Story: 5

The story revolves around Junpei Kōsaka, the male protagonist who is horribly allergic to cats, in a town that is basically obsessed with felines. He knocks down a cat deity statue, and as a result, becomes cursed to turn into a cat himself. The only way to stop the curse is to help 100 different cats with their problems. Throw in a bunch of hot anime chicks, and maybe a little magic to spice things up.

Oh ya, did I mention he can talk to cats?

Anyways, that pretty much sums up this whole anime. The story is by far its weakest point of this anime, but then again, it’s not really that important to make this anime fresh and entertaining.

Animation: 7

I was not really impressed with the animation quality. I felt that the backgrounds were pretty "eh", and the characters definitely could have been more detailed.

The saving grace of the animation is its ability to convey comedic situations. In one memorable scene in episode 11 where the male lead is really surprised about (Blocking Spoiler Here), he makes a series of awesome faces of surprise and horror that can still make me smile just by thinking about it.

Sound: 7

I enjoyed the intro and closing songs. While not exactly ground breaking, they fit the style of the show well. Besides the male lead, the voices were nothing special. Junpei voice acting was above average.

Like the animation, the sound effects were essential for many of the more hilarious moments.

Characters: 8

The girls are average; nothing special. However, the cats are fresh and entertaining, and they add some much needed spice to the show. However, don't expect much character development in this series; there basically is none.

So why 8? As hinted at before, this anime's success rest almost squarely on Junpei's shoulders. He is one of the few male leads that I have liked in this genre. This mainly stems from the show's ability to put him in situations that are actually funny, complete with great sound and facial expressions, rather than the usual generic corny lines that plague this genre. However, don't expect much character development from him either.

Overall: 7

This is another mindless anime that my curiosity made me watch. Needless to say, I'm glad it did. While not exactly taxing on the brain, it is an entertaining little series that might be best watched on a lazy Sunday or in between two more intense series.
