate and ultimate movies... See full review

Digimon Adventure Tri. Movie 4: Loss

Apr 8, 2019

So, quite a turn of events for me, as originally I thought the next review I'd be posting here, was my Bleach review, but after writing it out, things got in the way, and the posting of that review got put on hold... I'm not even sure I know where I saved that review to... heavens, don't tell me I'm going to have to re-write it! In addition, I have also written out a review for Bakemonogatari, which also includes a brief review of each other part of the Monogatari series, again, that review has found itself to be put on hold, but I know where I've saved my write up of that review to, it's just going back... Cutie Honey Universe

Oct 7, 2018

To celebrate Go Nagai's 50th Anniversary of being a mangaka, Devilman Crybaby was produced, and there has been quite a bit of focus on this, but... one of his other properties also received a new version too; Cutey Honey Universe. Yeah, I know, it's actually Cutie Honey Universe, but when I was aware of Cutey Honey, the series that were around at that time were New Cutey Honey and Cutey Honey Flash, so for me, the series will always be spelt as Cutey Honey. When I was reviewing this series, I hadn't seen all versions of Cutey Honey before Cutey Honey Universe; after this current version... See full review

Fate/Extra: Last Encore

Aug 13, 2018

So I completed the game that spawned this anime... who knows when, I can't actually remember; I do remember it took sometime to complete the second game, although this was because it wasn't released in English; I completed the third game pretty quickly, as that was released in English, but I didn't start that game until I'd completed the second game; a fourth game has been released in Japan, and awaiting western release(s)! OK, so onto the review, however please note, I will be comparing the anime to the game(s) so there will be spoilers for both: Synopsis
We start in the middle of a battle, a... See full review

Devil Survivor 2 The Animation

Aug 6, 2018

Started playing the game before the anime was released, but only just now completed the game, and thus watched the anime; if I think of when I must of started the game, it would have been after the first Devil Survivor game had received its 3DS remake, but before the second Devil Survivor game had received its remake... that would suggest that I have been playing the game that this series is based on for five years!! That said, I believe it was more five years... off and on, as I believe I left playing it for a while, as the amount of grinding I felt I had to do got a bit too teadious; I feel the game... Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo

Jul 1, 2018

So "You Can (Not) Redo" eh? I feel like you're trying to confess something to us Anno; if this is your confession, then yes, I have to agree with you... "You Can (Not) Redo"! After the last Rebuild movie, I thought things might be proceeding on the right track, but this movie shattered that illusion; I have to wonder if Hideaki Anno has a fortune teller machine, to which he continually asks the following question, "Should I wreck Evangelion yet?" I'm not normally a guy for reviews; I'm usually too accepting of things, as someone will say something is trash, and I will... See full review
