So first of all,i enjoyed watching charlotte but still,it had so many aspects into it that reflect the bad writing and that's what i'm focusing on here:
The main character was first shown as a somewhat interesting middle school kid with powers to control other people's bodies for 5 seconds, this power made him a manipulative person who used others for his own gain. That was the most interesting character trait he had because after the first episode he turned into your typical generic MC who has a strong power but he's too dumb to make a good use out of it which is really disappointing. I expected Yuu to be on the level of Yagami Light or at least half as smart but getting through the episodes shows that he's the total opposite, and it got even worse after his sister's death which turned him into an emo. After the main plot of the series reveals itself Yuu keeps being the useless character that he was before,he had telekinesis, stealing others powers, flying and literally travel through time yet he got beaten up by a bunch of terrorists with no power and a kid with a knife, and to make things worse he went worldwide to catch other powers and one of those powers was the healing ability,so instead of using it to fix his eye he didn't do anything and almost died
honestly the last episodes were really rushed and some elements that ended in few moments could have been developed for an entire season if the show had good writing
i wouldn't say that the anime was necessarily bad,it was just disappointing because all the important elements to make a masterpiece were there but the lack of a good writer made them useless
