The first 120 chapters were a bit hard to get into, the first 50 especially since the pacing was so fast. However, for first-time readers, I recommend that you bear it until 300 chapters in, that's when momentum starts to build up and actions begin. The characters might seem boring at first, but later on Luo Zheng is a troll with infinite world messages which really cracks me up. (It's like Maplestory megaphone)  Bear with it for a bit and the you'll enjoy the story half-way through to the end. The plot is a bit complex and profound when it comes to their universe, it's surprising that they create the... See full review

Goblin Slayer Side Story: Year One

nathandouglasdavis's avatar
Dec 5, 2020

We see Goblin Slayer making a lot more mistakes, but there are still a lot fewer mistakes (and fewer negative consequences) than I would expect from a story about feir first year as an adventurer. We also see some interspersed flashbacks to feir mentor, who is apparently a rhea (I had assumed fe was a goblin for the longest time). Related to that, they have the mentor quote from both Yoda and Gollum...which, I mean...just felt dumb. Each of the various plotlines is obviously built to show how some detail from the main series came to be. Like, we see how feir helmet lost its horns, why fe first decided... See full review

Another good but underrated webtoon TvT  (Might contain spoilers so be careful!) When I first saw the characters (especially Gyulwoo) it gave me a 'Love is an Illusion' vibe, but as I read on it became a unique vibe and I adore the art style (◠‿◠)/   As a minor, I've always wondered how hard the adult world would be and this really opened my eye. It's really not as easy as it seems and sometimes you'd miss your school life. I really wonder what happened to Doyun tho. Hope the other can release side stories about the other couple and Doyun ^w^  I've seen some people... See full review

Solo Spell Caster

It's already been said, and it'll be said again: it's a wannabe riding on the coattails of any other insert-name-here manhwa with gates that bring monsters into 'our' world, and the awakened ones that fight them.  I'd have 0 issue with that, because I'm totally all for that sort of thing.  When done well.  Unfortunately, Solo Spell Caster is lacking in a lot of ways. I like to think I'm not being biased, because this is a subgenre of fantasy that I adore and I've read a lot of them, but as far as opinions go, I have a lot.  There is a TL;DR at the end, though. Art: From the get go, you... See full review

I read this quite some time ago but man can I just say at times I really wanted to punch Hyesung in the face when I was reading this. If you can't stand annoying characters then this is not the manga for you. I continued reading this because I wanted to see what would happen but my expectations were way too high and the story didn't pull through like I thought it would. "Love Is An Illusion" isn't the worst BL manga but also isn't the best. I'd say what gets in the way of the story the most is Hyesung's personality and it can be a HUGE distraction from the story itself.

The story was genuinely intriguing and had so much potential to make as good or even better than psychological horror webcomic. When we get to use a different side of sungho and dohyun's relationship i started to feel really attached to these characters. But the ending was so fucking off putting and doesn't fit with the story that it left a sour taste in my mouth. I really wanted it to have a more ambiguous/bad ending with how their relationship has been shown throughout the series. The ending just tears down all of the story building surrounding their past relationship and it just cheapens the viewer's... See full review

Most of the matter related to the manhwa is discussed in other reveiws. Its art is really an eyesore and so you have to be tolerant to read it.The plot is okay to read but then also the great sage magician that reincarnated is not that really wise bcoz he  sometimes behaves in a childish way. There is a scene where he literally cut down the tree with one full sweep of his sword to find a  mushroom behind the tree instead of walking around the tree to get it.Then also it seems that second season art has improved but that not to that extent that you can find emotions in these soulless characters.

Starting reading the story I was not much impressed. I even feared when I saw hints of BL that it will be the main topic... But the more I read, the more please I was. I am even surprised that I am liking it that much, as the romantic part of story is silly by way how idealistic it is, but maybe that extereme romantic vibe is funny in the end. And the storyline what is happening in the world and how main heroes are facing it is not back and has a good backbone - ebene BL mentioned before has proper reason and enhance the srory.

Unreastic romance optimism might be a big detriment for many, but in this... See full review

The fevor king is based off a novel by the same name. there is a second book so if the ending isn't satifactory then people have to read the sequal in book form. The plot is the main focus of the webtoon, but there is a love story as well. The main character is a bisexual latino jewish anarcist and I love him.  This does delve into deeper themes of abuse, gaslighting, and manipulation and the main couple have to go through a whole lot of angst but they are very sweet.

I started writing this review because I just really love this manga so much, and I want to praise the mangaka for their amazing work. Story 10/10 very emotional, and motivating This manga starts off as a very bizarre one. The first 2 chapters had me laughing till tears came out of my eyes. Our cute uke is lying in a baby crib with turning dildos above it and later he finds a mixer with a dildo attached to it. It's too bizarre to explain it in words, you should really go read it yourself to understand. The chapters that come after that are very emotional. In almost every manga there is a uke who has... Very little happens in each chapter, and what does happen feels either pointless or just playing into tropes. As I was reading, I kept waiting for something that would set this story apart from other isekai stories or make the characters compelling, but no such things happen. In the first chapter, we get the impression that this story will be set apart because Eargard is "hell," a world with strong monsters and a 0% survival rate for summoned people. So with this set-up, I was expecting Toru to struggle. Of course, fe would end up surviving, but I was expecting feir survival to take strenuous... See full review

For what this manga tries to do, and actually does, in only around 600 pages total, it's without a doubt one of the best pieces of literature I've read so far (that might sound overly dramatic but I'm serious, it's that good). Impeccable execution of blurring the lines between reality and dream, not even compareable to how its done in Satoshi Kon's ''Perfect Blue'' (which is a huge benchmark). The story itself is rather confusing, especially towards the end, starting from the 3rd Volume and staying like that until the last page, however I found it to be extremely fitting, seeing how the entire premise of... Without giving away any twists and turns in the story, this is about two agents from the S2C who are trying to take a terrorist leader's android girlfriend hostage so they can have negotiating leverage against fem. There are some funny moments (megaphone scene, I'm looking at you), some sad moments, and some decent fight scenes along the way. At its core, it's a story about protecting the rights of androids and making sure they're not abused or taken advantage of. Oh, and these combat androids are called "shields," so that's what that's referring to in the title.

I was somewhat on board in the first few chapters (it was still somewhat mediocre, but an interesting enough premise and presentation), but I quickly began getting disinterested and annoyed at the half-assed storytelling. The first problem is that there are far too many fights, with most of them only having weak reasons for taking place. The inclusion of magical flame attacks was also a huge mistake, the attempt to make Elwood relevant was pathetic, and the idea of a berserk state being suppressed felt uninspired. The second problem, which is related, is that the world-building feels undeveloped... It tells the story of Rosner, a "deleter," and feir android companion Tinatina as they're on their righteous crusade against the creators and sources of a certain destructive drug. With their two-person unit and some missiles and guns, they raid a drug factory. There is a lot of blood and gaping holes in the one-sided firefight. Of course she is dense when it comes to romance, but that's the same with lots of FLs because it adds a bit of humor and comedic effect. I love reading when the FL impresses everyone despite their prior beliefs. It gets a bit repetitive though. For example: "oh my god some new medical thing thats super bad happens" *elise fixes said issue* "woah elise yeyyy".
