Punch Line

I thought about abandoning this after the first episode because of both bad reviews, and A LOT of panty shots which aren't really my thing. I decided to power through it due to the fact that I really liked the animation style. Let me tell you, I was NOT disappointed. This is one of the most unique animes I've seen all year, and even though the panty-shot troupe was used often, it was relevant enough to the story that it didn't feel worn out. The story was complicated enough that it could have ended up a plot hole mess, but was handled in a way where I couldn't stop at just one... See full review

This is by far one of the best Animes to ever exist. The way the story and characters are written are done with nothing but perfection. It has 900+ episodes but thats one of the best parts about it because its the kind of anime that makes you desperate for more!!!

A romantic love story of 25 episodes, I was skeptical they could keep me interested.  Not for a moment it actually had me guessing what would happen at times and it kept it realistic.  The characters are well developed and the stories of who loves who kept you interested.  My only negative was the ending, I wanted to see a marriage.

I was browsing through some other anime when this came up on a recommendation. I clicked and watched, since it was only a minute long and I'm bored. God i wish i didnt click it. I literally feel sick to my stomach. Those with a weak stomach like me, don't watch. I'm gonna go throw up now. wish i could put 0 for the score, but 1 is the lowest it can be.

This is the show that got me into anime. I have watched this twice already and wouldn't hesitate watching it again.  First: the story, which is amazing. ice skater katsuki yuri loses a pretty important championship and gets kinda depressed, returning to his home town in japan after 4 years. victor nikiforov is like the best ice skater of his time, having won many championships already. he moves on impulse to japan to coach yuri. ah, did i mention that victor is yuri's longtime idol and crush? throw in some awesome side characters, amazing music, enjoyable animation and love, and... I really enjoyed this series.  The characters were great and so was the story line.  I wish that we were given more information on Elias and why he acted the way he acted.  It would be great if they gave us another season and focaused on Chise and Elias' relationship and feelings.  It has so much potential and I felt letdown a bit but I did really enjoy it.  I do recommend the anime.

My Hero Academia The Movie: Two Heroes

Franconator's avatar

What it is: A love letter to fans of the franchise. What it isn't: A stand-alone film to attract new fans to the series. Let's get this out of the way: if the thrill of seeing Horikoshi Kohei's art explode on the big screen is your only reason for watching this, then you won't go home disappointed. But if you're looking for a little more depth and development for the characters or the story, then you're better off getting into the series instead. The movie is more filler than franchise-builder, so there isn't a lot to expect here by way of plot progression. The nuanced and teamwork-based set-ups from the... See full review

It's kind of hard to give a good review because i have a feeling that my enjoyment may have been affected by high expectiations-

that being said, there's one objective issue with this title when it comes to the dub. It's very difficult to hear what the characters are saying much of the time due to their volume being much lower than that of any other sounds. So subtitles are a good idea.

Animation is very good quality, as is to be expected.

Aside from that, it was actually pretty good. This will be a positive for some and a negative for others, but I'd definitley say that this... See full review

The focus of the second season has shifted and we’re not looking more into the relationships that are forming between the 3 main characters. It’s very satisfying to see these characters grow and how much they’re all craving genuine relationships. The interactions between the whole cast makes you aware that everything is not what it seems but that every character has an important role to play in the outcome. And those other cast members are extremely well developed to. Sadly, we don’t get anywhere near seeing that outcome but it’s still an amazing watch.

Skull-face Bookseller Honda-san

Full Review Here: Short version:

On the surface Honda-san looks awful, mostly due to its stilted "Inferno Cop" esque visuals. However underlying that is a series with a surprising amount of heart, mostly due to Honda-san's attitude when it comes to working. He genuinely tries hard to please his customers and despite the difficulties of his job he gets genuine enjoyment out of it, as well as his equally strange coworkers. Honda-san is a work based comedy and a large amount of jokes come from a problem customer or unexpected obstacle getting in Honda's way and he responds poorly. Then... See full review

Introduction: In unique fashion, here's a modified snippet from Elizabeth Barrett Browning's Sonnet 43 for your personal enjoyment. It is the best way I can capture the pure essence of this show: "Oh Anime Lottery Game, how do I love thee?

