Can't people just pick one and be happy? It's not like there aren't people who have valid reasons to dislike a character, but sometimes it's just... so obvious that people are stretching far beyond what's reasonable.

That just makes me so mad- why hate Historia for supporting Eren's plan (or at least not stopping it) if you yourself as a fan were supporting his genocide? It makes no sense.

Ugh, I've seen that and it's so gross. The worst part is, anime women aren't the only ones who get dragged for being 'too flat' (and since when has 'flat' been something to be ashamed of??) I've seen hate for actresses like Brie Larson and Daisy Ridley because their boobs or their butt are 'too flat.' Like... I'm sorry but since when has it ever mattered how appealing you find a woman's body?

This is another reason why I love Attack on Titan's women- no bouncing aime boobs. The women are actual characters with their own personalities instead of walking, talking fanservice/submissive waifus.

Right?? I'm genuinely confused by how people call her useless unironically. Did we even read the same manga? (I haven't seen the Naruto anime so I have no idea how it handles her character) The more I read of Naruto though, the more I love Sakura. And it really bothers me how people act like she's some shitty person who deserves a comeuppance when there are characters like Itachi who literally wiped out an entire clan, but are reduced to "did nothing wrong; precious bean" by the fandom.

Further responding to your comment on Hisu regarding the treatment of both Historia and Mikasa compared to that of the farmer and Jean- a lot of anime fandoms seem to be full of mysoginists- not that hating on a female character make you a mysoginist necessairly- but it's just a consistent thing I've found. Female characters get hated on for being their own person- eg. not supporting the male character enough. For being too dependent. For being this or that. It's like male characters can be diverse but women have to follow set tropes or something. They can't win. Ever.

But I mean- look at how the Naruto fandom treats Sakura and Hinata. From what I've seen, Sakura is hated for the same traits Hinata displays, yet Hinata is the fandom's waifuwhile Sakura can do absolutely nothing right. I'm honestly glad she had her happy ending with Sasuke just to spite the haters (even if I'm a Narusaku shipper as well). I don't want to generalize, but people seem to like Hinata because she's the ideal fantasy waifu- submissive, sweet etc- whereas Sakura is more aggressive.

Oh my gosh, yes! Let's unite where we hate Karl Fritz together- he's the real monster.

It's alright- there's no need to apologize. The bullying is, unfortunately, quite vicious right now, but there are plenty of chill people and you've just got to find them. Youtube comments and reddit are both terrible, terrible places right now XD

I try to stay away from reddit personally- I feel like that one odball who ships Erehisu, but who doesn't want to see Armin or Mikasa get bashed all the time and still loves the trio they made up with Eren- and I'm not sure there's really any safe place on reddit for me to express that sentiment, which is unfortunate because it shouldn't be that controversial. *sighs* It's like everyone is either an EH who wants to drag on 'slavekasa' and 'mong' (I don't even know where that last one came from?) or EMs who want to attack Historia. I'm so sick of it- I think that even if you dislike a character you should still respect them and their role in the story. I wish more people understood that people can watch/read the same anime/manga and form seperate opinions regarding the characters and relationships. There might be less infighting that way.

Yes, please!

I saw your comments on Mikasa- while she's my least favorite character in the series, I definitely agree with you. The hate is overblown at times and disgusting. She and Historia are two of the most unjustly ragged on characters- and I say that as someone who doesn't even like Mikasa currently.

Maybe once everything dies down, I'll see her the way I once did, but I'm too disappointed in her character right now. Part of that isn't her fault- I've been attacked online by mikasa/eremika stans for shipping erehisu in the past and that's soured her character a lot for me, which... yeah, is not her fault. I'd say just wait for people to calm down over the ending and the fanbase will probably be a more pleasant place.

I'd ignore Yeagerbomb- they hate on Armin too, my personal favorite. That sub is fun to mess around with sometimes if you just wanna roast some fictional characters, but I think there are far more reasonable people willing to discuss the pros and cons of characters, which is what I appreciate.
