The Devil is a Part-Timer!

A Serious Parable of Japan Immediately After WWII, Disguised as a Comedy On its surface, The Devil is a Part-Timer is a reverse isekai where magical characters escape into our ordinary world and try to live ordinary lives. This show works well as a comedy; however, it works even better as a parable of Japan during the late 1940’s and 1950’s. Unfortunately, in that light it demonstrates Japan’s lack of remorse over its actions in World War II. First I shall review it as a comedy. As a comedy, this show can be very funny. Making an isekai comedy highlighting the fish out of water trope is... See full review

This second season was heads and shoulders over the first season.  In fact, this was what I had been hoping for and wanting to see in the first season as it explains everything which was not explained (but should have been) in the first season. Plot As the activities of Libra continue, each individual who makes up Libra has a life outside of it as well as what brought them to Libra in the first place.  As Leonardo continues to look for a way to heal his sister, various monsters and Blood Breed are on the move and creating chaos in an already chaotic town. Characters Well, everyone should at... See full review

I was really impressed with this anime overall, at first I didn't think it was something that I would enjoy watching, but after a few of my friends recomended this Anime to me, I eventually gave it a try, and I loved it!   The storyline, the Characters, it was wonderful. I recommend this anime to everyone 18+ because of the few bad words and sexual inuendos, Other than that it's a great watch.

If your looking for an anime that has a regular guy getting bombarded my sexy women/monsters, a couple googly eyeing each other in every episode, and an unhealthy amount of upskirt panty shots!! Then this is the anime for you!! After all that said, it was a good anime to watch, made me laugh, even though there was no storyline really until you get near the end for the Summer break/Witch Hill and the Security Committee arcs. Animation and sound were great, no disappointment there. Character design and background were pretty good as well, some brief back story on some not many and great... See full review

FLCL: Alternative

I'll say the same thing as everybody else will be saying. It doesn't come close to the experience that was FLCL but it seems to be put together a bit better than FLCL: Progressive. It'll always be hard to follow up a cult classic since music, animations, topic and time just lined up perfectly for the original. I compare it to Run-DMC and Aerosmith, being shown on MTV with Walk this way. If you were there, it blew your mind and many have tried to recreate the formula but it'll just never be the same... it's a once in a lifetime experience. Rap, rock, breaking walls with Adidas shoes with no laces... Right... See full review

Land of the Lustrous

Watching this anime reminded me one of the several things that got worse in anime over the years. It shows the most in One Piece, because it lasted long enough to see the shift. When it began it had a simple setting you could understand. Each character had a unique role, a specific backdrop, and was coming from a different part of the world. Fast forward a decade, and now the setting is one big mysterybait that never explains what is going on, the characters became shallow stereotypes of rule of cool, and all of them do the exact same thing.

That’s what’s going on with Land of the... See full review

FLCL Alternative is an interesting show. Accidentally brought early for April Fool’s day, FLCL’s most lax cousin was forced to bear the burden Progressive was supposed to have, that being the weight of being the sequel to a legendary piece of animated passion. Sadly, it was stuck with it anyway after Progressive turned out the way it did and paid the piper for it in terms of reception. For such a Herculean task, this show was oddly calm, even nostalgic in some ways. It’s a miracle it worked at all given its approach. One obvious point in this show’s favor is that it actually tries... See full review

A somewhat typical filler. Kusano, the youngest one of the 4 servants, wants to compete with 2 of her rivals for the main protagonists love. The contest is a race to the shop to buy food... The story itself is pretty weak, so it tries to add a little bit of oomph with a bathscene at the end of the episode.

I admit, I was dubious at first, particularly for the first three episodes. But others here has recommended sticking around until around 7, so I did. Best decision ever. If you're on the fence about this anime, try and make it to there - it's worth every second.  Also, if you usually skip the intro and outro, you may want to change that habit for this one. You won't miss anything important for the show, but it defintiely adds to the tone. They really had an eye for detail that you wouldn't suspect from the start.

Season two, let's go!  I'm actually not too sure where to start on this, because as a whole it wasn't nearly as good as the first season (and even the first season had its downsides).  For those less interested in the political side and who wanted more action/adventure, this season does deliver that.  I was a lot more interested in this season due to politics taking the back seat (except in the otherworld, of course), but with the exception of a couple "boss" fights, it didn't follow up well or even match the first season. Story Same as the first season, though this time the... See full review

General review Okay, so for this one you'll need heaps and heaps of suspension of disbelief. Though you're bombarded with crazy pseudoscience, the setting of an apocalypse is explored along the background of a city's hardship, which tries to anchor the setting in a sense of realism. The story is right in between episodic and heavy on the plot, which is used expertly for world building and fleshing out the main cast of characters. I have to say, they did nail the pacing of the episodes. But. The story is not that impressive. All in all, it leads up to a mildly satisfying ending that doesn't... See full review

Black Butler was the first animes I had watched and was what got me into anime in the first place. The story is set in the late 1800's, where Ciel Phantomhive is a 12-year old Earl whose parents were killed in a fire 2 years prior. He is constantly followed by his demon butler, Sebastian Michaelis, who is helping him find out who killed his parents in exchange for his soul. Love the storyline, as well as the characters! Many characters have made me lugh and this is one of my favourite animes(biased since I haven't wached that many!). I DEFINTELY recommend this anime to people who love comedy and... See full review

