The Promised Neverland

The world is not what it seams. This story will grant you a glimpse at a wonderful utopia, only to turn it into what a utopia really is, a no place. Each episode of this completely original story will leave you at the edge of your seat feeling a need to see more. The animation is brilliant and shines very well, drawing you into the world. The motion is fluid and well done and the details and expressions are top notch. The sound is perfect. It is juxtaposes with events heightening emotion and lends a deep tone to many parts of the tale. The characters, though not all fully fleshed out, are each fascinating... See full review

Maquia - When the Promised Flower Blooms

Another one of those movies that should've been a series instead. I felt like there was too much going on. It flies thru events too quickly and just only brushes over the aspects that I wanted to see explored more. There wasn't enough time for me to feel sad for anybody, and what I think made most people cry was probably the right sound track. Anyways, it is an OK movie, but personally I think it could have been better if it concentrated on maybe 1 or 2 things only instead of 100. For a movie less is more.

The MC, Yu, has a special ability - he can posses people for a very short period of time. He soon gets found out by another wielder and is forced to transfer to new school for people with special abilities. There he joins the student council which sole purpose is to hunt down other people with special abilities and make them join the school. And so for the first 6 episodes you may think this is pretty much all there is to this anime + some other nonesense that doesn't add to the story at all. After 6 episodes somebody realized this was getting really boring and perhaps it's time to throw in some drama... See full review

As a disclaimer, my friend and i have watched this anime every year for five years.  This will be our sixth year.  You"d think since we watch it every year, this anime must be amazing and that we love it.  Not so. STORY: If you are looking for a well thought out and carefully written plot, this is not the anime for you.  If, however, you are looking for a good time, you may be in luck.  Peach Girl revolves around mostly high school drama, love triangles, and occasionally weird nurse romance sub plots that are just really strange and don't contribute to the story that... Story: 9.5/10 I thought the plot was very interesting and always made me want to watch the next episode. Each episode had me completely entranced. The stories of each of the characters were so facinating and made me so emotional. The only thing was that in the beginning it seems like the episodes didn’t flow with eachother however, i didn’t have any problem with it. Animation: 10/10  Listen... this is probably biased because I love Madhouse but i don’t care lol. I thought the animation was amazing especially near the endings of each episode. Story  6/10 A girl wants to become her deceased sister but falls in love. Another desperately seeks affection. It's not bad, but not great either. The main issue I have about the story is the overall theme "just stay as you are, never change or I will stop loving you" - and this is very angering. It's a slice of life, so to real plot or anything ever happens, apart from the cliched (and so, so overused) school festival - another reason to deduct points. Animation  8/10 Nothing stands out, although the style is decent and pleasant to watch. The character design is well done. Sound... See full review

Hajime no Ippo: The Fighting!

This anime is one of my favorites because of its softer approach to many situations in life. Although Ippo must face challengers in the ring as foe, he still finds ways to remain close and friendly to them, making the whole anime's message conveyed clearly. The animation and story balance humor, emotion, and plot in order to make this a very effective, family-friendly anime.  P.S. I actually hadn't heard of this one before until I realized we had the game (Boxing Revolution) at our house.

Gurren Lagann is fun, fast, and good. I love this thing, there's no way to describe it. It's not as good as Kill La Kill in my opinion, but it's sure to be a hell of fun.

Some backstory to start, my first anime was SAO. I immediately watched it over and over. Soon enough I found Kill La Kill, and I realized that SAO was garbage in comparison, and immediately switched to watching Kill La Kill multiple times.  Kill La Kill saved me from being a casual weeaboo, and has kept me going. If I'm ever bored, just rewatch Kill La Kill, tired, why not Kill La Kill? Usually I'll switch to another anime to extend my knowledge of my weeaboo capacity, but I cannot stop myself from coming back. Its addictive, its fun, its loud, it has some of the best action I've seen in an anime, and... See full review

Ah, SAO. After watching SAO, (my first anime(regrettably)) I continued with the second season, "Sword Art Online II". The first 14 episodes of SAO were decent, in fact I'd say end the anime right there, if not for the lack of a proper ending. They wanted it to last, and so the next 14 episodes were 'meh' at best. Then they made this, a second season to my everlasting endurance round of watching anime. The GGO aspects are odd, I never really enjoyed the first half of this season, and it pained me to watch it. Afterward, in the second half of the season, we return to ALO. This half is split in two... See full review

