To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts

besma0003's avatar

I have a different opinion than other reviewers on here. This story feels like it was dedicated to veterans and what they go through on the battlefield and once they get home. The Sacred Beasts were heroes of war, but once the war was over, they were left to deal with their scars on their own. Once their scars overcame their sanity, they were hunted down and exterminated.  The plot isn't the greatest. It could have been done better. But it's a reminder about the reality of war, especially civil war. Every one of the Sacred Beasts was a gentle person before the military turned them into a science... See full review

Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories 6th Season

The stories in this season seemed ok, I don't know what it was, just didn't grab my attention as much. There were some stories I thought were good though: The Dripping, Tree of Innocence and Echoes are what I thought were the best. I was sad that the ending episode had nothing to do with the opening and ending credits like the previous seasons as well. Animation was in the same 2-D painting style we've come to know and love, so no change there. Opening and ending credits were great to see and hear, had some awesome music and the opening was so creepy as well. Only problem I had was... See full review

There's a stench in the air and it's not the typical irregular showering homeless population: it's the stench of the undead.  Or so the synopsis would have you believe. What you find when you watch this - should you choose to do so is a tale of a dimwitted young woman who: Leaves doors open for pursuers to constantly be on her tail / right behind her.  Tells her boyfriend off then calls him for comfort.  Walk the streets at night alone in a look at me outfit.  Follows a homeless man whose mind is wavering in favor of going with the police.  Ran away from home to live... Once again, Shinichiro Watanabe took the entire stage as a well-known. If you didn’t know who he was, then maybe you live under the rock or something. A lot of people know him through “Cowboy Bebop”. Even if you’re not an anime fan, he has a big influence on anime. He is like a Quentin Tarantino of Japanese where Watanabe brought western influences into Japanese culture and combined the two. Such works like “Samurai Champloo” combine western culture such as street arts and hip hop sets in the Sengoku era. But again, he proves that he is still in the same game. And now... See full review

As you might guess from the description, some guy buys a female maid robot and tries to use it more than what it is design for. What he wants to do is simply dress it in different outfits. My problem isn't this, or how much in this show has a double sexual meaning. My problem is, it just isn't that good. Like it isn't horrible, but nothing in it makes it stand out from any other show of the same timeframe. If you take out anyone mentioning the robot is a robot, then I highly doubt anyone would knew there is robots in this show. If you look at the fundementals on how someone is able to afford such things to... See full review

*Spoiler Free* Sorry if there are some spelling/grammar mistakes I'm going to make the main part of the review as short as possible, the movie is amazing and is worth all the praise it gets. If you think you'll enjoy it then you definetly will. (Read Further if you feel like it) Story:9 I do admit, there are without a doubt some plot holes and all that other mumbo jumbo, but the whole thing put together makes you forget about it all in the end. I'll admit, I misread the tags and focused on the summary, but apparently the 'worlds changing' was not, in fact, a fantasy spin on video games becoming reality and it just meant some chick flick style romance.  Not my cuppa.  Really seriously not my thing.  I still liked it decently enough and will probably finish it later, but halfway through it, I realized- yeah.  This is not going the way I was expecting.  Was expecting some sorta reverse-Overlord/SAO type of thing and forced-trans stuff from characters.  Not what I got.  But, it's still not a bad anime.

Dollar store Evangelion knock off anyone? If you are looking for a mecha with decent synchronization then you could even watch Pacific Rim. Cheap plot twists, heavy reliance on amnesia to fuel character development and shoddy world building goes hand in hand with a strongly defended new waifu, Zero Two. The foundation of dual piloting in this show contradicts huge portions of the world they live in. Only opposite gender pilots can synch with one another and the woman must be in the compromising, sexual position to be "entered." Despite humans not being able to reproduce or understand love or... I probably got into this series a lot later then most people. I started watching it in 2016. An ex-friend of mine was browsing Netflix for anime to fall asleep to and he put Conan on. I am not a person that can fall asleep with any lights or sounds so I watched a few episodes, unfortunately starting at 754. I didn't think I'd find it as interesting as I did so I actually went online (kissanime) and started at episode one (96, not the remake) and spent a year watching everything, even following online guides for when to watch the movies and OVA's. This anime can take a bit to get the ball rolling. I decided to just power through it in one sitting because it was short. First, let me add that this anime doesn't have the strongest start so it can take a few episodes to get yourself into it. For myself I wasn't sure after episode one if I wanted to continue but since it's on Netflix and they have autoplay for us lazy folk, I just let it continue. Procrastination won and I really enjoyed this. Next, as a few people that come across this might wonder, why is the animation rating lower than the others? For me this anime was more about the story and... See full review

Demon Lord, Retry is pretty mediocare, but is sufficietly entertaining. The animation is some of the worst I have ever seen, but the art is pretty good. The story leaves a lot to be desired, but hits all the necissary notes. It is a pretty shallow plot and doesn't really explain what is possible or how things work. There is a broad array of character personalities. Some of the personalities can be taxing. It isn't a show that I loved, but it was acceptable to fill time.

