Not really sure where to start with this series as it has its good and bad points. I guess I will go with the nuts and bolts. Animation wise its nothing special. The music was good and the sound levels were stable. The overall story was nothing special either. Your run of the mill save the maiden and the school thing. Now, a big difference in this story is in its harem angle. While most harem shows, everyone falls for the MC for no reason, at least Ray has some legit charm, and knows how to talk to the ladies, while showing them some mad respect. Felt that was a... So this is a slightly different twist on an isekai. The big difference is that she can go back and forth between the 2 worlds. The overall story is your general isekai, save the new worlds kingdom you have setup in. Of course her plans are really just a get rich scheme. Not the greatest storyline, but interesting enough to keep you hooked. The big draw here is the comedy. Character wise, nothing really special here. The MC can go back and forth between world but she isn't OP. However she does have access to tech and training which gives her an advantage. The... See full review
Nuts and bolts wise this is ok. Decent animation, music, and stable audio levels. Character wise I really did like all the primary characters. Story wise I was really enjoying it up until the last 2 episodes. It was a generic kingdom saving story, but was good. The choices made by the 2 MCs in the last 2 episodes really just pissed me off. So they sacrifice to maintain a BS status quo instead of just forcing the kingdom to change for the better. Such crap. Yeah they made good, but didn't have to doom Euphie to eternal suffering. This is one of the few times I have gone... See full review
I really think the animation did justice to the characters are they are in the written media. And the sound levels are stable. The music for the series was good too. Unfortunately thats where the praise ends. The show started out pretty good but then started going downhill for the back half of the season, despite more action. The premise is really good, but the execution was not great. And while I enjoyed the characters early on they actually got a bit annoying as the show progressed. Pretty sure there will be a 2nd season, and I hope that its an improvement from this one.
See full reviewSo I sorta liked the 1st season. The story wasn't that good, nor were the characters but it was hilarious. This season was a great letdown. The story got worse. The new characters added were even more of a bummer. And even the animation went down a bit. But the worse part is it was far less funny than the 1st season. I watched because I hate leaving a story unfulfilled, but this was just blah.
See full reviewSo starting with the nuts and bolts. The animation is only ok. The music is good, but the audio levels flux a bit. Most of the characters are pretty generic and straightforward. You main fight has suffered a loss and had lost all hope for the future but the maiden brings him out of it. You have a scrappy sidekick that wants to be a warrior but is pretty useless. A guide who seems pointless but is pulling more strings than expected. And an overly logical medic who is really not all that interesting other than to be some fan service. Kumi the maiden is the only... See full review
This season was not as good as the first. Its still an ok show, but really hope the 3rd season doesn't continue the downward trend.
See full reviewWhile I think the general premise of the show is pretty stupid, it still has merits as a show. It still has mystery and intrigue to keep you interested. And some of the minor storys within a few episodes were pretty good. The characters are all pretty blah. The MC while obviously super intelligent is pretty dull. And none of the secondary or tertiary characters stand out as all that impressive either. The nuts and bolts of this thing are nice. The animation is good and the sound levels are stable. Overall its a decent show to watch, and could be worth your time.
See full reviewNuts and bolts wise, the animation itself is alright, the music is only so so, but at least the audio levels are stable. As for the story, it really doesn't fit the title all that well. Yeah all the MCs got screwed over, and gave up on society, but saving the world is a stretch at least to this point. Maybe saved their town, but yeah I wouldn't even go that far. Its is somewhat entertaining, but the storyline just really isn't there overall. Now they do a pretty good job diving into the characters, their backgrounds, and even do ok developing them further. However, none of the MCs... See full review
I enjoyed this show quite a bit more than I thought I would. The story was alright, it thrived on mystery and plot twists, and played through 3 mini stories in the show. Problem is once you finish the first 4 episodes, it pretty easy to know who is behind the plots of stories 2 and 3 are. The characters are not at all deep. The heroin they call a villain is just crude, yet still likeable. And its easy to like who you should and also hate who you should. But yeah no real character building here. Lastly, the animation itself was pretty good and its audio levels... See full review
Whilei felt season 2 was not as good as season 1 it still has merit. The storyline barely moved at all in the season, other than opening a second shop. There was less action. However it was still worth watching, and seems like an acceptable bridge to what I assume will be a more eventful 3rd season
See full reviewSo for everyone that likes the Dr. Stone series this is a nice little side story to help bridge the gap between seasons 2 and 3. It will have little value to anyone that has not yet seen the first 2 seasons of Dr. Stone.
