People on the spectrum aren't emotionless; rather, we tend to feel very strongly which often leads to shutdowns and-or meltdowns; we're not emotionless dolls or robots. We tend to naturally experience what's known as "Affective Empathy", while neurotypicals tend to naturally experience what's known as "Cognitive Empathy". While this does mean we aren't very good at picking up on someone's exact mental state unless they clearly say so (cognitive empathy), we still understand and strongly feel emotions and can relate in that way (affective empathy).
Your description of labeling her as autistic, especially right before describing her as a "mass murderer", is extremely harmful and perpetuates a negative stigma and misunderstanding towards us (particularly as the media still loves to blame, what is often nonexistant, autism or some other supposedly undiagnosed mental disorder for tragedies such as mass shootings).
This could have been a great show, and it started off with a good premise, but it soon devolved into "melodrama of the week".
