  Death Note is not the kind of anime that you will find every day.  It gives itself time to fully develop the characters of the series (Most of which, let's be honest, cause some serious fangirling).  The plot is well thought out, intriguing, and over all, intelligent. It can be easily said that Death Note is one of the greatest animes of all time (And my own personal favorite).   The only down side to the series is the killing off of a major charcter (my favorite, as a matter of fact).  Be warned if you're the serious fangirl/fanboy type--This scene will bring on the tears.
