Good evening Denizens of Anime Planet. I'm here to offer review, though it will be a little longer than my other ones. I try to avoid any spoilers best I can, so let's get started. I feel very conflicted about this anime. I enjoyed watching it to some degree, yet I am painfully aware of how terribly it was executed. This show had so much potential, and even had a few genuinely creepy moments. I admit I did enjoy quite a few of the characters, and was interested enough to finish the show. However, there were times where it felt like the story was written by a child. Now before you hate in the comments, allow... See full review

Black Clover

The Black clover manga was deserving of a good adaptation. A saying goes that "Good characters can make up for a bad plot, but a good plot can't make up for bad characters". This is true in many ways, but Black clover has both good characters and a good plot. So why, why must the good characters and the story make up for the bad animation? To anyone who is considering watching the anime: please do. If you get bored of it, please just read the manga instead of abandoning it. Here’s the deal. The Black clover anime is lacking in a lot of ways; the sound effects and the overall timing of the... See full review

This anime touches on a very important subject of mental health. But I think the story and specially the execusion was very poor. Naho is specially very annoying. Even after the letters Naho blunders the new year's eve. Naho is constantly messing things up and they basically live a very similar present to their letter from future's past. They make very less changes. The in between episodesget really boring..only the last episde saves it a bit. I feel Suha is the only one who actually makes an impact changing the future, even Hagita does better than Naho by damaging his cycle.

Mushishi Zoku Shou: Suzu no Shizuku

Nov 27, 2018

After a 9-year run, our tour with Ginko through the supernatural draws to a close with a short film adaptation of Suzu no Shizuku (Drops of Bells), the last arc of the acclaimed young adult manga—Mushishi—by Yuki Urushibara. In the first half of Suzu no Shizuku, a girl leaves her family behind when she’s summoned to be the next lord of a mountain. Thriving lands, called “Rivers of Light”, require the presence of a lord to maintain the balance of life in that area. Choosing a human as a lord is an unusual move, however. Such a task is typically delegated to animals since they... See full review

Alright everyone, gather round for another review, which will be more exciting than your next breath. Well i say that but i don't think this will be the case with MUC, cause if i'm totally honest with you it doesn't have all that much in terms of worthy content..I expected more fun with Sae, Nanaka, Akane, Takakura and Aburatsubo but the little spark the OVA series had is almost gone. Speaking of it, this one takes place right after the events of the OVA. Basically after they "defeated" the hideous monsters-well no so hideous or even dangerous-they were left with a giant cherry tree to deal... See full review

Final Fantasy: Legend Of The Crystals

Nov 27, 2018

Before Square-Enix decided to doom your expectations with Spirits Within in 2001, there was an Anime made loosely based on one of the main entries of the series called Legend of the Crystals, which was a 4-part OAV serving as a sequel to Final Fantasy V. Released in Japan in 1994, then in the US in 1998, few got to glimpse and have their hopes shattered at how weird it really was. For one, it was decided that instead of a game, an Anime would be chosen to become the sequel to a game which not many were aware of at the time. Unless you had played a ROM of the game, you would had never imagined what Legend of... See full review

Great colourful animation like the original series and great sound effects which are suitable for the mood of each scene. I would say that the story line was a little uneventful. However, that is kind of expected as it was only a film, not a whole series. It was good as it showed connections to the main storyline. Such as Jibril and the stone Steph had. I find it not dissimilar to the layout of Rogue One in the star wars series, as both the protagonist sacrificed themselves for 'Hope' basically. Can't wait for the second season of No Game No Life!

