A Silent Voice

caitace's avatar
Dec 12, 2018

When I heard of ‘A silent voice’ my source was not very thorough so I just thought I was going to be reading about a deaf girl and her difficult experiences throughout her life. Though as I got deeper into the movie I realized it’s wasn't just that. I was surprised about not the fact of how dark this movie is but how real it is. STORY While it’s fine to admire the story, because it really is an astonishing and enchanting story, you must really think about how realistic it is. No matter where you go, there's always going to be someone Shouko Nishimiya (someone who’s... See full review

I really enjoyed this comedy series. It poked fun at every anime I ever watched & a few I didn't watch. I usually skip the dubbed version but this was a hoot in both. It was released in 2016 & needs a season 3 which as I understand will be released but it has been almost 3 years so the next season is way over due. Spoiler below My main complaint is it ended on a cliff hanger. Even in a comedy I hate loose ends/cliff hangers. That had me knocking 1 star off my overall rating. Despite this, it is still worth watching.

I really feel like this should have had the amount of time a movie has in order to flesh out the characters and the story. It feels sucky knowing that the ova could have been better if it had a better budget, which is probably why they ended up using CGI. I do have an obsession with prisons in anime, and hearing Evangelion actress Tiffany Grant felt nice, although one good actress isn't enough. And when he isn't shouting, Greg Ayres actually sounds okay, too bad a majority of his roles has him shouting. Sadly, the story just didn't get enough polish, it just feels like a wasted effort.

Rated low because it's so short; there's no time to really build anything. But, the animation style was very cute! It was great from an artistic standpoint.  The subbing was horrible, but good enough to understand. I laughed a little when one of them told the other to "Shut your fuck up". It's only nine minutes, watch it if you want to.

I'm writing this review after finishing the original 12 eps, and then the 4 additional ones of the web series.     This anime was exactly like every other anime I've seen that was based on a video game. Some parts of it were so drawn out, I never want to hear anyone say "Please kill me", or "promise" for a very long time. Around the part where they get to the church floor, I wanted so badly to drop this anime, but powered through due soley to having to finish a show once I start it.     The characters, who seem interesting enough at first, run... Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku

Rudeboy's avatar
Dec 11, 2018

I was really struggling to enjoy Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku and a lot of it had to do with how little affection there is between the couples. It felt like I was just watching a group of friends just hang out and just looking out for each other. I wouldn't even say that there is a lot of chemistry between the characters, it's more like they've all just settled with  mediocre relationships. Their odd hobbies get mentioned a lot but I actually feel that it's not really that big of an issue in the series itself. Most of the time is spend at the office, at a place where they can eat & drink or at... See full review

Tho Sora is pretty annoying and acting all spoiled she wants Haruka ffs INCEST ANIME HERE. It would be good too if it got a hentai with them 2. Overall it got a 8 wasn't really into how they made everyone like Haruka and Sora being more and more spoiled. Only at 3rd episode and it can be a full rated anime. Hope it don't got a twist in the anime with someone dying or Sora and Haruka hating eachother and being not in a relationship.

The first episode I thought had potential it kind of reminded me of yamato nadeshiko shichi henge, girl transforms into a beauty she didn't think she had. But then it get's incestual, spoiler but kissing your sister in her sleep not cool. They try to pass it by they being in-laws but he still callers her aneki so it feels incestual. There is a sex scene. I really wished it didn't go that route.

Boring spinless male lead: Check 3+ women harem: Check Fanservice: Check Welcome to your standard rom/com formula since Love Hina! Points for otaku subculture? Not really. So you've stumbled onto my review of Saekano: How to make a Rom/Com 1999 eddition. So disappointed.  SO SO VERY DISAPPOINTED! SAO is such a damm great anime series!!!! And this was a fanboy movie with idiotic vocaloid type idol singing with one of the worst plots and stories. I was so bored I had to take an entire day to watch it. The enemy is a boring character and it doesnt flow, with a LOT of filler garbage. Imagine an OVA turned Into a movie, it's a snore fest. The fighting was par to subpar, and the story was choppy, one scene to the next with no really good plot point. Oh just watch it for yourself when you cant sleep.

