Liquor & Cigarette

Teo's main hangup seems to be a discomfort with the femininity of being a bottom, with fulfilling a woman's role, though it's not as though fe wants to be a top. The manga is portraying fem as slowly coming to terms with feir nature as a "total bottom." I've never much cared for BL manga that make it seem like sexuality needs to be clearly partitioned between tops and bottoms, that there are no "middle ground" ways of expressing one's sexuality. And while it's nice that Camilo is gentle and generally considerate, that's almost entirely undermined by the fact that the majority of the kissing and heavy petting and stuff occur while Teo is black-out drunk. What Camilo is doing is rape and molestation. When your partner is so inebriated that fe doesn't remember what happened the next morning, fe is incapable of giving consent. Also, it's slightly unethical to ask for sexual favors as a reward. Chapter five especially pissed me off on this point, because it shows Teo deciding that the only way to continue having sexual contact (which fe clearly wants by this point) is to continue having the drinking training and allowing Camilo to molest fem as a reward for putting fem to bed when fe gets too drunk to move on feir own.

The art's good, though there was a scene in chapter three where Teo's chest was drawn so it looked like fe has breasts. I didn't notice this later, so it was just a one-off problem, but I figured I'd mention it.

4/10 story
10/10 art