See full reviewSo this show borders on the absurd, which is really what made it good. The animation style was lacking, but the music and audio levels were good. And the characters were alright but nothing to write home about. This show lives and dies by the WTF moments. And they are amazing moments of comedy, which work along with some pretty good battle scenes. It seems iffy at first, but I was glad I powered through because it turned out to be a good anime.
See full reviewSo this anime is really enjoyable. However, a few things drug down my overall score as it probably could have easily been a 9. First off is the animation. Its alright, but seems kinda flat at points. The audio levels and music as good. However, once Sui started talking, that voice, very annoying very quickly. Storyline wise, it was in a big hurry to get somewhere the first 3 or 4 episodes, but that somewhere was nowhere, as the episodes beyond that were all pretty much the same, and the overall story doesn't seem to really go anywhere. Despite that the episodes give... See full review
So this anime is not the best of this season, however it is still good. The animation itself is alright and the sound is good. The storyline is pretty decent and the characters likeable. Nothing here is remarkable. But if you just want something fun to watch in your spare time you could do much worse.
See full reviewI would say that this now ranks among my favorite anime. The whole thing is very laid-back and enjoyable. Just a small amount of action, some laughs, and a whole lot of good feelings are what this show delivers, and does it well. Its not your normal isekai, its a farming show, which sounds boring, but it works. If you want a big complex storyline and tons of character development, this may not be your show. I like all that, and found i really didn't care that all of that was missing from this one. The story is super simple. I mean it really couldn't be simpler. And... See full review
So let's break down Misfit here. The storyline here started out a bit simplistic at the beginning, however it grew into a decent series of plot twists that ended up making it quite interesting. This is one of the few times I am reading the novel after seeing the anime, so I have no clue if it follows, but I don't really care, as I have stated in the past, I view anime and Manga as separate entities. Once you hit the end, so see that the clues were there, which made the story pretty straight forward, but still quite entertaining. The MC is OP, but then so are some of the foes. ... See full review
So here we go with another anime in the isekai genre. We got an OP MC and a duo of girls instead of a harem, and it was all done pretty well. Nuts and bolts wise the animation was good, the music was nice, and the volume levels were steady 95% of the time. The storyline was a little different than most in this genre. The MC was transported to a different world as a human, not a monster like some on here claim (not sure they actually watched the show before taking to their whining). The goddess of the world is basically an ass, and because the MC is not a hunk she denies him the... See full review
Alright, normally I like anime in this genre. I thought it was a cool twist that the MC wasn't the OP one, and that it frustrated him so that his mom was. However, the general story wasn't all that great. The characters were not very deep, and I really didn't like any besides the mom. And the fact that the harem aspect, and pretty much the whole show pushed his mother as harem member #1 was a bit too much, even if the MC didn't want it that way. I also found certain episodes so boring that i kept falling asleep, which is not normal at all. Nuts and bolts was the animation was... See full review
Let me start by saying this may be some of the best character development for an MC i have seen in a while. But that is where my praise stops. The story was only ok, and was pretty twisted, with way too much potty humor, which I felt detracted from what seemed like a good idea decent idea. The show started pretty slow, and though the action picked up, the theme never really got much better. Animation wise it was done well. The music was a tad annoying, and the audio volume levels fluctuated a bit too much for my liking. It not the worst thing I have seen, but is definitely not at... See full review
I am going to start by saying this particular anime is not my cup of tea. I liked the idea of anti-isekai kind of thing, but then the show spun more towards a horror like show which I dont enjoy, as the story is a bit too psychotic for me. I did like the characters more or less. But despite my dislike of the show, I can still say it was skillfully done. Nuts and bolts wise, the animation, music, and audio levels are good. So if you like sadistic storylines, with lots of evil twists, then you might like it far more than I did.
