Toukaidou Hisame - Kagerou

There's a more solid plot in this sequel but it's never for the sake of having the characters fight large-scale battles against youkai demons to achieve some universal goals or some shit, it's more on having new characters introduced to add backgrounds to our two main leads. For the first half of the story we're greeted with this mysterious eye-patch dude Yakumo (who looks like evil Hijikata) with Shion revealing to be his companion. It then progressed into a hunt for the "Sengo Murasame" blade which was made a big deal out of in the story. Hisame's dad once wielded this blade so flashbacks were... See full review

A Shingon Monk and an exorcist journey on the route of Tokaido to exterminate "Youkai of the week" every chapter. In the beginning it was pretty much like that, just a new youkai every chapter... until they introduced the antagonist Shion during the last 3 chaps. His character was too late of an entry to salvage the episodic mess made earlier. The comedic bits are also very light & repetitive, it's shojo anyway so those parts can be overlooked. And Itsuki is too much of a Hisame supremacist to have unique traits of his own, it's not funny when he pulls this "Hisame is superior" shit... See full review

Based on context clues, it seems that the first few chapters of this manga occur before the events of the anime, the mid-to-later chapters occur concurrently with the anime, and the final chapter occurs after the conclusion of the anime. I haven't actually seen the anime, and I have no plans to watch it, so these educated guesses will have to be good enough. I also have to assume that the people this manga is following, the student council members, are the primary antagonists in the anime. They have the goal of conquering the world, though their methods are to create petty annoyances and hope that... See full review

Fushigi Yuugi Genbu Kaiden. definitely a must read. One of the famous isekai back in the days. If you loved the adventures of Miaka in the first Fushigi Yuugi, you'll love this one more. I especially loved the female heroine's character. Takiko Okuda is the most selfless, loving, nurturing main character, the best priestess in the Universe of the Four Gods periodt (Suzuno's arc is still ongoing at the moment but I'm still Takiko biased). You will love her relationship with the Genbu Shichi Seishis which was totally different from the first FY. I'm sorry I couldn't help but... See full review

A tragedy. Of a passionate, life-consuming love on the level of Romeo and Juliet's. And of the fear of social ostracization and being called a lesbo. It starts out by showing how Simone marches to the beat of feir own drum, in a slightly delinquent type of way (smoking cigarettes, sneaking out at night), and how fe seems to mock those who worry about conformity. Then it shows how Resine, the unconfident normie, and Simone start noticing and developing an interest in each other during their time as roommates at the boarding school. Then some drama, intimacy, and... See full review

The story plot is so unique and beautiful. The ending was really heart warming. The characters were also decently written, I adore Shizuku. The art was decent, but not good enough. The face perportions (I mean face positioning) is sometimes off. I certainly know by time with good practice the author/artist of this manga will improve. Sorry if something's not clear, I'm not very artistic to explain this. Conclusion: This is a must read, it has a sad beginning but a sweet ending.

Okay. I'm a big fan of baseball and one of the best baseball animes/manga has to be Diamond No Ace yet the classic one being Touch and its sequel/reboot Mix: Meisei High. I've seen all three of them but Diamond No Ace beats them in action, dialogue, team chemistry, and most important realistic aspects. Now im giving a brief summary of the first few chapters no major spoilers: Touch started the cliche that the best player on the teams dies suddenly and his brother then takes over to lead the team like Knight in the Area. However, Bungo tells the tale of Ishihama Bungo and it takes us on a journey through... See full review

this one was written by a gay mangaka and you can tell because it addresses harder and more uncomfortable issues than romance mangas like internalized homophobia and never actually acheiving the acceptance of your family. like I said, this isn't a romance but I reconmend it to everyone because it focuses on acceptance and familial love.

Honestly, the first chapters were somewhat intriguing but after ch7 I got especially bored, I also really don't enjoy the characters that much, they are really plain and feel one dimensional, also really ugly. The art isn't great also one thing that made me uncomfortable is that the ML red head, is a literal pedophile. I am dropping this since I don't enjoy the story or characters much.

Story: this manga is a techer-student romance with Harasen from "Classmates". I felt there was more focus on his past than him developing a relationship with Sarano, and was a little lacking in the feels compared to "Classmates" and "Graduate". But overall, was good to see Harasen get a happy ending. Art: The art style grew on me with "Classmates" and "Graduate", but I felt like the weird stick legs were a bit to much in this one - especially for Sarano.  Characters: Sarano and Harasen were good, both having their personalities portrayed quite... This manhwa could've went two ways. It could've been really bad or either really good. And luckily this manhwa went towards the good way. Mostly because of how the main character is. For all of the chapters released now, the main character has made his goal extremely clear (Which is to save his frozen teammates), and he takes no detours or distraction while trying to achieve his goal. His personality isn't uncommon per se, but it doesn't make it any less enjoyable. This manhwa also has more comedic moments than other which I really like. Honestly, I wasn't sure about reading this BL because the art style didn't really appeal to me and the description didn't catch my attention either. BUT I am so glad I decided to read it - it was definitely a "don't judge a book by it's cover" type of manga. Story: The story was well paced, had enough conflict for interest but not the type that left you wanting to smack a character, and flowed well with the characters. Their romance was VERY cute, and I loved their little moments - the type to make you softly smile. A couple side details (about the teacher) felt uneccessary but it made sense... See full review