For being forced to endure this God-awful show!" If you haven't guessed it, Ulysses: Jeanne d'Arc and the Alchemist Knight was my random selection for the masochistic pleasure known as... See full review

Loving this series! I am a big fan of Castlevania and season two has not disappointed me. Good introduction to new characters and love the interaction between every character in this one. Story wise it is done very well. Even though there may be some differences in the game, the series is still doing a good job of putting characters and what not in there that people will recognize. While trying to catch up with Bloom into You, decided to give this one a look. The show is called My Maid is too Annoying! Well…more like My Maid Has a Lolita Complex, Call the Police! So the series concerns a young girl named Misha Takanashi, a half-Russian girl. Misha had become a recluse of sorts after the death of her mother, and she had the tendency to scare off potential maids by doing things such as burning the laundry; leaving banana peels everywhere. This changes when a 28-year-old woman named Tsubame Kamoi decides to take the job. The problem? Kamoi has a particular interest in young girls... See full review

Nov 10, 2018

An amusing romcom, but like many anime produced in recent years with 11-13 episodes, suffers from being incomplete by the final episode.  It would have benefitted much more had it been a 24 episode series (or at least another 4-5 episodes to conclude things), as the final episode doesn't resolve anything, which leaves the viewer disappointed. Story A snobby rich boy named Masamune was teased and bullied for being chubby as a kid.  When he confessed to a girl, currently known as the "cruel queen", he liked, it was thrown back in his face as he got the nickname of "Pig Foot"... "Legend of Fabulous Battle" comes up after the credits... not sure if I'd really call it fabulous, but hey. A tragedy that I assume was probably ok for it's time that doesn't really hold up today, is still an interesting piece of media.
Everyone either has a case of naiveté or stupidity, which results in the tragedies, but in war I guess things will always get messy regardless. Even though it's old, it's not really bad per say, though I do wish they had explained a little more about the world they inhabit, like the ship of souls and such. I enjoyed the animation and the music choices... See full review

This is a spoiler free review. Ok, so this is one of the better series this season. The show has an interesting concept, dark themes, and even a few decent comedy elements. It also features a main character that’s basically a fantasy Batman with a grudge against goblins instead of criminals which is just plain awesome. What’s even better it manages all this without being tonally inconsistent. Unfortunately, the show has a very controversial first episode, which kind of set the internet on fire and might put a viewer off. I’ll address it (without spoilers) before the rest of the... I liked the animation, but that was pretty much it. I got the basics of what was going on, worlds ending, people merged relics with girls to fight monsters, etc, but the anime does a SHITE job at explainig the premise of this world and what the hell is going on. I get that it's based on a mobile game, but still, EXPLAIN THINGS. I'm at a loss as to who this anime is supposed to be for. If it's for fans, than it's pretty crap, because it only barely teases the weaponised girls after the credits, I doubt anyone came for a few shouting scenes with the scientists, siblings, and old farts, or some very sparce... Normally, I break anime down into story, plot, and overall (occasionally touching on sound and animation if there's something sensational or terrible about it). This anime...don't.  Just don't.  Don't waste your time with it.  I want the time I spent on this back from my life...and I don't usually say things like that at the start of a review, even for a really crappy anime. The plot was nonexistant.  There was a possibility of one at the beginning with the "protagonist" being saved from living as a sort of dog for a gang, but wasn't elaborated on soon enough.  The first... When I read the summary and some spoil-free reviews, I expected an extremely light hearted comedy.  What I got was certainly comedic in many ways, but it had plenty of moments so relatable that it hurt, as well as romantic tension (get your minds out of the gutter; I said "romantic tension", not "sexual tension").  ;p Story Sorata Kanda is a second year at Suiko High School, and was kicked out of the normal student dorms for hiding a stray cat in his room.  He was sent to Sakurasou, a small dorm full of the "crazy" students and oddballs who don't quite fit into... First of all, I'd really like to say that I enjoyed this season, and there was something of value in each episode that I was entertained by.  There was a lot of positive character development in season 3 both between Izuku, Bakugo, and Ochako.  Those three characters, in my opinion, developed the most.  I loved the building upon the foundations that Izuku has been doing, his development is slow but he is improving.  I also enjoyed seeing a different side to Bakugo as the season progressed.  For most of the prior seasons he seemed pretty one dimensional in terms of his emotions, but... Cool short animation movie to be seen in the Studio Ghibli museum! Saw this one in Oct 2018, no idea how long they show it for, or if they rotate their films at the museum? I have heard of other animated shorts playing there, but unfortunately the museum ticket only allows you to watch 1 screening per visit. Even though not subbed, still highly enjoyable for all ages to see the funny story of the husband and wife farmers supporting the sumo mice facing off against the larger sumo mice (i believe come from a wealthy home) and seeing the battle....definitely give it a watch if in the Ghibli museum!!

I didn't even make it an entire episode. I'm sure others like it but, it's just really cringey, and the plot seems a little wonky and generic. Not to mention the character-designs are ... out there - even for anime standards. And the characters themselves seem quite two-dimensional. I'm sorry to say, but I was disappointed. I was really expecting more out of an anime with such a fanbase and praise.

This review is only up to the latest episode which is episode 6. I am really in love with this anime. I feel this anime was great with a good concept I only wish there was more than 25 episodes. I wish they would make more of this I haven't seen a concept like this for a while the intensity the music and everything go together so well.
