Better writers than me have raved about Fate/Zero before me, and more will do so after me. Same with worse writers. So I will be brief. Fate/Zero gives you several unique and multifaceted characters that engage the viewer's attention; it presents a concept that is familiar, but executes it with simplicity, rather than grasping at new ideas in an effort to be the most original but just becoming an unpleasant mess(i.e. Future diary/Hunger Games-type crap); it also has fantastic sound and visuals, and action that makes sense. My complaints are limited; some important characters are less interesting than others, story is a bit slow, and not seeing Fate/Stay Night first(as I did) make take a bit away from your enjoyment. Overall Fate/Zero is epic, well-done, and gripping, and it is hard to find a show that is all three. I will be starting Fate/Zero season 2 immediately upon completion of this review.
