Anime Bingo Challenge: Winter 2019 Warning; this will contain at least some spoilers. It's also a series that's over 20 years old. So, what'ya gonna do? Trigun takes place on the fictional planet: Gunsmoke. Sometime in the future Earth has become so decayed that humanity instigated a project to seek new homes throughout space: Project Seeds. While traveling through space, humans discover two aliens and as a result of taking them along with them end up crash landing on an essentially desert planet. An... See full review

I watched this anime two times, never got bored. The anime is so unique compared to every other anime. I really recommend watching if you enjoy exciting animes that include interesting plots (that includes gangs), and loveable characters.  Personally, my favourite character is Masaomi Kida, one of Mikados (the main character) close friends, he has a very outstanding personality and he never gets boring in the show and my least favourite character is probably Anri, though I have no real problem with her she seems to get really boring throughout the show and its hard to get attached to her as I... Very good continuation of the first season. My favourite part was seeing the development of Asuna's character and learning more about her life outside of the virtual world. But, like the first season, the inital story line was quickly forgotten about about half way through and the plot went in a complete different direction. There was a lack of connection between the two for me, but I still really enjoyed watching it!

The Seven Deadly Sins

I was surprisingly sucked into this anime.  The aesthetics are a little different from what I'm used to seeing as the lines are much rounder (especially noses).  I didn't know anything about the series before going into it as I found it when browsing Netflix, but I'm a little surprised there isn't more hype for this series. Plot A girl, who turns out to be a princess, stumbles into a remote tavern run by a mysterious and short man (and his friend, a talking pig) and passes out.  When she comes-to, she reveals that she is looking for the infamous Seven Deadly Sins; a group of criminals who... You know, it isn't that bad. I do see where people could turn off, but the people who dislike it may have somehow thought it would involve full sex and stuff. You have to understand the context: Japan has a low birth rate. This show adressed to an audiance to "embellish" the idea of "conception". The story is indeed ridiculous, but it's a comedy. The characters are over the top, because it's a comedy. I like how mature the main character is and for ONCE the main character is also interresting: he acts naturally. I mean, if you were to be call upon to "make childs", your... See full review

Absolutely loved this and it’s prequel. Haven’t seen the manhwa, but that didn’t hinder on my experience as the storyline, though full of intrigue, was easy enough to follow. The fight scenes were particularly spectacular, especially in the prequel. On a side note, I couldn’t help but find some major similarities to the main character Raizel and that of Kaname from anime Vampire Knight. A favourite character I might add. It wouldn’t surprise me if this gets the green light for a full series.  https://vampireknight.fandom.com/wiki/File:80689.jpg

I thought this one was alright. I was looking for in this one was another that didn't have any background stories to explain stuff, but it actually had enough. Between the introductions and the background stories of the main characters and the dropped hints, it ran pretty good for me. The main story of this anime was ok, then when they introduced the bounty on the main character it then picked up. There were some filler episodes that contributed the the main character learning something or something about his team, but didn't drop the main plot completly. Animation and sound wise it was good. In hindsight I probably should have just watched this when it came out, instead I waited years so the mental build-up I had for this to be great was pretty big. I am disappointed. There was WAY TOO MUCH sexual fanservice going on. Lelouch is supposed to want to protect his innocent Nunnally, having her interact with barely clad girls who seriously fight about who’s the hotter rabbit was repulsive. Fawn Shirley was way out of character outfit wise, while her words and manner towards Nunnally were sweet her appearance -basically naked derriere -  is the focal point of their entire... I gave this show the benefit of the doubt. The first episode didn't grab me, but it's rated highly enough that I thought I would give it a second episode.  I like the animation style, sorta. It's not what we are used to, but that isn't nesecarily a bad thing. It's fine. What I found to be, after 2 episodes, was that I was completely bored watching the show. Certain things made me smile and laugh, but mostly the show was extremely boring. The whole premise is about running a book shop. They tried to make it mean something, I guess, but in the end it's all about running a monotonous store.  I'm... See full review

Devil's Line had been in my "to watch" queue ever since it aired. I finally got around to watching it this weekend and enjoyed it so much, I ended up marathoning it. I am surprised at the amount of negative comments I've read concerning this anime. This is an anime that is based on a 13 volume dark fantasy manga that was completed in December 2018. In some ways it reminded me strongly of Tokyo Ghoul and slightly of Anjin, not that this is a bad thing in my opinion as I enjoyed both of those for various reasons. But again we have a different species of creature, that if chooses can sublimate... See full review

