I am in the same boat as you with the dissertation thing. Working my way through a 20k words thesis too (just... a... little... bit... more...). At least it's only that and not the heaps of work you have ahead of you.
Good luck getting it all done! Perhaps you wll find some time for anime in future months (and you can always drop in for individual shows that catch your fancy)
