They made a mistake trying to pursue this show further while demoting the main character to a side character. By doing this they effectively threw away all the character and story building created in the initial show. I truly believe that if Hidan no Aria didn't exist then Hidan no Aria AA could be respectable. The story was reasonable and entertaining and the characters were good, but because they tried to do a spin-off, and removed the main character, all was for nothing. I believe one of the only successful ways to accomplish a spin-off is to change everything. By keeping characters and demoting their statuses they basically wrote off anyone who watched the first show as an audience. I am saddened deeply because there is definitely potential for a spin-off, even though I wouldn't recommend, they just executed it in the worse possible way.