See full reviewAlright, first things first, I read the Manga and loved it. This is not the Manga. I watched the show and greatly enjoyed it too, because I always treat Manga and anime as separate entities, and so often one doesn't follow the other. I am hitting my nuts and bolts portion first because this is where my complaints arise. The music fits the show. The audio is pretty steady most of the time except when they have dialog during the battle scenes. The speaking is low and the battle volume is high. My biggest issue is the animation. Not top tier animation by far. ... See full review
As kingdom building shows go, this has to be the most comical i have found yet. Its pretty funny all the way through. The title is a bit misleading. Yes I would call the MC a schemer more so than a genius, but most of what he accomplishes is due to dumb luck. Character wise I think they did a good job. The MC walks that line between lazy do-nothing and serious quite well. You can also see his genuine care for those he holds dear. His attendant is on the colder side, which makes sense since she of a race of people traditionally treated worse than trash. But you can... See full review
Now while this may not have been the best show, it doesn't deserve all the hate it gets in the reviews. The story was not the greatest and the conclusion is only so-so, but it did have its merit. The mc was not the best, but he showed intelligence, and true caring for his friends. And I don't know where these people got the idea there was "over the top fanservice". It was actually quite tame compared to some of the shows in this release period. Plus his two lady friends were pretty good characters in their own right. Side note, the animation itself, the music, and the... See full review
So I read a bunch of the reviews prior to watching. Folks keep comparing it to Healer, and no its not really the same. I also find that most of the negative reviews are from people who seem like they don't like isekai or harem shows, and since that is what this is advertised as, i cannot understand why they would watch unless it was so they could trash it and have something to complain about. Dont like this style show, then why did you bother to watch it? I dont care much for the horror genre, so I dont watch it. I dont feel a need to watch, then trash talk, because I knew I... Ok, I am writing this review from the point of view of the intended audience, kids 7 to 12 or so. I will give my personal review at the end. Its pretty obvious from the over-narration, more simplistic anime, easy storyline of "humans good... demons bad" shows you that its a kids anime, so I let my younger niece and nephew watch it, then gaged this review from them. They actually enjoyed the show quite a bit, and had no problem following along, due the simplication provided and the constant narration. They thought the characters were cute and fun. But even they would say... See full review
I really enjoy this series, its ovas, movies, and even Sword Orratorio. I was excited to see where the 4th season went. And I am aware they split this season into 2 parts. However the story telling in part 1 is pretty sparse. Aside from our hero meeting a new monster girl and a glimpse into the past if the blonde elf, this whole part of the season is just fight, fight, fight... and pretty much nothing else. Not that it is bad to have all the action, as it gives some secondary characters a chance to shine some, but still. And leaves you hanging... big time. I... See full review
This series is a primary example of why I try to judge the anime and their related Manga separately. Having read the Manga I understand why fans of it might be disappointed with portions of the show and how rushed certain parts were. However, if you ignore the Manga and treat this as a separate entity, it is a perfectly good show. But if you can't separate the two, then this might not be you cup of tea if you loved the Manga. That said, the story here is a pretty simple isekai, that has some action, but leans more towards a slice of life series. The animation is good as is the... See full review
I really enjoyed the main series. Unfortunately, as with many specials, this was a disappointment. It was sort and pretty much not worth the time.
See full reviewI love Bleach. It has always been that show that gets your blood pumping. From the action to the music, it is all designed to excite. The story isn't always the best at times, and sometimes it is, and truthfully we can say that for all series that run as long as Bleach has. (Yes I am even talking about DragonBall, One Piece, Naruto, etc) But Bleach, like those, is still a great show. I was so looking forward to this, and was not disappointed. This stretch with the Blood War is no different. Same great show. Glad we finally get some info into his mother with... See full review
