Amagami SS was one of the toughest series I've kinda almost really liked but could not wait for the story to be over. The protagonist is heartbroken after a Christmas break-up. The story begins from this break-up and takes on a Groundhog Day-like series of what might have happened next. The slow development between the broken-hearted main and his might-be future soul mates is wonderfully crafted to portray how true companionship/love comes to be. It's a mostly serious story with the right amount of playful, yet awkward situations. However, by about the fourth "reset" of that... See full review
I don't hate the show actually i like it very much. But i think characters are too exaggerated. They are just highschool brats not god or something.. And I can't stand the fact that Kise can copy emperor eye. Emperor eye is an ability. Not a MOVE. He can't just copy that! That part was really get on my nerves. I was nearly dropped the show... But well its anime.. Like i said i liked the show but some parts were really irritating to me. And I hate Hanamiya. He can die and go to hell. He belongs there for sure. Sorry for bad english lolSee full review
Professional sports team Hearts is comprised of three women: Arrighettie, Korpi, & Sabina. As the oldest Arrighettie’s basically the leader while Korpi’s the brains and Sabina’s the young mess. Sports include an alternative version of capture the flag, figure skating, tennis, mecha-fighting, basketball and more. Female rivalry not over a guy was a breath of fresh air. Maria the Virgin Witch is a fun show with serious undertones. All of the character's were introduced really well, in ways that instantly give you strong impressions of their personalites, though the backstories and pasts of the characters could do with a little more build up, at least for Maria, since you only really get a small snippet of her past. The animation was smooth and easy on the eyes, making it easy to binge watch the show without getting bored visually, and with voices that match the characters well and music which is fitting for the show, as well as nice to listen to, the show... Our story follows Princess Arete, who is confined in the castle tower under the instruction of her her father, the king. He demands that Arete should never have contact with the outside world until she meets a potential suitor for her to marry, and uses these suitors to bring him jewels and powerful magical items from a race of long-dead sorcerers in an attempt to win his admiration and the permission to betroth his daughter. Because of this Princess Arete spends her days watching the world outside of her window. Arete sneaks outside to watch the common people live out their normal lives. One day, a... See full review
Every now and again, there is an anime project done in conjunction with a country outside of Japan. With First Squad, the project was done in conjunction with Japanese animation studio Studio 4C and a Russian company Molot Entertainment. Molot Entertainment doesn’t seem to have done much else besides First Squad besides another animated film called Ivan about a post-apocalyptic world filled with magical creatures such as dragons From what I can find, the company seems to be focused on helping promote independent projects. First Squad itself seems to have an interesting history by itself. Starting out... See full review
Steam Detectives seems to be largely forgotten by the anime viewing fanbase. Not because it’s bad by any stretch, since it seems to have a relatively small fanbase that enjoy it, but rather because it just never really stood out among the other anime coming out at the time. Especially considering that a lot of classic anime were coming out at the time, such as Cowboy Bebop and Serial Experiments Lain, along with popular cultural juggernauts such as Dragon Ball Z, Pokemon, and Sailor Moon. Steam City is a city where the only fuel source is coal, and the only way to produce energy is a steam engine... See full review
Ever think you've got the wierdest family? This anime will show you just how wrong you are. A group of genetically altered people find themselves living under the same roof, tryign to hid their abilites and co-exist with "regular" humans. "Normal" problems like unrequited love, one sided crushes, food etique, acceptable social behavior [from honorifics to public nudity] and basic manners are all rolled up in this anime. Looking for some comedy and a touch of lighthearted fun mixed with serious concerns about where you belong, how to get along, what makes people family, choices... See full review

I only watched the first half of this series. It is definitely a slower paced anime, as it follows the life of a girl named Pollyanna, who is constantly finding things to be glad about even after the death of her father, and she now must live with an aunt she never knew she had. Most of the plot is watching Pollyanna pluck at her aunt's heart strings and her helping cheer up the townspeople. If you were interested in watching this to see a young child overcome her struggles, I would suggest watching other - and better, in my limited opinion - series by World Masterpiece Theatre. Looking for a breath of fresh air? Need a break from the usual genres? Congradulations fellow weeb, here is something different! The plot may seem simple (two men become friends by chance, and their newfound friendship is instantly tested to the extreme), but the emotion that goes into it is so strong that I felt stabs of worry whenever Melos was in trouble, and I was sucked into the story. I'd watch this again just to listen to the credits theme.See full review