Izumi has been reunited with his old classmates, Souma and Natsume, after school hopping for a couple of years. Izumi still has feelings for Natsume, while Natsume still has feelings still for Souma and Soma has had feelings for a girl called Morikawa. Komiya, a girl who is heavily invested in photography, takes a photo of the boys trying to hit a baseball and as a result gets intrigued by the new transfer student. It's the basic setup of a bunch of teenagers that are setting goals for themselves while also trying to follow their heart. The romantic side is done well and the characters are very likable... So, 3rd season, I liked where this one was going and was not short of action and intrigue. You got to see some major players that were in the background the whole time and got some stuff figured out, but then you had more questions. Which is ok, because I liked the whole situation of this season, mainly showing that Titans are not the only enemy out there. Animation and sound always on point as always and the opening credits were great. Loved hearing a song by Hyde on there, just so awesome. Characters had in depth issues and backgrounds, was happy to see some of the secondary characters get a good... See full review

One word.... Satisfied  The OVA raps up the ending greatly and leves you with no real questions or emotional cliffhangers. Without the OVA the ending is BLAH but with it the story comes together 10x better and leaves you with a show that you will surly remember and love. I don’t want to say much more because spoilers but if you watched and loved the main story the OVA is a must and I highly recommend it! 10/10  It was great! Thank you to everyone that helped to create this show it was amazing :)

I give it a 6.5-7. Potential spoiler alert- So the basis for this anime is a story about a time traveler. Like all time travel storys its full of bugs or ..how do i say things that dont really add up or make sense. Its a pretty good story and doesnt really start to get really good till about episode 6, 7, 8. The ending felt really short,  but its a short 12 episode series.I heard there was a VN,  but i havent read it. All in all id say if you have an open mind and are a fan of science fiction or a anime kind of like seins gate you might enjoy this. It was okay and had a happy good ending i... See full review

This is the 1996 edited movie version of the Armitage OAV episodes that were released in 1995. It was only released in English, and in a sort of an experiment they hired somewhat big name actors to play the leads, Kiefer Sutherland (24) and Elizabeth Berkley (Saved by the Bell). The result is hit and miss, but a lot of fans will remember this anime movie as one of their gateways into the fandom. After watching the OAVs in their entirety, looking back at the movie version a lot of important scenes were cut out for it, most notably a lot of background on Naomi's brother, also a third. Surprisingly, eX-Driver got a movie. Well, it calls itself a movie, it’s more like an hour long direct-to-DVD special that managed to get a higher budget, which unfortunately means more shitty early 2000s anime CGI to go along with the better animation. After entering and winning a domestic preliminary round, our main trio of characters, Lisa, Lorna, and Soichi, advance to ex-Driver world race competition held in Los Angeles as representative team from Japan. Not long after arriving in LA, an AI car goes haywire, setting of a chain of events that lead out main trio in a conspiracy involving the race... See full review

When a Mysterious Mini-Ai Car terrorizes the city, and it's Up to Nina and Rei to stop it, all while having to deal with something or someone from the eX-Drivers programs past. Out of the entire eX-Driver series, this was probably the most fun entry. It's just disappointing that it took until now in the series to have something fun, only for it to be a not even 30 minute special and be released before the franchise had time to shine and got cancelled. I've found parts in his other series kinda fun, so I went into this hoping to get some fun out of it too. After watching it, I can see why this wasn't as popular as his other woks. Set at some point in the 22nd century, people no longer drive cars themselves, instead of relying on a computer with an artificial intelligence to drive for them. But when the AI systems start losing control, a team call eX-Drivers (or... See full review

The only gripe I have is that again story could of been expanded, because there was like 3 or 4 time jumps and I was wanting to know what happened in that time and wanted to see it, not a time jump and narrator recap of it. Animation and sound were great! I loved seeing the different variations of mechs created and watching them in action, my favorite of course was the Vyver. The episodes are shorter while trying to get more out of the characters campared to last season. They've slowly been changing the formula of the show, putting less focus on the candy and more on the character development. I feel they overadjusted a little too much from last season. They try to set up skits but before you can blink it is already over and they've moved on to the next skit.  Something that I didn't quite understand with the shows new direction is that they wanted Hotaru to have a much higher sexual appeal to then take her out for most of the season. “Bloodivores” is an indication full of various philosophies in it. It makes you ask what really happened to this world? When criminals are toyed with, they really aren’t like that. Staying together is the only way but there is one person who prefers to play outside the rules. Not making everything work, it makes you ask for an intermediary between separate time spaces of reality and unreal. This is a continuation of the full 12 episode AoD. I won't elaborate to much in this review. My review of the 12 ep. AoD is about the same for this one. Picking up from the plot twist, that I enjoyed, it pulls everything together and wraps up in these four episodes. I did like how it was wrapped up, but still wish there was more. Again I see this as a one time watch along with the other twelve episodes.

