Go For It, Nakamura!

Feb 27, 2021

It's primarily a comedy. And even though romantic yearnings play a central role in the setting, it can honestly barely be considered a romance and it's more just about showing the social awkwardness of the character. Not all of the stories were amazing (like, chapters 8-10 were meh-sauce), but I appreciated a lot of the antics and gags in the earlier chapters and I especially liked the role that Kawamura played in the story. I enjoyed the inclusion of octopuses and I found the emotional resolution in the final chapter to be very satisfying, though I'm not sure if the tag "Love Confession" is accurate.

There's side-swish hair and beady eyes that remind me of older series like Yu Yu Hakusho or InuYasha. The prancing and some of the affectations also remind me of that style. It's aesthetically pleasing and well-drawn. And works well in showing off the cuteness of characters like Hirose as well as the comedic exaggerations.

8/10 story
9/10 art
9/10 characters
8/10 overall
