Attack on Titan: No Regrets

Jul 3, 2021

Story: It was very interesting to know where Levi came from and how he got involved with Erwin. Unfortunantly, it was a little too short.  Animation: Animation is good like all of the other AoT animes. Sound: The sound it excellent and I really love the music, especially of the opening theme. It is very martial and sounds exactly like the type a music that would be composed to fire up a military organization. Characters: Really liked the characters, and as I said before it was very interesting to see more background about Levi.  Overall: A good and intresting look into... See full review

Summer Wars

Jul 3, 2021

Story: The story was interesting and flowed well. In my opinon it went on a little too long though. But still, it kept me interested so that is a good thing. Animation: I both liked and disliked  the animation. The animation of the real world was nice and I enjoyed it. The virtual world animation was not really fitting in what the world supposedly was. The art in there was weird at best and in many cases downright creepy. Keep in mind that this isn't just a fantasy virtual world, it is also supposedly used by governments and businesses. Sound: I honestly don't even remember if there was... See full review

Jujutsu Kaisen

May 30, 2021

Story: This had a pretty interesting story. Pretty much a shadow school of sorcerers who fight curses, which are pretty much monsters, but not physical apparently. The main character, through certain events, ends up in the school. I though the story flowed pretty well and there weren't really any slow points or filler episodes. Animation: The animation was pretty good. The fight scenes looked good and the character design was nice. Sound: I really didn't care for the background music or the opening and closing songs. They did do well with the voice acting and the voices of the... See full review

Sound! Euphonium

Apr 18, 2021

Story: I really enjoyed the story of this anime. There is just something relaxing about watching an anime about a school music group. Of course it did contain the usual thing of the group not knowing if they could win the competitions, but their teacher says he beleives in them, so they manage to win. But, hey let's admit it, that's what we like to watch! This reminded me alot of K-On!, which makes sense since it was the same production studio. Animation: The animation was nice and cleaan and every member of a rather large group is different. Sound: The sound is amazing as it should be in a anime... See full review

Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories 8th Season

Apr 5, 2021

Story: I was pretty disappointed (again) with the stories in this season of Yamishibai. There was one that made my skin crawl, like most of season one's stories, and two that were mildly creepy. The rest were not scary or creepy and in several cases, were confusing or didn't make sense. It is just a little disappointing, because after the first 3 seasons this series has unfortunantly just gone downhill. Animation: I actually don't mind the minimulist animation of this series. The problem with this season was that most of the episodes were too bright and clear. It doesn't seem to fit well with the... See full review

3D Onara Gorou ga Dance Dance Dance!!

Feb 13, 2021

Story:  There is no story . . . Animation; It's OK. Nothing really to say about it, just a blob thing bouncing around. Sound: The song was pretty fun and catchy. Characters: It's a gas blob, not much more can be said. Overall: Thankfully it was super short.

Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories 5th Season

Jan 13, 2021

Story: Basically 13 short little stories based on Japanese urban legends or myths. In my opinion season 5 is just short of being as good as season 1. The difference is so small that I still rate both as 3.5. Most of the stories seemed to focus on ghosts, which to me is extra scary. They brought the original Story Teller back, so that is awesome. The opening scene is still in the park, but the children are faceless now, there are a lot more of them, and to me they seem to move like zombies. Animation: The animation is still good, and they have an grainy effect, with black spots popping in and out, like an... See full review

Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories 4th Season

Jan 9, 2021

Story: Basically 13 short little stories based on Japanese urban legends or myths. In my opinon, this season is the weakest of all the seasons so far. In season 1, every episode was scary, creepy and/or disturbing. Season 2 was a little scary, and season 3 was mostly just disturbing. In this season, only like 2 episodes actually scared me, mostly because I over think things sometime, so it wasn't really the episode that scared me, but my further thoughts on it. Main point is that I scare really easily, but most of these episodes did nothing in the scare factor.  Also most of the episodes... See full review

Ai Yori Aoshi

Jan 8, 2021

Story: I enjoy the story for Ai Yori Aoshi. Basically, a young girl from a rich family is betrothed to a young man from a rich family. She likes him a lot even at such a young age, but he eventually disappears from his family. She goes to try and find him and ends up succeeding. They end up living together in a large house and many of their friends also end up living there. Of course, that are all girls and they all fall for the main male protagonist. The show basically follows their daily lives and the growth of Kaoru's and Aoi's relationship. Animation: The animation is nice and bright. I think it... See full review

Dr. Stone

Jan 3, 2021

Story: All of humanity is petrified by a strange event. Eventually Senku, who is a scientific genius, and his friend somehow break out of the petrification thousands of years later. Senku's goal is the resurrect the modern world. His friend's goal is to unpetrify the girl he was about to confess to. Along they way, they unpetrify a person who's goals are opposite of theirs, so that causes the creation of the main antagonist. The story then follows Senku trying to acheive his goal. The story does start out kind of slow too. I liked the 1st episode, but I really did not get into it until about... See full review

Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories 3rd Season

Jan 3, 2021

Story: Basically 13 short little stories based on Japanese urban legends or myths. In my opinon, this season is not as good as season 1, but better than season 2. In season 1, every episode was scary, creepy and/or disturbing. This season was just weird. A few creepy/scary episodes, but most were just gross and/or wierd. Also, in most of them it seems like it's a girl or young woman that is the victim, not sure if that has any significance. The Story Teller is replaced by a young boy drawing while singing a creepy song. The theme of this season seems to be "body horror", which to me... See full review

Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories 2nd Season

Jan 2, 2021

Story: Basically 13 short little stories based on Japanese urban legends or myths. In my opinion, this season is not as good as season 1. In season 1, every episode was scary, creepy and/or disturbing. This season 2 has only a few episodes that fill those criteria. Most of the episodes are just strange and/or make no sense. Still there were those few episodes that make me want to go on to watch the 3rd season. Just as a point of interest, in this season the narrator is in an amusement park instead of a playground. Animation: The animation is the same as in the 1st season. It is still done well... See full review

Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories

Jan 2, 2021

Story: Basically 13 short little stories based on Japanese urban legends or myths. All of them were interesting and in my opinion, done well. Every story is at the very least, creepy (some were dowright scary), and it had me hooked from the first episode. Animation: At first this was a sticking point to me. The animation was extremely basic, but after a few episodes it grew on me and actually it fits very well with the athstetic of the show. The animation is based off of the Japanese paper theatre story tellers. It is done well for what it is trying to do. Sound: The sound is done very well and adds to... See full review

Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!

Jan 2, 2021

Story: Pretty simple story. Hana Uzaki ends up in the same college of her senpai from the high school swim team. After watching him basically just live for a year, she decides that he is a pathetic loner and decides that she will hang out with him, whether he likes it or not! It's pretty much just a slice of life comedy following Hana inserting herself into Shinichi's life. It's pretty fun, nothing that requires too much thinking, just basically the growth of their relationship. Animation: The animation was done well, nothing else really to say about it. Sound: The sound was done well. I... See full review

The Day I Became a God

Dec 27, 2020

Story:      To me the story is interesting because it starts out really strange with a girl dressed in a nun outfit running out of nowhere to the main character, and claming to be a god, and that the world will end in 30 days. It then morphs into a slice of life anime, although in a strange way because of the powers of the strange girl.       Eventually I did pick up for the most part on what was going on because of clues that were dropped, even though my guess was not completely right. I have to admit I really wasn't prepared for what happened in the last few episodes... See full review

Iwakakeru! Sport Climbing Girls

Dec 27, 2020

Story:      Kasahara Konomi ends up in a high school, after apparently not doing so well in middle school due to at least semi-professional levels of puzzle gaming. While wandering around trying to decide what club to join, she stumbles into the sports climbing club, gets interested, joins and almost instantly ends up in a tournament. I don't watch many sports animes, but this seems like a strange sport to focus on, but maybe that is just me. Konomi, of course, ends up doing really well, even up to the point of disheartening some of her opponents (who have been climbing for years in some... See full review

Samurai Harem: Asu no Yoichi

Dec 21, 2020

Story:      Typical harem anime, guy shows up in a place (in this case a dojo) that for the most part is filled with girls and they all end up falling for him.      Yoichi Karasuma has lived in the mountains his whole life, but is sent into the city by his father. Of course, he is going to stay in a dojo where 4 girls live. It is pretty amusing most of the time.  Animation:      Animation is done pretty well. It looks good and things seem to fit well. Sound:      I enjoyed the opening and closing themes. Characters:    ... See full review

Dagashi Kashi

Dec 21, 2020

Story:      The story starts out making sense. But, then, they seem to forget about what is going on until near the end of the season. Of course, there is just a good chance that I missed something. There wad never an episode that was boring to me, so, I would say that it did it's job. Animation:      The animation looked good to me. Nice, crisp and each character had a distinctive look to them. Sound:      Can't think of anything to say about the sounds work. It was not bad, but didn't really cause me to notice it either. Characters:    ... See full review

Bunny Drop

Dec 21, 2020

Story:      A single man attends his grandfather's funeral, and finds to his shock, that his grandfather has a young daughter. None of the family wants to take care of her, so he gets angry and decides that he will care for her. This is the start of their life together and the story follows their growth and learning how to live with each other. My only "complaint" would be that I wish it was longer, but it's possible that if it was longer, then it would be too long. Animation:      Very good animation, often brings into mind, watercolors or perhaps crayon... See full review

Dec 21, 2020

Story:      A young girls moves to Tokyo to live with her aunt, and on the way gets involved in a new sport that is gripping the nation. This journey chronicles her journey through this new world that she has discovered. I personally enjoyed the story, especially the ending. Animation:      Animation is nice. To me the style fits what this anime is supposed to be. Sound:      The music is nice, I enjoy both the opening and closing themes. The Japanese voice acting is done very well. I have not heard the dub, so i can't say anything about... See full review