This anime to me was just ok. The whole plot seemed just something that was to common. Main character needs to get out before being killed and has to go through many trials to do so. There was room to have more "meat" to the show, I just don't think it was there to be honest. I did like the plot twist at episode 12 though, but again it was at episode 12, just think it was to late by then. Animation was great and was done very well, so was sound. Was loving the ending theme and enjoyed it more then the opening one. There was background openings for the two main characters, but I feel again there... See full review

This is the biggest critique that i move to this anime : every character is based on the same psychological profile (also the protagonist, satou matsuzaka, is a psychopath, but a little more clever ). This makes the anime a little annoying if u are searching for something more realistic and balanced.  In spite of the bad creation of characters, i have to say that i liked the plot very much. The movie slots in after episode 22, not that has a huge impact on the rest of the series but there is a moment in the last few episodes where Spike looks over and stares at a little blue ball on his desk. I watched the dub this time around, but when I rewatch I will be watching the sub. As far as I've seen the dub voice actors were well chosen to match close to the sub actors. The animation is phenominal and one I would most certaintly love to see continue on. The overall story was amazing, too. It's not one you can find anywhere else. For a starter anime, this is both one of the best and worst ones to start with because not many animes can compare. However, if you enjoy action, amazing... See full review

I've been on a bit of a "supernatural" kick with my anime choices lately, and after coming out of the isekai kick I was on, I at least got used to there being mass amounts of fanservice.  This even has the label of "ecchi", and certainly lives up to that label...but the last couple episodes showed that it could have been so much more if they didn't focus so much on the fanservice and instead gave more attention to the plot and characters. Plot (there is essentially no real plot until the final two episodes) Basically, it's about a group of high school students who have special... See full review

Potentially could have been an interesting story, obviously if it was much longer, and ideally told in a meloncholy feel (Like the style of Nagi No Asukara). Although, I don't mind short OVA type models like this, it seemed very meaningless when it turned out to be a tire commercial.

Laughing Under the Clouds

Laughing under the clouds is a notheless a beautiful anime about three very close brothers under the meiji era, living their lives laughing, crying and living under the clouds.  The story has it's flaws, and there were times I felt that something was missing. Even so, I couldn't help myself become attached to the three brothers and their beautiful realitionship with each others. To be honest, I have never seen an anime convey such feelings and ties siblings have for each other, until now. i even cried at one time. That definitely brings up it's points. I'm always up for feudal japan animes... See full review

RErideD: Derrida, who leaps through time

In the beginning, I thought it would be more mecha but they really played a background role. It ended up in my view as more of a dystopian romance. I did like how the emphasis was more on the journey and less on the end result of their love.  The main characters were well developed and their motivations were clear from the beginning. The only one who had thei motivation saved until the end was Mage. 7.5 As for story, it started slow and never fully explained the trout theory/time rides and how that all worked. The ending was a beautiful happy loving ending and couldn’t have fit the story... See full review

Steins;Gate

Steins;Gate. Be prepared for a long review, because this show was brilliant. I will tell you this: when I first found this show, I didn't know what to expect. I've never been a mecha or sci fi anime type, preferring instead to divulge myself into the fantasy side of the spectrum. But I was told over and over that this show was definitely worth my time, and boy, am I glad I listened. The story was tight, the characters were realistic (with the exception of Okobe's mad-scientist complex), and the plot-twists around every corner had me hugging my little bread loaf pillow. The show starts off as confusing. I... See full review
