One Piece

Nov 25, 2021

In celebration of the recent release of episode 1000, there's no better time than to discuss the ridiculously popular, highly debated anime that is One Piece. Story If you've been watching anime for a while, you likely already know the story of One Piece, but I'll tell it anyway because it's a good story to tell. The infamous pirate known as Gold Roger was executed after turning himself into the World Government. But before his final breath, he encouraged the world to seek out the treasure he left at the island of Laugh Tale, which is located on the most dangerous ocean in the world, the... See full review

The Pet Girl of Sakurasou

Apr 15, 2021

While I have a very special place in my heart for The Pet Girl of Sakurasou, I'll do my best to keep this review as unbiased as possible. Now having seen it twice, I hope I can deliver an insightful dive into this one-of-a-kind anime. Story Starting off is the story. While there are several episodes revolving around many typical sol activities like cultural festivals and out-of-town vacations with the whole cast, the story in Sakurasou is surprisingly strong. Don't let the description for the show fool you, as this is not a just a story about our hero Sorata learning to live with and care... See full review

Dr. Stone: Stone Wars

Apr 6, 2021

Seeing as how I wrote a review back in late 2019 regarding season one of Dr. Stone, although it's been a little while since the final episode aired, I think it's only fitting that I continue this trend by reviewing season two: Stone Wars. Story Starting off, we have the story, which is possibly the weakest part of this season. Back in my original review of the show, I criticized the lack of connection between the Kingdom of Science and the Kingdom of Might. Stone Wars, however, establishes a very distinct tie between the two nations, as we see Taiju and Yuzuriha make their return and as Senku plans... See full review

Kaguya-sama: Love Is War?

Jun 29, 2020

I was trying to think of something to preface this review with, but all I can come up with is this: Prepare yourself for a lot of gushing about this show. Story Having rewatched the first season not long before this season began airing, Kaguya-sama picks up right where it left off. In fact, I'd go as far as saying that season 2 episode 1 feels eerily similar to the first season. However, we quickly find out that that's not the case. While season 1 has the definitive subtitle "Love Is War", season 2 begins flipping what we know about our star-crossed lovers on its head; hence... See full review

Sing "Yesterday" for Me

Jun 22, 2020

It's been a while since I've made a review, but since I just finished this show recently, I figured I'd give my take on it. Story The story is as follows: our lead, Rikuo, has been working at a convenience store since he graduated from college (which I believe was a few years prior) and hasn't done a whole lot to pursue his dream of becoming a photographer. While working one day, he meets a teenage girl named Haru who has had a crush on him for several years without his knowledge. Not long after this takes place, he runs into one of his friends from college, Shinako, who he has had a crush on since... See full review

XL Boss

Dec 31, 2019

I'm going to preface this review by saying while I don't think an anime like XL Joushi really needs a review, there aren't any reviews out there for this show yet and I'm sure there are people who don't understand that side of anime. Story Starting with the story, it's completely ridiculous. Our female lead works for a condom company and she's tasked with basically doing testing on their extra large-sized condoms...by having sex with one of her coworkers who happens to have the "requirements" that she's seeking. In no way could this ever happen in the real world, and several other... See full review

Space Patrol Luluco

Dec 19, 2019

This is another anime that was recommended by my Secret Santa, cosmia, so thank you to them for sending this my way. I find it a bit difficult to talk about this anime. Not because it’s super complex or deep, but for the opposite reasons. Space Patrol Luluco is in a weird place; it’s not really a “guilty pleasure” anime, but it’s not something as profound as something like Steins;Gate or Erased, either. It’s kinda like a diet soda, if that makes any sense. Story The plot is an odd one, much like other aspects of this show. Luluco, a middle school girl, lives in... See full review

Dr. Stone

Dec 14, 2019

I'd like to start by saying that I wasn't sure if I was going to make a review on this show, but after taking a look at a few more VERY negative reviews, I decided to give my own opinion. This is easily one of the best anime I've seen this year and I hope more people are able to come across it before it gets left behind. With that out of the way, let's get right into the meat of Dr. Stone. Story I'm going to begin by talking about the story. We find our main characters, Senku and Taiju, living in modern-day Japan with Taiju about to confess his feelings to his longtime friend and crush, Yuzuriha... See full review

Wasteful Days of High School Girls

Nov 30, 2019

I'd like to start off my review by thanking my Secret Santa, cosmia, for sending this to me as a suggestion for this holiday season. I've had this show on my want to watch list ever since I heard about it. I can't even say how long it would've been before I watched this, so again, thank you. Story I'll start by going over the story. After going to different middle schools, three childhood friends - Tanaka, Kikuchi, and Saginomiya - reuinte as first years at an all-girls high school. All three of them are excited to spend the next few years together, but Tanaka decides to spice up the start of the... See full review

Umineko: When They Cry

Oct 27, 2019

So, I watched this anime over 6 months ago now. I don't remember the details all too well, but the premise I can definitely recall: The head of the wealthy Ushiromiya family is on his deathbed, so his four children, along with their spouses and children, meet up on the island that he lives on to determine how the money will be split amongst them. Before this can be done, a curse falls upon the family as well as the servants that aid them and they begin dying. The only way to prevent this is to solve the mystery of the deaths. Now, this alone should intrigue most people I'd assume, especially if you've... See full review
