It's pretty simple, when you go onto edit profile and down to bio( as you probably know) there should be options at the top of the bio section (link font and things) if you go onto the one that inserts a picture (I think if you hover over the tools it will tell you what is what) ,click on it and just copy and paste the URL of the image and it should insert the GIF like a normal picture.
Or clicking on this link may help, saves you having to sign up and everything. (I have only just found out myself but rules fir submitting a character are still on the forum)
Glad you asked, some characters as you may have noticed have not been added to the Anime-planet database, you may have to summit these characters to the moderators on the forum (there would be a thread about adding characters), to make comments on this thread you have to make another account on the forum. If you don't want to make a forum account just tell me the characters you want to add and any details of that character( just in case I haven't seen the anime or read the manga this character is from). But this is only if you don't want to make a forum account, I would be happy to help if this is the case.
The people on anime-planet are really kind so they would probably help you as well as me if you need any extra information!!