I say the story has a few strange things like people having plot armor and Battleship Gun Turrets making a 180 in mere seconds. Of course the hole plot is a weird thing. However the attention to detail is real' good. Also, no. The ship that the main characters are on is by no means a Corvette, it's a Kagerō class Destroyer.

NOT JUST ANOTHER SHONEN!! The story is amazing!!!! and not like all regular shonen (where the usual love interest is fangirling/obsesed with the main character) it is about sibling bond. Yes the main characters have a tragic backstory from where it all unvails BUT, it is not the cliche we get from this type of anime like"nakama strenght"-  And as someone that reads the manga I can tell you it all gets better and better as the story progresses so give it a chance!

It was a real treat for eyes and heart to watch this wonderful anime. Kept me engaged till the last episode. But now it's over and I'm like why it had to end. Where's season 2?. But unfortunately, there won't be any more seasons. A slice of life anime which shows real-life tragedy and struggles of children who are living through life without their parents or guardians.  The MC takes well upon the situation and rises up to the occasion. This season was alright, some of it good and some of it just meh. Episodes seemed to fly by, only a couple stood out to me. The stories were seemed shorter in this season and only a couple of episodes to me stood out. Within those couple of episodes I thought had a good plot that could last within the short time frame. The one thing I have been loving about these seasons of Yamishibai is that the opening and ending credits had something to do with the final episode. When I looked at the poster of this anime I was really hoping that it would be an awsome action anime. I watched the whole season and there were maybe 2 moments of action. The other moments they were just talking. Ofcourse at the momentsthat they started to fight were awsome but everything else was just a no go for me.  The anime is really boring but if you like serious anime without a lot of action you might like it.

The biggest of all of these, is not to judge those surrounded by pain and suffering for the issues which they never caused. There are many more lessons to be learned from Usagi Drop, which are not lost in the beautiful artistry of this series. The summary written for this anime pretty much says it all - not much else happens besides some side romance and... action? Here we have nothing extraordinary, only a story that tries to get serious but leans heavily on almost medicore comedy and predictability instead. No epic battles between rivaling kingdoms like I had imagined, just an idiot classmate leading an army of bugs around and retreating half the time, and being beaten by Makoto the other half. The quest Makoto sets out to fulfill, to find a way back home, was the main focus for the first half of this series. He hasn't much luck with that and... See full review

Quand vous apprenez  dans la saison 1 qu'Annie est le titan féminin alors vous cherchez ensuite les titans qui ont l'air plutôt humanisés, ce qui enlève un peu le suspense. Everything was really planned out well. I feel like the over the top frustration was very needed in order to get the final message across. This leaves you all the more satisfied with how things ended in the anime. There were many moments throughout the ending of the anime where I would have been fine with them ending the season, but the final few episodes really tied it all together and made it even more perfect. I will definitely be watching S2! If you're debating on watching this, please do! I promise that by the end it'll be worth it.

On a brighter note, the only part I enjoyed was the last episode, since a bunch of characters I actually liked were there, and Kaneki and Touka's kid as well! Though I am confused about the 64 years later part. Are years different for them than in real life? Was that ever discussed in the anime? All in all, I didn't like ANY part of this last season except for the last episode. Hell, even most of the characters sucked. Though Mutsuki... See full review

I never pictured myself getting into idol anime, but here we are. This is one of the best anime I have EVER watched. Increasing character development (except for the main guy, what was his name again?) and so much silliness! And plus, a canonly transgender younger girl! That's amazing!

My Hero Academia

I didn't think I'd get into this, but after my friend Marcus and my partner kept talking about it to me, I figured I'd give it a go. And now? I absolutely LOVE it! There's tons of character development, especially with 'minor' characters. Not really sure about Bakugo though. There's... literally no development. He's just angry all the time.

K-On!

I didn't think I'd grow so attached to the girls of K-On!, but I did! I started the show just because I was bored and looking for more anime to watch (despite my ever growing list of 'want to watch' anime). Yui and the Light Music Club are too adorable not to watch! At first, when Azusa came along, I didn't like her for the sole purpose that I thought the club was better with just the four main girls. Fortunately, after a while, I grew to like literally every single character!

Elfen Lied

Elfen Lied was... something else, honestly. It was spooky and dark, but I liked it. Poor Lucy didn't deserve to be treated the way she did, though. The way she would go from relentless killing machine to a clueless child cliche was amazingly written. If there was another season, I wouldn't hesitate to watch.
