Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation

Jul 17, 2022

This anime was good, first and foremost. I thought the writing and dialogue was brilliant at times. There was a lot of depth to the characters that we traveled along with and saw over the course of this 23 episode affair. I just feel like as a whole, Jobless Reincarnation doesn't take itself seriously enough The ecchi humor isn't my thing and never really has been. I think this sort of humor is strange for the most part and this anime takes it to another level at times. The sexual assault at times and the sexual undertones to child characters is strange. Yes I know that the Mc reincarnated into a child... See full review

Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song

Nov 7, 2021

When I marked this anime as watched, I noticed a lot of the negative reviews, or maybe poor is the better word. I tend to not review animes but the criticisms for this one felt a bit unfair so I thought I'd add my take on it in case anyone was curious and wanted a more in depth of review.  Vivy is one of those futuristic stories that centers on AI and the inevitable clashes between it and humans. Even more typical, is it's AI protagonist that struggles with a burned purpose that causes it to seek and understand what it is to be human. I don't mind that it's foundations are similar to things I've... See full review

Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story

Apr 8, 2020

Coming into this, I had watched the previous Madoka Magica and expected this to be somewhat of a continuation of this. I was proved wrong.  The show is heavily based off the mobile game and while I knew that, yes, I assumed the side story in question played off elements already in place from the previous iterations. That was largely, not the case. The series itself set it up in a way where it seems to play in complete alternate universe and world builds in a way that contrasts from the last series that leads me to believe this way.  The story itself, is fine. It has multiple plot points that... See full review

Punch Line

Dec 30, 2019

I am not often moved by many anime. Which, sounds very pretentious, but to be honest, anime with emotionally hard hitting plots are few and far in between. This anime is one of those stories.  In the beginning, despite the description, the anime is very slow moving. It begins with a great action scene and then seems to tumble into what seems to be a nonsensical slice of life plot. You find yourself wondering "What am I watching?" Admist the strange ecchi, and the somewhat confusing begging, you're not sure if you want to continue, and that's perfectly valid. Punch Line is slow to start and... See full review
