The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent 2nd Season

Jan 6, 2024

This one is extremely disappointing to me. I gave the first season 10/10, but this season is a snoozefest. There is absolutely nothing of value in the first two episodes and that is bad. Why have those episodes at all? Starting off with filler is dumb. I don't know if it get's better later on, but it's too boring to continue. No worthwhile dialogue, no humor, no compelling action, no actions of value, not even slice of life feelings to it. You can really feel the minutiae of her life, which is truly horrendous. Even the first action sequence, meant to draw in the audience was just confusing and... See full review

Handyman Saitou in another world

Nov 15, 2023

I genuinely don't know how to feel about this one. There are 6-10 small scenes within each episode itself. Some scenes have no value towards the main story, but are usally funny or certainly entertaining at the very least. I'm very confused by this kind of anime. It's very disjointed. WTF is this?  Confusion aside, most scenes are entertaining. It's just... this whole show feels like a second season, even though it is.  UPDATE: While I almost dropped the show early on, I am glad I didn't. The weirdness capitalized and worked, in its own way. After finishing the show I think I liked it after... See full review

Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation 2nd Season

Nov 13, 2023

Truly a perfect show. There are a lot of things that make this show so good, for me. But the things that really stand out to me are the realistic emtions and expressions that the characters have. Trauma is really well shown here. The mistakes of life are also shown. These characters are more than just 2D images on the screen, they are full and complex lives that we can relate to. The people here that are giving the negative reviews all seems to want more action and stuff happening on screen, but that's not what makes an anime truly good. The weight of the character's decisions are felt in each scene. Even... See full review

Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-kun 3

Nov 5, 2023

This is a hard-made review. I'm gonna skip through most of what I think and get directly to why it's not a 9/10.  The pacing in this season is far, far worse than the other two seasons. The filler content is worthless and honestly makes me sad, because the other seasons had great filler content that was fun and interesting to watch. Most of the Hunting episodes could easily be pushed into 2-3 episodes, by getting rid of the boring nonsense. I'm giving this a 5/10 because I respect and like the rest of the show. But the Hunting arc really disappointed me. I hope this show recovers for season 4... See full review

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel - Northern War

Oct 30, 2023

The animation quality is what got me interested. The characters, dialogue, and story are what made me disinterested. IO usually give an anime a full EP to see if I like it, but this one just hit every red flag over and over. It's exceedingly boring. It's a shame, because it's got some beautifully drawn scenes. It's got potential, but it's just not there for me.

Ranking of Kings: Treasure Chest of Courage

Sep 2, 2023

The culmination of this show and story is wonderful. This "second season" is more of an extra side season filled with stories and explanations that deepen each character's selves. It's great, it really is. You get to learn more about the world and people you grew so attached to in the show.  The last episode even has some progression to the story. If ever I wanted to see more, I OMG DEFINTELY do now!  I sincerely look forward to whatever Ranking of Kings shows me in the future.

The Aristocrat's Otherworldly Adventure: Serving Gods Who Go Too Far

Aug 12, 2023

Ignore the nay-sayers. This anime is truthful about what it is from EP 1 and stays the same way the entire season. It's over the top, because it was made to be over the top. It's silly, funny, slice of life, and the main character is basically a god in a child's body. Honestly, there's a lot wose anime out there. If you're expecting a dark and serious show, this isn't for you. It's very silly, and that's OK. I geniunely hope this one get's another season.

Summoned to Another World for a Second Time

Aug 10, 2023

This show as a whole is fairly good. Ep 1-7 had me interested and I wanted to see more. As the show progressed from there however, things slowly got worse and worse. The last three episodes were trash. The constant "leap-frogging" of the fight scenes is a boring pit that a lot of anime battles fall into. "Oh, I am getting hurt? I'll just power up more. Oh he powered up more? I will power up more again. Oh he is sacraficing life for power? I'll press on through sheer will because anime logic!"  I wish these writers would take more time to design better fight scenes. That guy with... See full review

Black Clover Movie: Sword of the Wizard King

Jun 27, 2023

At first glace, this movie was really good. It had all the things that a Black Clover fan would want to see. It was flashy and it had everything. Until you look closer...  My biggest gripe is how certain powers and their world logic rules were broken just to suit the story.