Available to watch via Netflix.  The more I thought about the movie, the more I realized that it had potential to be much more than it was.  I'm not saying it was bad by any means; lately anime movies have not been living up to the series from which they came.  "Prisoners of the Sky" is an interesting and amusing movie, but nothing really out of the ordinary.  The timeline is somewhere in the "Revival of the Ten Commandments" season. Plot A case of mistaken identity; as Meliodas (and Hawk) are looking for flying fish to prepare for Bartra's birthday (while the... See full review

The second season feels a bit different compared the first season, there is a tempo increase and the show tries to fit more skits into a single episode too.  There isn't a lot of focus on character development in the early part of the season and I actually feel that characters have been dumbed down to the point where they've become a one-trick running joke. Which I consider a real shame since I actually really liked all of the kids and their crazy issues. The blond girl has literally turned into just a panty girl which is a real shame since I really enjoyed her angry side.The... See full review

Attack on Titan 3rd Season

this season just focused on internal affairs inside the walls and I believe that they did a great job on script and showed that Attack on Titan can be great without Titans and I believe this part was very crucial and showed political problems and very reletable to reality and I know everyone wants to see Titans but story is also a thing . Look at Tokyo ghoul ( re) they cut the story and ruind the show even though they showed so many ghouls . Many people say it's boring ,but for them let them know that this is the calm before the storm and the next arc is going to be awsoooooome as f**k.

This was nonsense. Getting thrown into the middle of a story with absolutely no explaination of what has happened between the seasons for everything to be so completely different is NOT okay. This was just way too much this time around and made this garbage unwatchable for me. Animation studios need to just stick to the manga. I wouldn't even give this half a star or a 1 out of 10 if i could get away with 0's.

Best anime I’ve seen in a while! I watched the entire two seasons in two days as it had me hooked! Very interesting storyline, although I can see why some people say it has more potential, as there are probably some really exciting things they could’ve done with the plot. Also, animation is so good!! The characters are also really well written. There is good character development for Yuu, and I felt so bad for Yuu and Mika! Also I feel bad for liking some of the bad guys (actual well written villains!), but hate them at the same time! I would definitely recommend this anime.

When you think of a story, that story should (in theory) go through for the entire season for the story to make sense. Castlevania Season 2

SaltySnail's avatar

A worthy addition to the series, this second season by far blew out the first one. The battles were very intense, my favorite of course being the final battle. I loved the salty humor the the main characters showed, underlying the slowly building alliance between them. To see the inner politics behind Draculas warforce was awesome! The backstories behind some of the newly introduced characters really added some of the really dark elements that the series is known for, and really added to the richness of this lore. If you have any doubts about watching this, discard them immediately.

An absolutely amazing anime to watch, with the characters in this one were truly exceptional. The personalities of the characters were very consistent and did best to reflect the gritty world that these people have been forced into. I felt the animations were also very good, with the magic and blood effects looking excellent against the grim bleak background of the world. When there was fire and battle, it really showed, which added tensions and vigor to the battles. Add it to your list to watch.

Watched this a while back and thought I would review it. I personally thought it was the best out of all the fate series, with the characters being my favorite. I felt the story gave mostly everyone involved a reason to be supported or a reason for you to not want them to die (besides some obvious few). I felt that was great because battles were even more emotionally intense with you not really wanting either side to lose. The backstories for characters was great and did what I felt a good job showing how they came to be who they are today. The animations were stunning with the range of colors and such... For a story about antrhopormorphic monkeys in a world with humans who look down on them and one little monkey's drive to prove himself, this was decent. Heck, it was downright enjoyable. Part of the reason might be that I watched the dub and hearing the cast of InuYasha [one of the first anime I watched] in a story about a magically powered monkey was just plain hilarious. While there was definetley some corny/cheesy stuff, Kongo's (Goku in the Japenese version and character name listed here on A-P) drive to be the best and show-off all the time, even thought it pretty much just got him in trouble every... Goblin Slayer was the edgy flavor of the month, akin to Akame ga Kill, a badly written gorefest for edgelords who are overhyping it for thinking it’s breaking some stereotype in the most laughable manner possible. In this case, it’s breaking the stereotype of never showing rape in animated form. Let’s completely disregard most light novel adaptations which have rapes, and one dimensional evil rapists are the most commonly found bad guys in modern anime.

Anyways, as I said it’s an edgy gorefest for edgelords and should not be overhyped as anything more than that. Such as... See full review

One of the greatest, if not, the BEST anime movie that I have ever watched as a child. I still get goosebumps whenever I watch this. It's really good. Not only that,  the animation of this is superb.

Story: 5/10 The Story is very straight forward and easy to follow.  Its your very typical shonen adventure and discover the... See full review
