Puella Magi Madoka Magica

Disclaimer: Magical girls just aren't something I can get into Story: Madoka is a teenage girl who learns about the existence of magical girls, who, in exchange for having a wish granted, agreed to fight witches - terrible creatures that trap weak humans and hurt/kill them. Then she spends half of the season deciding if she wants to become one herself. The story itself is fairly sweet - you have your cute girls, crushes, friendships, futuristic setting, sacrifices and huge amounts of love. First five episodes were pretty boring to me, second half of the season picks up the pace and the ending is fairly... See full review

ry: Yato is a failed God - he has no shrine, no followers and his Divine Instrument just quit, leaving him defenseless in fighting the Ayakashi - evil spirits of sorts. One day he meets a girl who ends up changing his life... Let me start off by saying that I've seen this anime around, but the premise didn't seem that original or interesting, so I always avoided watching it. However, first episode is quite interesting and sucks you right in, especially if you're a sucker for shounen. Season itself has minor plot twists and seems to serve like an introduction, a lot of questions are left unanswered but... The anime was hella rushed and I barely knew any of the characters! I'm very disappointed and I don't even know if I can continue. The story made no sense and they shoved so many chapters in one season. The animation was fine although it was kind of weird, but no complaints. The soundtrack was fine, no complaints about that either. The characters had no development and Touka was barely in it! So, it was the characters and story that were disappointing.

Steins;Gate Movie: Load Region of Deja Vu

the first quarter of this movie feels like it's either pandering super hardcore Steins;gate fanservice, or it's a means to sell this as a stand-alone project so that newcomers get a brief glimse into what the series was like. i am ambivent either way, but aside from what i deem a sort of weak opening to the movie, things do progressively get as dark and surreal as you would want and expect of this franchise. i understand that these characters tend to be stuborn, but there were times where it just felt like the drama was a bit stale, and not that it wasn't completely realistic considering the... I remember watching this a while back but I don't remember why I didn't actually have it marked off on this website. But anyway here's the review now. Pros: Lots of bouncing boobs. Cons: No story, no character development. ~SPOILERS~ There's nothing special or great or even mediocre about the series. Breasts boobs tits mammary udders, whatever you want to call them this Series has it in abundance. There's really not much for me to spoil in in two separate episodes. It takes one hour to watch both episodes if you can't waste away 1 hour watching some sort of fanservicey sorta mini harem-esq series then... See full review

I usually love Haram/Ecchi anime, its usually the only genre I watch. That’s why I was exited for this anime. The characters are boring, the story is irritating even for haram standards. Mana is the most annoying character I’ve ever seen. The straw that broke the camel’s back was episode 9. It was a complete yaoi fest. I couldn’t make it halfway through the episode. Huge disappointment of an anime.

Since there is no rating, no reviews, and the summary is terrible I think the Mods can tolerate this being public for now.

So to add to the summary above:

Now, one man... and a woman demonstrate their ability to wear the same outfit everyday. As they unravel the mystery of their friend's death and bring the unknown purpetrators to justice.

I remember when I first watched this back in like 2011. I thought it was the best romantic anime I had ever seen. But after trying to rewatch it this year, this is not the case anymore by a long shot. It's just full of so many anime tropes, the worst one being the dad, who's only trait is "Creepy Pervert". I'd be ok with with the tropes if Kashimashi told a good story, it doesn't.

Honestly... The reason I decided to watch this series was that I was in love with the animation, Kill la Kill, and was hoping to see if they made another anime that had the amazing action scenes. It was a lot different, but I enjoy the story plot, even though I stop watching it after episode five. It was overall a good anime, but it's not really a good recommendation for a lot of people.

This was a relatively mellow comedic slice of life anime, one which I happened to enjoy so much to take the time to write a review for. Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku takes a different approach to the slice of life animes/romantic comedy sterotypes with the average high school boy who has 1+ girls in love with him but is too dense to realize such. The characters here aren't too dense in my opinion, and the relationships are actually acknowledged here. I feel as if there are some the characters(not saying who specifically) I could actually relate to. P.S. Apologies if this isn't very helpful; however... See full review

First off the story in general, not that great pretty basic actually. However this is not my main problem with the anime. If a story is going to use a religion as a key point in their story they should at least learn the basic beliefs of said religion instead of making up nonsense. My point being a core belief in Christianity that EVERYONE can be forgiven and NOBODY is is too "unclean" to be loved by God. This next sentence may be slightly spoilery
.
The plot-line that a character decided that they were unforgivable and needed to atone with their life because they... See full review

Loved the continuation of the story, all the questions that were answered and Levi's backstory but COME ON. Seems like they are just rushing along. For me, it did not have the dread, distress and edge of the previous two seasons. I was on the edge of my seat.  That being said, the fights scenes between the scout regiment and their hunters is amazing. This anime still is unmatched in certain areas, I just wish they would get the writing and characters back on point.