**warning spoilers incomming**

There are multiple locations where this happened, but the biggest one I can remember is Asta using the wizard sword. Asta cannot use magic, he can't even feel/sense it. That's his entire deal. But somehow, for that scene he was able to feel it, mold it, use it, and mannipulate it into a... See full review

Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts

Jun 22, 2023

This show reminds me of the first season of The Magus' Bride. While there are dark themes lurking around, the focus of the show has a lighter approach. I really like this kind of love story.

This story was a little campy at first, but the growing love between Salfi and The King is just so pure and heartwarming. The situations explain social fear and racism quite well, even though it's less poignant here. More importantly, the story so far has me wanting more. I really hope this show ends well.

Giant Beasts of Ars

May 21, 2023

This one started off pretty interesting, but then it got slow, really slow. The aesthetics of the show are good, but the took far too long with it and then rushed the ending. To be frank, Ep 6-10 were incredibly boring to me. I almost dropped the show. The main antagonist died in the most stupid, nonsense way. I'm guessing there was more explanation elsewhere, but this anime didn't give us any explanation. There were too many directions the story went in that made me question what the hell the story writers were thinking.  Like, there's this Emperor apparently that does a lot of planning and talking... Management of a Novice Alchemist

May 17, 2023

NOTE: I only made it to episode 7. At first it was interesting, but the show puts so much emphasis on unimportant things that it really bogs down the story progression. Then I realized that there isn't much progression because there isn't much story. It's slice of life, VERY slice of life and almost nothing else. It would be nicer if there was humor, but it's weak at best. The characters are cute, and that's all this show has to offer.  I can only recommend this to people without expectations. It wasn't for me, but that doesn't mean you won't like it.

The Reincarnation of the Strongest Exorcist in Another World

May 9, 2023

I was very surprised by this one. It started out well, like a normal Isekai. It had intirgue and power. The imaginitive ways of magic and spells were fun. The summons were terrifying and pleasing alike. But what really makes this show stand out to me is the ending. Most shows of this kind dribble down and out at the end, but this one made me REALLY want to see another season. That twist at the end, how evil Seiki got... it was both disturbing and gratifying. To see him naturally descend into his title was exhilirating. And to know that people inately knew and tried to change fate... I really enjoyed this... See full review

New The Fruit of Evolution: Before I Knew It My Life Had It Made

Apr 21, 2023

This one is pretty disappointing. I was fond enough of season 1, but season 2 did the splits and split right apart at the seams. The plot is garbage. The only thing I liked about the show was destroyed and I couldn't get past Ep 6. I tried, but I started pressing "next 10 seconds" over and over until I was mousing through the episodes.  Sorry, but if you liked the first season, avoid this one and just accept that the show ended at the first season.

In Another World With My Smartphone

Apr 21, 2023

So, for the most part I enjoyed the show. The echi scenes were really cringy, which definitely threw me off. I liked the world building, but there's a lot this show left to be desired. It's like they wasted time to fill out more episodes.  I wish these shows would focus less on the harem thing and have more story and growth. Even if they absolutely have to have only female side characters, at least make them more interesting than just aspiring wives. Ugh, it's just so boring when there isn't anything but that one trope. That being said, there are other shows that do it right. This show just isn't a... See full review

Kaina of the Great Snow Sea

Apr 13, 2023

This show started out very strong. The world building and story concepts were truly immense. Very interesting and held my attention. But after about 5 episodes everything went downhill so fast, it spiralled and just exploded into nonsense. It's like the producer was changed out or something.  Over all, I am very disappointed by the stupid ending. In fact, the last 5 episodes make very little sense and spend more time on things they don't need to. The last episode especially has a bunch of story choices and fixations that make no sense. It's possible the manga was more explorative into the story, but... See full review

It's two soft core sex scenes. No story to speak of, just sex with the same woman. Not great, either. Just a boring sex scene.  On the plus side, the animation and lighting are top notch.

