The introduction of Roslia was probably the worst decision this manga could've made. It made blatantly obvious how bad the author is at portraying relationship developments and how mangafied the flirting and romance is. It's just shallow and fake. The other elements of the plot aren't all that substantive or well-told either though. Like, the training is more montage sequences of effort and willpower than anything. And it just brings up the question that if effort and willpower were enough, then why didn't Note achieve more growth and success before fe joined the Arrivers? If learning some of those adventuring arts is something anybody can do with practice, then why hadn't fe put in effort trying to learn them before? Are we supposed to assume that the Arrivers have unique knowledge on training methods not available to others? Or are we supposed to assume that Note was just complacent and unmotivated for all those years fe had spent as an adventurer previously? It's also pretty dumb how the mapping skill takes up three skill slots for seemingly no reason. Within the manga, we don't see any other skills which take up more than a single slot, so it feels very out of place. And on a practical level, why are dungeons being cleared by small adventuring parties instead of larger forces? Mapping wouldn't be seen as nearly as worthless if parties didn't feel they had to maximize the value of each member within their small groups. But why do parties feel limited to small groups in the first place? Another thing that sorta bothered me is the scene that kept getting alluded to when Miya had left Note with tears in feir eyes. All the way to the end of the manga, we never learn what exactly went down during that scene. It was never fleshed out. The monsters look nice. The fight scenes are pretty good. There's very rounded and loose-feeling art for the hyoomins. A lot times, this makes the faces look cute. But it can also feel sloppy, or like the eyes aren't in the right places. This manga feels like it could've had an interesting premise and the characters are adequate, but it just never coalesced into a cohesive whole.

1/10 story
7/10 art
4/10 characters
3/10 overall
