Isekai Izakaya: Japanese Food From Another World

Jun 15, 2022

I thought this was a followup to Restaurant to Another World, which as a foodie and anime lover, I liked, and seemed to be an actual third season. But I literally stopped listening and took my headphones off when the the strange unusual live cooking segment started wondering if I was watching the right thing. I watched the rest of the ep just to be sure I wasn't missing something and didn't at all like the food he prepared. Who was that odd chef? I dropped this anime.

Shame on you.

Hanebado!

Watching this anime is like watching actual hard hitting sweating badminton games. Great job on the animation and sound. The credits and music are good. The story, although was a little too familiar and could have used work: A former prodigy in a sports club loses hope after losing a game, losing his friends, losing his family, getting slammed, losing confidence, etc. The story could have used a little work. I did like the fact the the badminton featured variety of woman players in a variety of styles, including a lefty. Nice work overall and worth watching.

Run with the Wind

Feb 24, 2022

This top quality anime is a great introduction to the legendary, intense Japanese long distance relay Hakone Ekiden. This anime covers the trials and sheer physical requirements each participating university needs to qualify and prepare for this 2 day race after new years. It duplicates the feeling and prep involved for each team to compete in the actual races. It's like I am sitting on the edge of my seat watching the 20 plus university teams try to pass their individual team sashes. The anime's focus on teamwork, attention to detail, great music, bumpers, story line, character development. and artwork are... See full review

Tsurune

This super, well rounded anime is now in the in my top 10 list of sports anime. I loved how it taught you more about this traditional Japanese archery clubs, the bows, the traditional clothing, the priests, the elders and competitions without being dull or repetitive. As a pus, the sport allows men and women and it shows both equally. The anime successfully shows that the all the archers have entirely different motivations, talents, challenges, potential, and stories. The scenes of the priests dedicated to archery who open the ceremonies, the elder dans and the archery festivals and monasteries... See full review