I honestly think this is my favorite manga of all time. The story is exciting and includes so many different aspects of life. It has some fantasy and adventure but also includes many much deeper topics. The art is also absolutely beautiful . The characters have to be the best part of this anime though. The main character Yona starts off as a spoiled princess, not really able to do anything but as the story progresses she gets stronger. Something really great about this was that it didn't go to fast and Yona struggles until the very end. The other characters were... See full review

Was kinda hesitant to read this at first since ik the author made a lotta shotacon-themed mangas which are pretty unsettling. But the premise just draws you in man, androgynous men in a brothel?? Dang that's sth new. If you're a sucker for long-haired historical gays then chile come have a try on this one~  Things I appreciate in this BL: 1. Two boys bonding after the unfortunate fate they've been subjected to.
2. Tad glimpse into how messed up brothel work really is with the "mizuage" & all that, it's like a ritual which afterwards will be similar to giving the customers a... See full review

A decent historical BL set in the Asuka period where a young boy was rescued by a wandering craft master who left his home, his job, etc. The boy Tasuna studied under this dude Azeri. Years later he left for a city to hone his craft, and before he parts they made a promise to each other to travel to Baekje.... which will never come to light since the chapters are too short lol. Tasuna has proven himself a competent man whilst doing craftsmanship away from Azeri, there's no signs of envy in between them just a simple attraction who blossomed from master-student to lovers.

This story would feel most relatable when you're in the same age range, it's healing yet a bit too occupied with too much cat activities at the same time. I get what they're trying to convey through this but having 90% of the chapters covering cats and dem changing the neighbours' opinions on strays is overkill at best. I'd like to see more of the girl's previous accident to feel how scarred she is otherwise my sympathies will all be directed to the stray cats rather than that sense of loss she felt. Just my opinion tho, there's many ways to portray that and they've successfully done so by placing a... See full review

TL;DR - This is a more explicit, not funny, and boring Prison School. Artwork's great. Super sexy. But that's about the only thing good about this manga. Both mangas feature a band of horny dudes dealing with sexy women in all sorts of scenarios. The biggest difference though is that Prison School, although exaggerated, at least kept some modicum of sanity. More importantly, it was hilarious. But in DesuRaba, nothing that anyone does makes any sense whatsoever. The reason slapstick and exaggerated comedy are funny is that they still make some hint of sense. It uses simplistic, silhouetty art. The Americans look unhuman, like bowling-pins or pieces of molded clay. In this world, two countries are placed in contrast to one another: Japan and America. Japan has the internet, America doesn't. Japan has normal biological functions, America doesn't. Japan uses money, America doesn't. The portrayals of America are vague and seemingly steeped in metaphorical observations, perhaps even critiques. There are two observations of America which I noticed. There isn't a lot I can say about this fic outside of the reasons I dropped it, so I'm going to try my best to start with the positives.  The art was great, and there was little to no pitting women against each other for the sake of plot device. I really appreciated that. The main character's "love rival" was very sweet and they got along very well, and that was a nice refreshing take on the usual "love triangle" that exists inmost mangas.  But outside of these two things, there's nothing else for me to compliment it on. I could spend hours listing all the things I didn'tlike... See full review

It's just a bland introduction to the setting, purposefully devoid of any meaningful plot. You can't even get a feel for the characters' personalities because it's so short. I usually don't bash much on what the art in manga looks like since I can't draw myself, and I want to appreciate the difficulties of drawing. But I'd be lying if I said the art in this manga was good. It's horrible. The story is cliche and is the same as any typical revenge Isekai. Guy gets betrayed by teammates. BooHoo so sad. It's not interesting. Not to mention how predictable the whole thing is. It sucks really. You can try to read it yourself but... Yikes man... Yikes...

Wholesome. Pretty much sums up the manga. Every chapter revolves around a diffrent couple beginning with their confessions then ongoing with what their everyday romance goes on like. Every few chapters, one of the couples will come back so we can see how they're doing. No real story or plot to it, but it's a pretty nice read. The diffrent couples from each chapter are very very... diverse? Even some having HumanXVampie, HumanXUndead and stuff like that. Doesnt make it any less wholesome. There's a bunch of funny parts too. So yeah. It's a slice of life. Nice read.

I have to admit, it was a nice change for a “isekai” type of Yuri manhua where our MC Yu Gi gets swapped with her 17 year old and 27 year old self in different timelines. However the plot of the story was pretty rushed and vague to give the reason why Yu Gi was swapped in the first place. It was kinda disappointing that it didn’t expand on that part. Art was basic enough although I felt not much effort was put into it either. However I do give credit where it’s due to the fact, the story is cute like I do ship Yu Gi and Yuanzi a lot as a couple! Props to the author for making a strong female lead. She's not the smartest around (she got caught in schemes in both her past and present lives, which makes sense... rebirth doesn't suddenly make you smarter) but she's clever and courageous, and one hell of a fighter. Something interesting that I liked about the story is that the way the male lead is treated, story and plot wise, is similar to how you'll see strong female protagonists in other stories are treated (in terms of the kind of situations they fall in to, ect.). However, the story drags on and on. There's so much drama and seems to take forever... See full review
