Apocalypse Meow

In the tradition of Maus I & II: A Survivor's Story, My Father Bleeds History (by Art Spiegelman, 1986) comes Apocalypse Meow (by Kobayashi Motofumi, 1998) - a manga about the Vietnamese war from the perspective of a small group of American soldiers portrayed as rabbits. At first, I just wanted to read something with as great a name as Apocalypse Meow.  After getting into the first 8 chapters, however, I would recommend this manga to teachers of American or World History.  Anyone interested in wartime history might also enjoy it.  I do have some issues with the characters - I think... Neon Genesis Evangelion: Angelic Days

It's not often that fans of a particular series find any type of a spinoff of that series as charming, compelling, or absorbing. So, how much more rare to find all three in one of the most controversial and talked about anime of all-time! While die-hard proponents of Neon Genesis may take offense at Angelic Days I for one do not. In fact, It is quite refreshing to see one of the alternate universes from the end of the series come to life and still stay true to the core of each character. That is except Rei. She goes from having less personality than a wet mop to a very interesting character... See full review

Here's My review of the classical Shonen-ai GravitationSTORY:    An 18 year-old high school student, named Shuichi Shindo wants to become a great rock star in Japan with his best friend, Hiro Nakano. One day, when Shuichi had to make lyrics for a love song, his lyrics got grabbed in the wind and landed into the cold and handsome romance novelist, Eiri Yuki's, hand. Yuki looks at his lyrics and disses it for being poorly written. Even though Shuichi didn't like Yuki, He believed that he fell in love with Yuki at first sight. And just doesn't know why but wants to be with Yuki. And does what... See full review

I find that the Manga is far more story intensive than the Anime (which is true in most cases). The story developments such as Saber being made a servant of Caster is a twist that never made it to the Anime, which i saw first. Other twists that I think should have made it to the Anime are:  Sakura using the last Command Spell in the Manga to make Rider save her brother Shingi Matao (following his fall off of the tower following his battle with Emiya) instead of Matao being killed off by Beserker and Illyasviel in the tower following his loss to Saber and Emiya. Although the manga is still making it to... See full review

Story:A boy named yoichi descends from the mountains, where he has spent his whole life, and lives in the city. They mix it up by making him live in a dojo with 3 girls and the shenanigans caused from his niave nature and bad luck.Overall the story wasn't that impressive from where I stopped. It seemed more life a slice of life than an actual samurai epic. As a comedy/slice of life it wasn't too impressive and seemed to rely on the panty shots and partial nudity he always runs into.Art:Was decent but not really wowing.Characters:The male protagonist, Yoichi, is a boy who lived in the mountains with his... This was one of those titles rarely made or even attempted by artists. There was next to no dialog at all and so the creator used typical expressions and situations to convey the characters emotions and reactions.Story:There wasn't a whole lot to it, each chapter was only a few pages long and at 8 chapters with no dialog the story was there but might as well have been a thin veil covering the title as a whole. Cute and charming was pretty much how it went.Art:I was impressed here not due to how detailed or scenic the artwork was, which was still pretty nice, but it was mainly how the mangaka told the story... I first got into Zombie-Loan quite a while ago and watched a few episodes of the anime then forgot about it. Then later, I remembered about it again and watched the rest of the anime. By that time, I'd started getting into manga more than anime, so I started reading the manga. The anime is very close to the manga, no fillers or anything. As I read the manga more, I came to love it more. The story can get a bit complicated at parts, but overall it's really exciting, and often chapters end on a cliffhanger, leaving me waiting eagerly for the next chapter to be released. Highschool of the Dead was the very first manga I ever read. I went through the available chapters after a couple days. And was dissappointed when I found out it was on hiatus. However this one just about tops the list as one of my favorite mangas of all time. I was completely taken back by the high level of blood, guts and action all over the place. When they found the gun/ammo locker and the Humvee and started blasting headshots on passing zombies. I think the story is very good even though it isn't really origional. You of course have a mall with some other crazy survivors. A stuck-up rich companion who's... See full review

The only reason I really even noticed was because the art work looked familar, so I checked the author. But since I now knew that Akatsuki was writing this manga, I knew it was going to be good. This was the first manga I'd read that was centered around magic. I think this is the first story I've given all 10 points to. The overall story is really cute and easy to relate to in todays terms. Though being a shorter version of the anime. The manga does not really go in depth about the characters and story. Without watching the anime before hand I'm sure I would have been totally lost as to what is going on. Sola the manga follows all of the events of the anime nearly precisely just leaving out minor events [and much details as to who everyone is] Even then it is still a nice quick read.