Here is such a golden, heartwrenching story that all I can advise you to do is Watch. This. Anime. In my opinpin, it is the best piece produced by Wold Masterpiece Theatre, and the intro theme gives me chills. (Dunno, I'm weird. This isn't new though-) Some people may be put off by the dated animation style of this series, however it did not bother me at all or detract from the viewing experience! The lack of detail in the character designs is makes up for the characters' heartwarming personalities. You fall in love with these children who are doing their best to survive through tough times by relying on... See full review
If you saw this movie thinking it would be some light-hearted children's film, you're in for a surprising twist... Chirin starts out as a cheerful lamb whose main concerns are eating clovers and frolicking in grass. However, when his mother is killed by a wolf without pupils, he sets out to break the laws of nature and become an apprentice of his mother's murderer, hoping to get revenge one day. It is quite the transformation is all I'll say...from this tiny lamb who can barely climb, to a demonic beast that's neither wolf nor sheep.)See full review

Soooooo I haven't actually been able to watch it yet. This is the second anime I've looked at and tried to view on this site. Neither have played. At all. The first one was Rising of the Shield Hero. I'm hoping that this'll motivate the maderators to take a look at what's happening. I really want to be able to binge on here instead of resorting to Youtube. We all know how easy it is to find episodes in the right order and length there. I would've set the ratings blank, but it's acting strangely.See full review
I plain don't understand the people that enjoyed this movie or are praising it. I'm extremely forgiving with my ratings with very few deserving or ending up with a low one... however this is fully deserving, it was a trainwreck of a movie. here are just some of the reasons why: Animation: at best, it looks like a pieced together youtube clip, with some bits pulled from games, others from the show and some from random b-roll footage. in a single fight scene, the art style changes multiple times, not just between drawn and CGI but even the explosions and special effects change on a 5-second basis. as though... it wasnt that bad and i hoped for a second season. it isnt original but it was still good. Outbreak Company manages to take otaku culture and fanservice and combine it with the complexities which come with diplomacy and the mixing of cultures. While the serious tones of the plot bring a certain maturity to Outbreak Company, the inclusion of fanservice and other tropes helps to lighten the overall attitude of the series. However, Outbreak Company still fails to live up to some of my hopes. The characters are bland and lack depth. Where many anime are able to make characters feel deep and real in a single 12 episode season, Outbreak Company is not able to live up to this... See full review
Spectacular indeed ! After the pitiful Battle of Gods, and the eyerolling Resurrection F, Dragon Ball Super finally gives life to the best movie in the Dragon Ball franchise. To say this is surprising is quite an understatement.
I've always been a fan of the original Broly movie and its evil, unredeemable incarnation of the Legendary Super Saiyan. But after seeing Toriyama's canon interpretation, I can confidently say that I love his version even better. Classic Broly was a sadistic and uncontrollable killing machine. Canon Broly is an abused child who grew up to become an untamed animal of immmense... See full review

I absolutely loved this! I was worried about it being cliche, but it really stands out in the hero genre! I love that Izuku is not an all powerful, perfect character. He has his flaws and weaknesses, but it is his determination that truly makes him stand out. He grows so much and I love watching him develop into a true hero. I also love Todoroki. He has this internal struggle because of his father, and I loved watching him completely accept his quirk. I also loved watching his character development. I also admire Bakugo even though he can be a bully. I can't wait to see his character growth.See full review
There was a suprising amount of depth to this anime, and even had me feeling emotional at times (especially during the finale). The development of many characters (Akko, Diana, Ursula and Andrew particularly) was great and the animation is so pretty! I have a feeling I will be watching this again!See full review
I am not going to bother with plot holes, since the movie retcons the backdrop of the Saiyans as well as a character who was not canon up until this point. No matter what I say about the changes, it won’t matter in terms of continuity and it’s not the first time Toriyama changed the origin of the Dragonballs or the cause behind the destruction of planet Vegeta.