Story- I gave the story a 9 because although it was good, I don't like demon anime that much. But if you do then you might like the story better than I did. Als I found out a few things that you didn't get from the synopsis about the characters, but that would be spoiling so I'm not going to say;p Animation- I gave the animation a 10 because I loved the art style! The colors were very vivid and beautiful and clear which is what a enjoy in an anime. Which is also why I don't like old looking anime. Sound- I gave the sound a 10 because I loved the opening and ending songs, both the 2nd ones and 1st ones. I... See full review

despite what other more famous people have said about this season, i have found the lighter tones(for this series anyway) to mesh wonderfully with the darker notes overall. this season has answered questions that many have been curious about, such as the fates of certain characters that was left inanswered previously, amoung other things.  the change in animation and art style, although noticable, left a stronger flavor that gave more life to the characters. the more serious nature of the season has given further character development.

I'm kind of lukewarm overall in reaction to Katanagatari. There are aspects of it that I actually really like, but I got bored midway through and was slogging through the rest just to see what the ending was like.

The story has zero substance and proves to be the shakiest possible foundation you could have to build two halfway decent characters on top of, with a dose of mediocre action mixed in. The main characters themselves are a trope: a tsundere girl and a dense guy find themselves on a journey together to find twelve legendary swords. Story: [8.5/10] Grancrest Senki is a fantasy-based, political/war story following a wanderer named Theo, as he is dragged along by his mage Siluca on an adventure to challenge the injustices that exist in their world. Lords and mages fight for power and survival and prioritise that over the wellbeing and prosperity of the people. The continent is at war and Theo, Siluca and their companions must contend with the status quo. I am always interested in this kind of setting but they generally don't seem very popular with others. There isn't much of a storyline, the whole show is mainly about the strange and funny interactions between the girls while also just trying to make the guy feel uncomfortable. There are a lot of jokes about vibrators and boobs but it doesn't want to focus on the panty shots like most other shows do. The cast is alright, they all have their little quirks but there isn't anything too ridiculous going on.  With how erotically charged the girls are in this show you would have expected the guy to never get a moments rest. It's not that kinda show. The guys really just get treated as like one of the girls... See full review

I was excited to watch this season because I kind of liked the first one and it may end up being one of my top ten anime. I started watching bits and pieces of this one and boy, was I disappointed. I watched up to episode 5 and then kind of just wanted to give up, especially after hearing about how dramatic this season gets. Okay, here comes my problems with this season. Not the sort of thing I typically watch, but it's actually a very good isekai (another world) anime.  There is a hefty amount of political intrigue, but even if that's not your cup of tea you should be alright (from someone who also dislikes political intrigue). Story/Plot One day, an odd structure appeared in Ginza, Tokyo (Japan) which acted as a gate to another world.  From it came a literal army of humans, orcs, goblins, and even dragon riders who attacked people indiscriminately until the Japanese police and military were able to subdue them. Decent  Bearing in mind that this anime is old, we can make some way for mistakes. But this anime becomes more dull the further you go on. Firstly, the TEDIOUS infinite eight episodes which act as fillers from my prospective. Secondly, the incomplete/rushed ending which got me thinking if that was all. Soundtracks are ok and story is good to start off with. Overall I would recommend it if you are looking forward to old animes.

As much as I’m supposed to respect this film for being the swan song of the late Satoshi Kon, I just can’t do it. Despite following the anti-escapism message motif of all his works, it’s also the only one where the characters have no personal investment with what is going on. Yes, there are people who explore their psyche through dreams, but that is hardly a conflict. It’s something a Saturday morning cartoon villain would think of to mess with people a bit. The detective and the woman looking for the bad guy are just doing their jobs.

I'm traumatically scarred--I don't know what I watched and i have a creepy-crawlly feeling after this. I watch stuff like corpse party (i like gorey stuff sometimes) but this is just no. I don't know what I watched and let me just say you probably shouldn't watch it. It's a cursed video.

I will start by saying i am a fan of these series.
This steins' gate 0 series are a worthy continuum, it has a great start and ending. It lost me around the middle but overall its 23 episodes you have to see if you liked the first series. It may seem in the middle that its turning into a drama or drifting from the main concept, you just have to have a little patiece, a great ending is coming.

Showing the 2D animation style of old style story telling is always a plus and is a bit of a relief from standard anime. Music from this season is still creepy and is a good compliment to the stories. Characters are still unsuspecting people and do not need any sort of research other then what is going on at that moment. Overall I think it lacked a... See full review

So Keijo!!!!!!!! was very interesting and fun to watch. I thought of it as so,ewhat of a Street Fighter anime just not as serious and the cast was much hotter hehe. Animation was nice and crisp battle scenes and standard scenes went smoothly and without issues and the special moves for everyone were nicely done as well. Story was a standard plot of the main characters, with a single pursuit of a single object. In this case to be the best at this sport. Nothing was taken away from this main objective and the characters as it was pretty straight forward and the actually objective to most of the characters... See full review