Finding gems like this is what I enjoy the most. I throughly enjoyed the music. The only reason I found this anime was because someone used the track "The First Layer" in a completely unrelated post on Instagram. I then Shazamed the snippet and downloaded the track, which lead me to YouTube "Made in Abyss" OST. After a few more tracks I decided to look up the anime and what it was about. This is by no means an anime for those of weak fortitude. The story revolves around 2 main characters Riko and Reg (which you can read in other reviews) and their journey to the bottom of a massive and... See full review

FLCL is a very interesting anime to me. On one hand, I find the music, animation and even drama to be very unique and different but on the other hand, I don't really find this anime to be funny. Like at all. I know this anime is a comedy but FLCL thinks that weird faces and noises is funny. Which to some people it might be but for me, I kinda wish that FLCL would have taken itself a bit more seriously because I love the animation and music, and even the characters.

Outlaw Star is a well-thought anime, with good actions scenes, some character development and that typical 90's anime design many of us love. That being said, let's get to more specific details!  Plot and characters The plot is very meaningful and can stand up for itself without needing all the fanservice we get nowadays. It has 26 episodes and a good 10 or more are fillers, which may seem like a pain, I know, but hear me out! I see fillers as a subterfuge to get... See full review

I'll be honest, the plot was the funniest I've watched. Every episode had me crying at the comedy, even if I watched the anime 3 times. The animation is a little on the down side, but that because the show was around 2008, I believe. The sound was really great. Characters were all different and showed time for each episode. The manga is also well written, seeing how the ending it. I say you should read it.

Shortly after watching the mediocrity that is 'Angolmois' I see 'Hidamari No Ki'- and find just what I was looking for in a historical fiction anime.

STORY

Adapted from a manga written in the early 80's by the 'God of Manga' Osamu Tezuka, 'Hidamari No Ki' takes place during the final years of the Tokugawa Shogunate, when Japan rapidly transitioned both politically and culturally from the medieval to the modern world. For an American example, you'd have to compare this era to the Civil War in the way it both defined and fundamentally changed the nation, and in the amount of weight it carries in... See full review

Which of course makes me even more curious, I am a stubborn old man afterall. I've got to admit, this isn't the best anime in the world, and sometimes it fell a bit flat, but all the same it struck a nerve with me: a bunch of protags trying to find their place - and what they want - in the world resonated to the point I was openly crying once the last episode went off. Over twenty five episodes you care for these characters, much like in Shirobako, and I suppose I was finding comfort in the themes of this show as I go through my own tumultuous year, desperately trying to find what it is I want to do. Sakura Quest will keep a place in my heart for that reason.

Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to what's gonna be an unpopular review for 2 reasons. 1)This anime seems to be controversial and 2)because it features broken as fuck characters as the main attraction. Now these 2 reasons might seem a bit vague but worry not as i'll explain the idiocy behind people's hatred for this anime later on. So off with the story where we meet Erika who struggles to fit in with her classmates and resorts to making shit up to make herself seem more interesting than she is. Honestly I was enjoying the show but that final episode was awful, it felt like the writers were trying to keep going in case they were allowed to do a season 2 but on the final deadline just made an ending. It was like being on a train and then in the last meter to the end the train derailed. If you watch this show I think I would say to skip the final episode.

Laid-Back Camp

Its a generic happy story but with cool views of area's around MT Fuji.  Its main story line is about camping and the outdoors.  If you like the outdoors especially camping I would recommend it.  If you just want a happy friendship story I would recommend it.  The only negative is that it promotes camping alone at a young age.  I would definately not recommend camping alone at a young age especially as a young woman.  Just another add on rarely is camping in the winter that easy or that much fun.