I’m going to limit my impressions to plot aesthetics and say the way Saiyans are portrayed now makes them look like pansies. The 90s Saiyans were badasses and only cared about fighting and killing. There was no love and... See full review
Ok let me just Stat out by Saying That there are anime that are good, anime that are bad and anime that are just plain wierd. Jack and the beanstalk is just plain wierd. The origional story of Jack and the beanstalk is very straight forword so if your going to adapt into a movie you will need to stretch it. This movie does that but unfortionatly does it alot. Every plot point feels like it drags. The climaxs is the worst were after everything is taken care of they stretch the movie out until the end. Imagene if in Beauty and the Beast everyone kept goffing around after the curse was... See full review

It's kinda difficulty to outright find a hentai (despite the fact that this series claims it's an echhi series, it has full blown explicit sex, so I'm probably going to call it a hentai anyway) that's just fun to some degree. Sure, most hentai is supposed to be fun since it's trying to cater to someones fetish first and foremost, but it's not that often that the stuff around that sex is meant to be just as entertaining. That's where "Joshiochi!: 2-kai kara Onnanoko ga... Futtekita!?" (Eng: A Girl Comes... Falling from the Second Floor?!) comes in.

I have only watched the first 2 episodes and I already love this anime series beyond words can describe. If you want a relaxing anime with comedy, slice of life, and positive feels, then this anime is for you. The set atmosphere of this series so far is so relaxing. I have not seen any intense stress or drama like in other anime. It's like if you want a break from all those moments in anime where one of the main characters (That you grow attached to) might as well suddenly die...if you want none of that, this anime is for you. So far, no one dies. Thank god. This anime is just peaceful and... See full review
As an avid lover of Dragonball and Broly I gotta say it was tolerable at best. SPOILERS!! They simply took to many short cuts explaining Brolys power and past. It makes Raditz story and explanation wrong if not a lie now in the beginning of Z to Goku. Honestly the fights where okay to much CGI and whatever the Negative time shit with Gogeta and Broly was Garbage. As much as I hate to admit it, this movie is exactly what I thought it was going to be. Just and over hyped decent Dragonball movie that is just an excuse to make Broly and Gogeta relevant and cannon at the same... See full review
I expect a certain level of cliché and tropes in fantasy anime but this one went too far. On top of that it's aimless, no story, no objective. Some people compare it to SAO... thst is laughable. I wasn't a huge fan of SAO I just enjoyed it, but it at least had a point "getting out of the game before too many people die". This one was a waste of time.See full review
Do not expect Hajime no ippo. This series is about the struggle of poverty, in a boxing setting. This emphasized by the inclusion of machine assistance. You will not see any distinct techniques or styles used. No special training the main character does not undergo any special training nor does he possess special abilities. It is all about the main character training hard, allegedly, and being persistent. His fundamental style is even emphasized in the script.
