Aoi Bungaku Series

May 25, 2023

No Longer Human Episodes 1-4 I really enjoyed it. The story was pretty well written, the characters were interesting, and the tone of the anime really gets the calm and depressing feeling of the story across. I ended up being really invested in the characters and story by the end of it. It's been a while since I've seen anything this captivating.  9/10 Cherry Blossoms (not writing all that) Episodes 5-6 The switch from the calm and dreadful atmosphere to silly and kind of over the top gave me whiplash (fun side effect of binge watching i suppose) I'm not entirely sure what I just... Cosprayers

Apr 9, 2021

There isn't many anime that make me question my love for anime, but this one did it. I mean, wtf did I just watch? I have absolutely no idea what was going on. And did that lightbeam just come out of her vagina? I mean what. I don't even know what to say to that... Story There was no coherent story, not that I could tell anyway. It was just a bunch of different scenes following one another, without any logic to it. In one scene, the protagonist almost gets run over by a car, the next she is hanging of a roof being held on one hand by her friend? enemy? who can tell. Way too chaotic to make out any... Lagrange: The Flower of Rin-ne

Mar 31, 2021

I'm not generally a fan of mecha anime, so I didn't expect much of this one. The story is about as mediocre as it gets, and there isn't much explaining done, which doesn't help. It just seemed kinda all over the place at times, both characters and story, and nothing really felt like it mattered. And yet, there was something about this show that I enjoyed.  Story The story is about as mediocre as it gets, there is nothing here storywise you wouldn't be able to find in any other mecha anime. A lot of the stuff that happens in the show isn't explained at all or only very briefly mentioned. The... See full review

Birthday Wonderland

Apr 17, 2020

If you want to watch a good adventure anime with an interesting world and an exciting story, I suggest you look elsewhere. Whilst this isn't exactly boring, and it is somewhat entertaining, there isn't anything about the story, world or characters that stands out at all (at least not in a good way). Story The story itself isn't too bad, but since it's basically just dumped on the viewer through dialogue at the beginning and end of the movie, it doesn't have much presence in the movie. The rest of the movie is the characters traveling from point a to point b, during which nothing really happens... See full review

No. 6

Dec 12, 2019

To anyone that is considering watching this for the story and not the relationship aspect: don´t bother. Although the concept seems interesting, it isn´t executed well. Neither are the characters or their relationship in my opinion. So, I would say unless you like BL anime where there are barely any scenes between the characters and half of these are one guy yelling at the other for stupid reasons, you should probably pass on this one. Story The idea of a dystopian futuristic world in which the people are being killed by a parasyte-bee in itself seemed kind of interesting, but the... See full review

Red Ash -Gearworld-

Nov 26, 2019

There´s not really much to say about this. It´s short, the premise is there for no apparent reason besides to have something more to show than the badly written characters. The whole thing is kinda boring and the ending didn´t really conclude anything. I really wouldn´t recommend watching this. Story There isn´t really much of a story, in the beginning the viewer is told a little about the world, and the rest of the anime is essentially just a chase scene. There were a couple of things that made it seem like there was more to the story, but it´s never really... See full review

Natsume's Book of Friends

Oct 27, 2019

*note that I´m writing this after watching all 6 seasons of the show* This is one of my favorite shows of all time. It has such a nice and relaxing atmosphere and it kinda feels like coming home watching it. I really like how the show handles the idea of yokai and how people interact with them (or don´t interact with them). The characters are great, especially the relationship between Natsume and Nyanko-sensei is really well done and it is one of my favorite parts of the show seeing those two interact with one another. The character development of Natsume, the way he slowly opens up to the... See full review

The Twelve Kingdoms

Oct 23, 2019

Juuni Kokuki is one of the best fantasy shows I have ever seen. The only reason why anyone wouldn´t want to watch this that I can think of is the protagonist. From the very beginning, Yohko is very unlikeable and anything she does seems to be the wrong thing to do in her situation. However, those wrong decisions end up leading her to really think about who she is, who she wants to be and the like and because of that, she ends up becoming a better person. That is one of the things this anime is really great at: character development. The show introduces seemingly flawed and bad people, only to give... See full review

Figure 17

Oct 23, 2019

The first half of the show is really pleasant to watch. The characters are interesting and I especially liked the action scenes, since they weren´t too overexaggerated. The story is somewhat interesting, nothing special, but nice.  Unfortunately, the second half wasn´t as good, since a lot of it dragged on for too long. Especially in the later episodes the screen just slowly zooms in on a still picture of a landscape or something of the kind for 10 to 20 seconds without anything happening. It just really took the fun out of the show for me and the show just generally feels really slow. In... See full review

Persona 5 the Animation

Oct 1, 2019

First of all, I have never played any of the Persona games, so I can´t say how good of an adaptation this is. Since I read some of the reviews before watching this, I had relatively low expectations, but I was positively surprised. Both characters and story were interesting and there were a few twists at the end that I didn´t expect. The only thing that somewhat bothered me was the weird execution of the fight scenes, but after a few episodes I kinda got used to it and I even started liking the style of them. And although there were a couple of smaller things that seemed kinda out of... See full review

Towanoquon Movie 6: Eternal Quon

Oct 1, 2019

This review is for all 6 movies of Towa no Quon, not just this one. First, I have to say that I didn´t like this one at all when I first started watching and I probably would have just dropped it if I didn´t have to watch this for a challenge. The story started slow and the characters where kind of annoying. But to my surprise I started to get really into the story and characters in the 4th Movie. The story finally picked up a bit and the action scenes where quite nice as well (not the best but still nice). And even though it was somewhat predictable, I quite enjoyed watching the last two...
