Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers

Jan 21, 2016

No Spoilers (just heavy sass) Overall: Decent concept, mediocre foreshadow, and poor plot division and ending. So I enjoyed the trailer and figured I'd give this a go. It turned into an "uh... no, but I'll stay to see if the ending is what I expect.." This show is pretty much the board game CLUE but with an adventure anime twist. Just like in the game CLUE the characters are joined together for a completely different reason than what we, as audience participate in (CLUE's premise so you get my comparison: goes to dinner party, but audience only participates in murder... Sunday Without God

Jan 19, 2016

No Spoilers (only mild sass) Overall: Good (Possibly Great) idea, poor execution. This show had some fantastic potential and the main character's, shall we say uniqueness brought a lot to the table, but goodness nothing really happened. This type of show does mini stories, which you can see by the titles of the episodes. Although they're in a chronological order, they don't necessarily have information between the storylines. Not necessarily a problem mind you, just a point to consider as the writers have given themselves the potential to jump around to any point in our lead's journey. ...Hint they... See full review

Charlotte

Jan 19, 2016

No Spoilers (only mild sass) Overall: Pacing is everything with a lot of interesting twists. I definitely cried. Wow. Just wow. I rated this show 5 stars for me personally, but in the concrete review format it isn't perfect. But definitely worth the view. The first 6ish episodes are pretty ordinary. We follow characters, discover who we like and don't like and so forth. I was even starting to get bored of the repetition I figured was ensuing. But then WHAM we take a turn, and then it's turn after turn of "WHAT?!" If someone states that this is a predictable show they're a liar. It's... See full review

No Game No Life

Jan 18, 2016

No Spoilers Overall: Witty, colorful, and enjoyable. As a binge anime-watcher I can say I watched all 12 episodes with a forced pause for food. This is a very good show and I am extremely pleased with it! I know in its entirety that it's popular, but I haven't really spoken to anyone about the show. Thanks to this there was no build up or expectations besides pretty artwork and a decent storyline (thanks to Crunchyroll commercials). The storyline has the some standard points of popularity that we've been seeing more frequently in anime. We have gamers and alternate gaming worlds. We also have genius... See full review

Beyond the Boundary

Jan 12, 2016

No Spoilers Overall: Trite, but not poorly executed. This anime has received a decent amount of hype and following. I can understand why, but it sets expectations higher than they should be in all honesty. In Beyond the Boundary we have characters who fit our modern day stereotyping within popular anime. This type of character-tag provides instant comic relief and likable characters because of the familiarity. Due to characters alone, I understand why it is so likable. Though they each are one-track minded in their pursuits and comic relief, they each provide an expectation in reactions throughout... See full review
