I'm sure you will pass, like I said before, I can tell you are very good at English and better than a lot of English people that I know lol. So I am certain that you are just as good in your other academic endeavours when critically analysing texts or studying linguistics. Even if you don't get the marks that you want it's ok, just look at how you could have improved and use that in your next lot of exams. Being a writer would be amazing, it would be so nice to get paid to write stories. I think the beauty of writing is that you can do it in your free time alongside a normal job. I think it was the author John Grisham who used to be a lawyer and he would write for an hour each morning and that is how he finished his first book. Of course, you need discipline to do that, the most I have written is about 10 or 15 pages and then I gave up.

That's one thing I wanted to ask you, I didn't know whether to write a proper review on animeplanet or if you were satisfied with reading my experience of the anime that I wrote to you. I think that I would like to make an AMV for The Promised Neverland when I get my pc. I know you are busy revising at the moment so I don't want to distract you too much but if you would like then you can recommend a few more anime under 26 episodes and I'll get around to watching one when I have finished kyousou Giga.

I've just finished watching The Promised Neverland and it was definitely one of those anime where I was hooked from beginning to end. The creators really utilised the elements of suspense, fear and intrigue really well; working in unison towards the fated night of escape. Another element that I thought was something you don't usually see was the children's ability to act, for a large part of the series they consciously put on a pretense of happy oblivion, only dropping the act when they discovered that Mother absolutely knew they had learned the meaning and purpose of their macabre existence.

Norman was my favourite character, I really admired his self-sacrifice and foresight to help Emma and the rest of the children once he could no longer be there. Although, I think he might still be alive, we never actually see him get killed and I was unsure if he was actually there or a figment or Rays and Emma's imaginations on the night of the escape when he appears next to them. Emma was very sweet and pure-hearted but her unrealistic desire to escape with all of the children annoyed me a bit. Then again, she realised that was unfeasible in the end and so had to compromise on only bringing children 5 or older. Ray was very interesting, the revelation that he was able to remember things from inside the womb and the scene where we learn that the woman known as Mother was his actual Mother were both jaw dropping to me. It really makes you think about the psyche of the person that could discover that one of the orphans was theirs but then still rear it, knowing of the eventual outcome. Of course, a situation like that is open to all sorts of psychological interpretation but I do think that she loved her son. She continued to acquire items for him that he asked for such as the camera, probably aware that he had some other ulterior motive, after all, she proves herself very adept at tactical planning and mental manipulation throughout the series so I am sure she was aware of his plot to acquire useful items and repurpose them.

I thought quite a bit about the orphans situation and I had already thought about suicide being a good option like Ray was planning to do, if you are unable to escape then it is better to deprive the demons of their meal by either dying where you cannot be found or in a fire like Ray was planning. In a way, it gives you a sick sense of victory by displaying one last act of free will that the demons have no control over. I've just seen that there will be a season 2 so it will be very interesting to see how the orphans traverse the demon-infested world that they now find themselves in and how they will manage to survive.  Thank you for that great recommendation, It was a really good story.

When I was reading your messages to me I thought that your English was very good considering that you are from Belgium and now I know why hehe. Do you study mainly Dutch literature/linguistics or a mixture of English texts as well? Before I went to university I either wanted to study English, History or do a Classics (ancient history) degree. In the end, I decided to study Modern History (late 1700's to the present) because I really wanted to understand how past events have shaped the modern world in which we live. Learning about imperialism, free trade, empires etc was really interesting to me. I didn't go to university until I was 23 and I graduated in 2017 but to be honest my degree hasn't really done anything for me. I've applied for loads of jobs and the only thing I could get was a temporary job in a call centre, which I had already worked in twice before I had a degree lol.

After graduation I did a 120 hour TEFL course online and I was planning to teach English abroad but due to health problems I put that dream on hold. Have you thought much about your goals after university? Is there something that you have in mind that you would like to do? I hope that your exams go well for you, they are probably the most stressful thing about university, writing essays is a lot better because you can take your time to read the academic literature and form your arguments and conclusions. I'm not sure how it works in Belgium but in the UK the first year of university is like a practice year so none of your grades go towards your degree classification, which takes away some of the stress.

I can empathise with you not having much free time at the moment, it sounds like History is the same as an English degree in that they are both reading heavy based degrees compared to something like science where you spend more time in the classroom. University can be tough but just keep your end goal in your mind and think how much of a relief it will be when you have your degree or look ahead to the summer holidays when you can have a nice big bit of relaxation and do what you want until the next year of study begins. At one point Kuroshitsuji used to be my favourite anime, it probably still is in my top 10 or top 20, Sebastian is so suave and sophisticated and I think his Japanese voice actor did him perfectly. It would be nice to have some more views, I've seen Amv's that are worse than mine that have hundreds of thousands of views so I find that a bit confusing lol. But even just having a few likes and a few comments makes me happy so it's ok in the end. I'm not sure if you have watched my Kimetsu no Yaiba video but the band called Solence, whose song I used for that video, commented from their official YouTube channel so that made me very happy to see that someone from the band had actually watched the amv. Something like that happening is quite rare I think.

I think you would like Owari no Seraph, I'd class it in the same kind of league as Akame Ga Kill or Mirai Nikki as an anime that doesn't shy away from showing pain, blood and suffering but at other times being quite light-hearted. If you were fine with watching those then you'd be fine with Owari no Seraph.

I just had to google 'anime GTO' lol and now I know that it  stands for Great Teacher Onizuka hehe. I might have seen the anime in the recommendations on animeplanet but I've never looked into it or watched it but I can see on google that it is very popular and has really high ratings so it must be really good< maybe I'll take the lounge one day as well and watch it. I'd like to get into manga but I always feel so overwhelmed by how much there is. Plus I never know if it would be good to read a manga for an anime I have seen or not. The only manga I finished was Assassinstion Classroom which I loved and I did read all of Kuroshitsuji at one point but it was still ongoing so I stopped reading it and never went back. I saw on your animeplanet profile during the secret Santa event that your 18, have you started university yet or not? I was very stressed when I was at university but after doing my last exam it felt like a huge weight had been lifted from me.

Im happy that you have watched some more of my videos, I don't get many views but I always put effort into making them to the best of my ability, even though I'm not half as good as the pros lol. It would be great if the computer came sooner than expected, I'll just have to play the waiting game.

I've just watched the first two episodes of The Promised Neverland and I really like it. Those demons at the end of episode one were very scary and the woman they call 'Mother' really creeps me out. The anime reminded me a bit of Owari no Seraph with the orphans who live in that place with the vampires and are farmed for their blood. I'm looking forward to watching the est of the series, I don't think it will take me too long to finish it, the story is very compelling.