If you have never seen anime, this is a start. If you have seen anime before, it is much harder to endure. This was my first anime and I watched it multiple times. Shortly after, I watched Kill La Kill, and realized that the story and characters of SAO are flawed in many ways. Through my first runthrough, I didn't notice, neither did any of my weeaboo pals. I've since seen many more anime, and can safely say that the first 14 episodes of SAO are decent, everything after that is a sort of drag. The rest of the series in general is a downhill slide in my opinion, being it's worst in GGO. I have to give credit... See full review

Hotarubi no Mori e or The Light of a Firefly Forest is truly a remarkable movie I will never forget! (Based off my understanding) SPOILER ALERT AHEAD  Story: the story holds alot of meaning to it even if it only last for 40 minutes. The story is about 6 year old Hotaru Takegawa who is visiting her uncle for the summer. She was playing the mountain god's forest when she got lost and sat down and started crying. She then meets cursed Gin who helps her out of the forest. She then returns the next day to give him a thank you present, but that then turns into every summer. As Hotaru grows... See full review

Kirara is an OVA that has caught my attention a few months ago because of its original concept (and because I’m a sucker for ovas/series from the 80s), but it turned out to not live by my expectations. Wanna know why? Then go ahead and keep reading. The show tells the story of Kirara, a 24 year old girl who dies in a car accident on the day of her wedding and is sent 8 years back, when she and her future husband hasn’t started dating yet. On paper it sounds good, but the execution left a lot to be desired since they tried to cram way too much content in too little time. It’s especially... See full review

I personally though School-Live! Was and is an amazing anime. The story was pretty creative. I liked how they gave the characters pretty clear roles in the group. I also really enjoyed the characters themselves. They all had varying personalities that are fairly memorable. The ending was amazing in my opinion. It made me laugh and cry at the same time, only one other anime (as of right now) has made me do that. I would recommend this to people who really like short but sweet animes that also have a good balance between intensity and lightheartedness.

I was just looking for some light anime to watch to pass the time honestly and came across Haven't You Heard? I'm Sakamoto. To put it shortly it wasn't worth my time. Every episode has two different stories about how Sakamoto helps some rando new character in the most dramatic and over the top way. It was supposed to be funny I guess but it came across super cringe. To be fair the animation and sound are really good. There is no character development at all nor did I feel any attachment to any of the characters. Sakamoto himself is a weirdo too lol.

The first season was honestly better. This season they focused more on fighting and side characters. The problem with this is there isn't really any risk in fighting and this makes that boring. And the side characters fill more like filler than anything. I ended up fast forward a few episodes because of this and I don't feel like I missed anything. Lastly, it should be noted it will be a few years at minimum before we get another season. It's 2019 now and I believe we have mostly all the reading material covered, and that is what we are waiting on.

I LOVE this anime. One of the few I can watch with a smile on my face. I took off a star because the story was ended at a cliffhanger, which I do not appreciate. Look, if they want another season, let the anime stand on it's own merits. No reason to be cheesy and not wrap up the story, unless there is a signed contract for the next season. Sheeze. Other than that, this is a great anime & it has become my favorite.

Honestly, this is a really good show. I found it takes a good 3 to 5 ep for it to pick up. But after it picked up, it actually turned out to be a really really really good show. Long story short, this is another show where some people get stuck in a game world. Unlike the other shows, this focuses a lot less on fighting and more on politics and day to day. And while the fighting is OK, it's boring. There is no real risk to the people since they are OP. But in politics and day to day, they aren't OP. As far as it being like SOA. So I gave it a chance. Story: At first it was very confusing. Time travel itself is an iffy element in a lot of series that if not utilised well can really disrupt the flow of things. I'm asuming that everyone is capable of reading a description so I won't bother with that and get right into the meat of it. It was alright. Not gonna lie, the story and characters follow a very simple archetype, the protagonist is OP, the world is falling into danger of ending, yadda yadda yadda. What I DID like is that, despite the harem-esque aspect of it, it still retains itself as an actual anime. It has an actual plot and tries to move forward (albeit sluggishly) and doesn't desolve into pure fan-service *cough* to-love-ru *cough*. You may see other reviews complain about "loli-con"... This anime had potential but never got off the ground. It relies on "because" to explain almost everything. Makes it kinda lame actually. It feels like all of these secrets are being kept from you ready to pound you at the end and then just fizzles out, not in a satisfactory way like watching the coals of a fire burn down but like a dud firework. It just decides that it is done and so it ends. It was entertaining enough but only if you want something that just takes time.