While the story is slightly weak in what its about (save the world) how it tells it is rather interesting.  I can say that because the main character is in many ways one of the most rude characters I have seen.  Not crude or mean.  But rude.  Deep down he has a good heart though.Basically it takes place during a time where martial art's rule the world.  No real "magic" per say.  Just lots of strong spiritual force is abound.  If you like Martial arts, and don't want to have a "perfect" main character.  This is a manga for you :)

My favourite magical girl. :D Why? The protagonist, Amu is actually cute; not the "dojikko" type who just falls off every stair and is adorable by making small mistakes and such. Lately, it seems that there are a lot of very predictable manga. You see two guy characters and a girl character that are forced together by fate, and the first thing you think is "reverse harem", or that there's going to be a love triangle. In this manga, it's different. Someone's undead, shouldn't they angst about it? There are bishounen, so isn't there fanservice? Weak-willed female character, doesn't she stay that way until... Another manga I had put off for way too long. And yet, I think it’s a good thing I didn’t read it directly after the anime, for there are some major differences in terms of story progression, even though the tone in both is more or less the same. Welcome to the NHK! is, on the surface, a show about society- and personal problems we face in the modern day. On a different level, it is a story about depression and addiction. As it turns out that Misao is the "bride of prophecy", mean, that her blood can give the demon's clan who "claims" (^//^ Tehe) her great power. But most demons wish to eat her and keep the power for themselves. Now the younger is trying to stay alove, and decide... See full review

Story: Oh Azumanga Daioh, how amusing you are. Light and humorous and flowing as well. I felt myself laughing all time while reading this. From all the little quirks and oddities, Azumanga isn't short of comedy and fun. Nothing to heavy and I never found myself bored. The ending was fitting and not overdone. Just a great bundle of fun. Art: Cute and amusing. Character designs fit to a tee. I found Chiyo's father pretty creepy though. Other than that, the art is easy on the eyes. The short panels don't do much for the background but there not supposed to. Chiyo-chan is the epitome of cuteness especially... See full review

This was borderline hentai. i mean really? Why would they think a story about an uncle boning his little niece is good material. This just makes me sick. I guess this was for the Japanese redneck community.

This manga is really great. The hole story is based on Tsukune Aono's (human) entry at a school made for monsters. His actions and the friendship bonds he created with some other characters (mostly female) will get him involved in a bunch of different situations, which generally make the manga even more interestingThe plot is pretty much the same as the anime  (which came after the manga) and actually contains more stuff, which in my opinion had to be in the anime series. The characters are very well designed, but not flauless. The same goes for the hole art thing. This is a must read manga in my... Bokutachi wa Shitte Shimatta

'Bokutachi wa Shitte Shimatta' by Kaho Miyasaka is my favourite manga out of all those that I have ever read even though I'm not finished with it. I absolutely fancy Miyasaka's style of drawing, espially how she draws the Vol. and Ch. covers. She is my very favourite mangaka in general, but with BTWSS, she did actually prove her talent for drawing in my opinion. The basic storyline of BTWSS is pretty stereotype since there are many manga, anime, movies and books which tell a girl's story on which the boy she loves has a big influence. Even the main aspects which define the story, like Kotori's shyness or the... See full review

Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle

I can't recommend this series enough. Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle is a must-read for any hardcore CLAMP fan. The story, characters, and art are all top-notch. One thing to be noted is that by the time you reach the Acid Tokyo arc, everything gets flipped upside-down. The second half of Tsubasa is an extreme departure from the first; it is no longer a light-hearted nakama adventure story, but something that would be fitting in a seinen manga.---> READ MY FULL, IN-DEPTH REVIEW HERE: http://myanimelist.net/manga/9/Tsubasa_RESERVoir_CHRoNiCLE/reviews(Please mark my in-depth review as helpful if you found it... Intro...Syaoran and Sakura live in Clow Country, a world of sand with mysterious ruins within.  A chance event within causing Sakura to loose her memories in the form of feathers and they are scattered over many different worlds.  Syaoran travel with the aid of Kurogane and Fai to these other worlds in order to find the memories and return them to Sakura.Story: 10I must admit that having not read any of CLAMPS works, I must have been at a disadvantage.  In fact, only have watched Chobits was the furthest that I've ever got.  However, even without this, the story of Tsubasa: Reservoir...