Overrated. The monsters are hilarious looking, not scary at all so you cant call it "horror". I could see someone getting eaten alive by bunny rabbits and I think I would die laughing... in other words, just because it's trying to kill you, it doesnt make it scary to watch. The characters are boring. The story doesnt progress and stays too dysphoric in a boring way. He gets eaten and turns into some ANNOYING SOUNDING MONSTER... wow. Not enough explanation, sorry I dropped it. I really tried guys... I tried 1.5 seasons, time can be wasted watching truly good animes, there are so many

Okay, this is a review for the other seasons as well. It started off so good! Cool main characters. But his fire hand classmate is obnoxiously annoying with the anger. Too much "thought commentary"  and he gets his ass kicked too badly, too often for the main character. There ends up being TOO MANY DAMN MAIN CHARACTERS!!! Its another one of those "names are important" animes. He is breaking his arms and legs and fingers through the whole first and a half seasons... that's ridiculous. Second season is all about Olympic games... SNORE! Very slow progression, too much banter dialogue... See full review

extremely overrated! Light has this "gift" to kill whomever he wants by writing a name. That's awesome! Then L and his organization somehow knows about it by figuring it out... okay. Then L dies and he had others even more "intuitive" than he? Come on... first off, L is overly eccentric (or annoyingly childishly idiotic). Secondly, it starts off okay, then Light gets all crazy (pointlessly laughing/childish anger- style crazy that so many poor anime have adopted). I'm not into overrated crap. The story is repetitive like most overrated anime, the main demon creature isnt even scary... See full review

I wished it could have been a longer anime but I understand why it was not more episodes since there was no reason. if you want something light, cute and funny just to pass some time or to make you smile a bit I recommend this anime.

We got a few more songs, and Lindo's new song is weird but good, it's on my playlist now. My ship of the show personally is Rem X Riska, but whatever! Let us just let that slide by the fact that they are c o u s i n s. They were even raised like siblings which makes this creepier. In my opinion, this is different from Black Butler with the ship Ciel X Lizzy. They both grew up knowing they were going to get married in the future... See full review

The main cast goes on a holiday which leaves the side characters to defend the city. It does show the depth of the side characters but at the same time you can say that you do miss the main characters in this little adventure. Fun little experiment, also cool to see previous villians act more as heroes. The animations and art are fantastic yet again.  bit more focus on the boobs and panties, specially from both sister pairs... again, i like sweet things but I do feel this is another show that went a little too sweet for my liking.

Before I start, I want to say I watched the English Dub. It was TRASH. Watch the Sub, or better yet, read the manga. I know I'm going to! I liked Say "I Love You" overall. The characters were likable in their own ways, some more so than others. The main character, Mei, in my opinion, was just a little too dense, over dramatic and shy. But that's her character development baseline I suppose. To show the contrast from her at the begining and her at the end of the story. Her mom was cool though, letting her do lots of things with her boyfriend all the time and even helping their relationship... See full review

"Cells at Work!" may be one of the most popular anime in the season. However, I see this anime more than education and entertainment but it's like something that flows in our body as well as the world that's in it. When I finished watching this anime, I was just a bit nihilistic in each episode. Nihilistic in terms of not the term itself but everything you watch as if it runs directly in your body. Indeed, science exceeds everything. "Cells at Work!" easier to understand visually and make you understand more about cells and others. In addition, they live in a society side by side. They... Yozakura Quartet was a bit of a dissapointment, Yozakura Quartet: Hoshi no Umi was insanely good and Yozakura Quartet: Hana no Uta falls in between the both of them. Yozakura Quartet gets treated as the ugly stepchild and that's pretty accurate. So I realized halfway through the season that Yozakura Quartet: Hoshi no Umi should be watched halfway through the show, things will make a lot more sense and it all flows a lot better. Its about killing teacher, thats one plus too.