In my opinion, this anime is kinda overdone. In a nut shell it's yet another show where a person/group is zap to another world. Everything is based on games (kinda like No game No life). They were summon to help some town/group/kingdom and solve their destruction. Where this falls flat is the characters. The people who gotten summon mostly are staying around more than less simply because they are bored. To top it off, they are all OP and there is 0 risk to them. After about 3 ep out of 10 I dropped the show. It honestly is just OK as a time killer. I would suggest just checking out No Game No Life... See full review

I think my biggest problem with this given show is it can be extermely confusing with how it kept going back in time. Like if you didn't know what was going on (like me) it would take a search or a few ep to figure out what is going on. However, it is a very very very good show other than that. Like a lot of people might get turned off from the brother sister thing. But assuming you can overlook that, I think it's a good story. First off, I will watch this if they make another season. But I doubt this will happen after looking into it. TLDR:  It's the average story of someone/group gets sent to some game like world. They become OP way too fast (within their first attack actually). And you have a bunch of girls (most of them are slaves) around him. But one of them (which is 10 or 12) wants to marry him. Normally, I like to criticize animes for moving too slowly at first at the expense of really, really flat villains. You start slow as a nobody, find an omnikiller, and rise to the top rapidly. One minute you're killing the spider queen, and the next thing you know, you're jumping 20 sharks fighting utopia gasses on Mars. That kind of thing. This anime skips right to the fight the villains part. While this leads to a consistent over-the-top functionally-nude action-packed anime, it suffers from suuuper flat main characters. Angel's Egg is the best anime you probably never seen or heard of. It's one of those movies you will either love or hate. There's probably no in between with this one. For the record, it has been stated that the director doesn't even know what the film is about. There are long discussions online, where the movie is broken down scene by scene, in great detail. Even with that statement, one thing is... See full review

K-On!!

K-on continues with it's feel good vibe but in comparison to the first season there is a bit more emphasis on the girls having to decide their futures. Also Azusa takes up the spotlight a bit more this season as she's the only girl that's not in the same class and won't graduate at the same time as the others. The animations are still gorgeous, the characters are still as bubbley as ever and their chemistry is still amazing as ever which really makes this show such an easy watch. Sawako, their teacher, still steals the show for me due to her trying to hide her metal past and becoming more of an... See full review

When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace

First of all, I would like to give the anime "When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace" my personal award: <<Best Harem in Anime Award!>> Because unlike other harem shows I've seen, this one actually goes deeper into the relationships rather than having a bunch of random girls liking a guy for no particular reason (I'll elaborate more later in the review).  Second, the title is very misleading. There is close to no... See full review

Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?

I feel like this show is a SAO clone with a Percy Jackson theme. You have the plucky young loner that levels up super fast. He grows an annoying harem, fights through a tower of enemies, and somehow gains the power to be the only one that can kill things. It's enjoyable and aesthetically pleasing, but don't expect it to feel original or deep.

I would say watch this for the art and not the story. The story is the rip off of Fate/stay night. Where you have people/groups that are fighting for a wish. But the fight doesn't really interact with the real world. And there isn't much in the way when it of anything else when it comes to this.  So as an art project. I would say a 10 out of 10. Everything else, ...

story: its like a boring and bad version of Scum's Wish (which is btw super f**king good). they tried to write good character development, but instead you just have shite people doing dumb shite, and everyone is an immature child. While it IS entertaining, and has some decent fan service. the writting just make you hate every character on a deeply personal level. Rui is the only intelligent character. please let this show end soon.  TL:DR, dont write a character development type harem story if every character is just going to be a vapid immature shit disturber. #wincest... In Another World With My Smartphone

Honestly, this is a good time kill but nothing more. It looks like it's a single season and looking into I doubt it will be brought back. Plus everything was kinda wrapped up in the last episode. The problem I have with this show is it tries to be more adventure than slice of life. The problem with this is the main character is OP. It isn't known of anyone who can do all magic, but this person can. The kingdom just gives the guy stuff (I know why, but notice how he doesn't have to go on anymore quest and they cut the guild after a point). All the women/girls around him want to sleep with him. Instead of... See full review