Love Flops

Mar 3, 2023

The premis of this show is beyond stupid. The leaps of judgement, the gaps in the story that we are supposed to just accept as fine, even just the litte details in between. It's a show that doesn't care about the viewer. I'm too annoyed to keep watching this trash.  PS. If you like harem shows, there are plenty of other ones to keep your attention. This one has a weak grasp of comedic romance and just feels grating.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero

Mar 3, 2023

I went into this movie expecting a mediocre movie, tbh. But boy was I surprised. The new animation styles are so detailed! There's a ton of hate about CGI, but I really think it has come into its own as a style of animation. I'm really happy at how far it's come. There's so many little actions and interactions that truly show how much energy, time, and effort went into this creation. The love they pour into their work is clear. Sure, there's some cheese, but that's the Dragon Ball style! And it's nice to see Goku and Vegeta not have the limelight for a change. This movie is a real treat for Dragon... See full review

The Eminence in Shadow

Feb 24, 2023

Honestly, at first I thought this was a bit campy. But it grew into a show that I really, really amd glad I stuck around for. So much happens off-screen, that it paces the show really well. The dialogue, character interactions, and animation are all far above what I normally see in this genre. Many things are iffy, sure, but visually the ideas of the techno-magic and the fight scenes in general are all very well done. The art choices, the choriography, even the backgrounds bretay how much effort went into this show. I finished this show feeling thoroughly entertained and wanting more. Looking forward to... Sorcerous Stabber Orphen

Feb 1, 2023

Let me start by saying I have not seen the original, nor will I ever.  This anime was lackluster at best. The chants they used made no sense. In the begining of the show, they said the words mean nothing and it's all just emotions, right? So why say that stupid shit every time? It makes no sense. Worse, the story seems too big for the single season they stuffed it into, except it clearly isn't. Instead, they fill the scenes with stupid and repetitive dialogue. After episode 6, I pushed myself to get through each episode just to finish the season. I was pressing the skip ahead button very often... See full review

Dec 26, 2022

Most of this show is pretty great. The ending is both trash and lovely. It's just so stupid, but at the same time the individual segments are not terrible.  I both love and hate it. I think rather, I hate to love it. Very disappointing ending choice. Should have ended 4-6 episodes before it actually did. But I'm still giving it an 8/10, so.. yeah.

The Maid I Hired Recently Is Mysterious

Oct 3, 2022

I really am not sure how to describe this one. I've only seen the first episode, but I feel like I'm forcing myself to watch the second one. Not good.  It's not awful to watch, but the way the kid speaks is annoying. The mystery is very forced. It's both funny and annoying. I'm conflicted. I don't know if I like this show.  Edit: I have seen up to episode 3 now. I still don't know if I like it. It's both annoying and endearing.

Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest 2nd Season OVA

Sep 30, 2022

OK, so let's start by saying that my review is heavily biased.  If you like that little mermaid girl, then this OVA will be right up your alley.  If you didn't like the mermaid girl as a character (like me), then this OVA is pure trash and you should avoid it.  In conclusion, I really like the actual show. However, this OVA is a waste of my time.

Ultraman

Sep 20, 2022

As of this review, I have seen the first 5 episodes.  I went into this anime knowing nothing of the original series, so this is a fresh take on whatever this was. Unfortunatrely, I cannot continue this show. It's just too boring and convoluted. I like many aspects of the story and I do feel intrigued, but the characters make choices that don't fit their supposed characters. The BBEG (big bad evil guy) could have kept fighting and killed the kid, but chose to retreat? That's just boring writing. They should have had that scene go differently, imo.  The character flow of the show is weird, too... See full review

You know, I generally enjoy shows like this, but this one is a weird one. I enjoyed it but I also wishes it was more than it was. It started off well enough, but then wen't slowly downhill until.. well... yeah.  It's worth watching, but don't expect anything amazing. It's a basic lone hero story, in a game world that doesn't have any details beyond the main character is some legendary blah blah.

Vermeil in Gold: A Desperate Magician Barges Into the Magical World Alongside the Strongest Calamity

I've seen all of 3 episodes, but it's looking to be alright. The dynamic of super old demon preying on a younger boy is weird, but it's a different world so whatever. The characters are more interesting than I thought they would be. Some aspects of the show are just dumb, but others are endearing and funny. So far it's a decent mix of good and bad. I'm definitely interested in seeing more of the show.  The thing that drew me into this anime was how beautiful the scenery is. Each backdrop clearly shows the effort put in. Skeleton Knight in Another World

Jun 25, 2022

This is a rare one. The OP done by Pellek is crazy awesome by itself, but the anime story is engaging and brutal. The main character is a skeleton, which is funny! There's mystery around how, which compells more watching. From the getgo, the main character proved himself as a person who is willing to stand up to evil. This show does a good job of making the viewer understand what real evil is. There are no implications here, either. Then Arc (the main char) is dashing, humorous, and totally unaware of how stupid powerful he is. He's just trying to be a gamer in a cool fantasy world. I can relate to that... See full review