I felt that details in everything was missing like; information about the gears, techniques, training and contradictions... See full review
Mysterious Girlfriend X is an interesting story, to say the least. The anime consists of what I would like to say fan service. This is largely due to the fact, that there have been more mentions to sex than I tried to count in the show. The roles the character play is quite basic. A quiet girl gets noticed by a guy and she starts to come out of her shell, type of story plot. Although he becomes addicted to her spit, rather than really noticing her in the first place. In the end, why I like the plot it is basic and in some ways very weird.See full review
I haven't watched that much anime in my life, but I feel like a can write a helpful review nonetheless. (without major spoilers, I think) The animation style in this Anime is very nice, they don't use computer animation at all but that could be because of the lack of action driven scenes. The lighting in this Anime is very beautiful, it fits perfectly with the fantasy world narrative. The fantasy worlds, even though they aren't schown very long or in depth, are dreamy and exactly what you'd expect from typical environments that inhabit fairies, elves, dwarves, mermaids, dragons, knights, princesses and... I wasn't looking forward to this movie at all. After all that travesty Dragon Ball Super left a lot of bitter taste. Not to speak of Dragon Ball movies in general, which were subpar addition to the series, except the Future Trunk movie. However I have to say compared to the old Broly movie, this one is way better in every regard. I would argue it's even better than the Dragon Ball Super itself. You should watch it if you like either of those previously mentioned you're, I dare to say, guaranteed to have a good time. Following review contains some spoilers after this point. Review in Brief If you are someone who is old enough to have lived through the "golden age of gaming" when arcades were all the rage, this anime series might strike you as something special. For the rest of us (myself included), the nostalgia factor is lost on us and instead this series feels like a mix between a bad romantic comedy and a documentary on the early days of the video game industry. Story At its heart, the plot is about two young kids who grow their relationship over their mutual love of video games. However, this over-arching plot plays second fiddle to the... See full review
Tamayura: Hitotose is the follow up of the 2010 four episode OVA. This series follows four friends as they deepen their friendship and follow their dreams. Big or small. Note: The following is a brief reflection of my personal feelings on the film rather than a comprehensive review. Having just watched Mary and the Witch's Flower I find myself leaving the experience feeling quite disappointed. When I first heard about the film I was quite excited at the prospect of the newly created Studio Ponoc taking up the mantle of Studio Ghibli and creating a brand new work of a similar style and subject matter. The trailer made the film look fantastic; however, the trailer itself turned out to be more fantastic than the movie. In hindsight I realise that I should... See full review
Sword of the Stranger is an entertaining tale if you are into beautifully animated fight scenes (surprised considering it is over 10 years old) and... if you love dogs? (Which I do so haha!) If you like anime with wild abominations, OP main characters, and are light on story but heavy on monster battles, then you should like this. Otherwise, probably give this a pass.
The plot is very basic, it has some intrigue at least, but not a lot of substance. It plays like a movie, the individual episodes are not complete in themselves. Which I don't mind, when the story is well developed.
The animation is terrible, the illustrations lack complexity both in colour and detail. Limb movement is... ape-like? simplistic like a flash animation, anyway.

Tamayura is a four episode OVA (two episode OVA on the site I watched it on as the first two episodes were combined and so were the last two) that kick starts a heartwarming slice of life series. Tamayura: Hitotose follows (and then it's OVA) and then Tamayura: More Aggressive (and it's OVA), followed by four movies which bring the series to a close. I'm currently waching Hitotose and just basking in the cuteness that is this series! xD Now, I shouldn't have to state the obvious but... the series is SLICE OF LIFE, which means that it's a very slow paced series. Since the other review criticizes the character I feel the need to explain the plot a little. Yes the main female is pretty selfish, that's the point. The short is about modern society's relation to its past. The spirit can't function in our current world and the woman's attempts to integrate the past/spirit is damaging. Society must move forward first (shrine destruction) it's wrong to ignore the past and let it die (adoption), but keeping it around isn't good either (the rest), so we have to separate the past from modern life (end). It's just an unfortunately part of life that we have to just accept. The... See full review
I'm writing this review as episode 38 just came out (though frankly, that should be far enough into season 2 for a fairly accurate rating; we'll see if I need to make any adjustments by the final episode). The first season (episodes 1-25) were what I would have loved to see in the original/first anime because it felt more true to the characters and we actually learned more about them and what made them who they are. Season two of this (skipping the recap episode, season two starts at episode 27) has taken what started to be a superb retelling of the first anime and turned it into flaming garbage...
