(about your comment on Akita Sohma) I agree, but (manga spoilers) her father instilled the idea that she was a God of the zodiacs. She was told that she was basically God to the Sohmas, that gave her unwavering confidence, and an ego so big that she genuinely thought she was better and that she could do whatever she wanted. Yes the other kids were all relatively abused in some way, but while the zodiac bearers were told that they were nothing and useless and unloved, Akita was told that she was above anyone, from the moment she was born it's all she really knew. It would have been more surprising for it to not have been that way. The idea that she owned the Sohma's is all she ever knew, and she thought Tohru was evil from stealing them from her. The idea that they are their own people isn't something that she was taught, she just assumed they were hers to manipulate, and was never really told otherwise. Her personality was crafted by her father, he turned her into a narcissistic manipulator who uses people who is cruel.
while she seems irredeemable, it's mostly due to her father, as he is the one who caused this believe, that said, when she becomes an adult, she needs to take responsibility for what she's done, and while I can't recall exactly if she ever paid the price, she did eventually understand that she and her father were wrong, and she let the Sohma's go.
I don't forgive Akito for what she did, but I can't hate her for her mindset. If I grew up being told I was a God, I'm sure I would have had the same personality and behaviour.
I have a harder time disliking characters if I know their past because I can usually tell where they're coming from. I know Akito's past, and even if she isn't a decent human being, I think she made the right choice in the end. That's why I don't hate her.

Yeah Goodreads does it better when blocking our spoilers when it comes to manga or at book in general, same for IMDB with anime. Whereas with MAL and here, all you do is put the "Spoilers" tag on your comment but you're still worried though if you spoiled it for people at the same time time lol
