Yeah, people generally react with fear and hatred to things that they perceive as dangerous and different. I loved what I read of Angel Sanctuary, also the sinfully short OVA. It is really weird. I need to get the rest of the manga so I can finish it.

How funny, I bought the first volumes of all three of those series. I do love Kaori Yuki's art- I've read a decent amount of Angel Sanctuary and some of Grand Guignol Orchestra, so I know I'll like Demon from Afar. I watched the two-episode ova for Dogs Bullets and Carnage and instantly wanted more. Devil's Line is the only one that I don't think I'll continue, because the relationship was a bit creepy to me, and the setting is pretty depressing.

I love Clamp's darker stuff like Tokyo Babylon and X, and I also really enjoy Pandora Hearts. I like Mushishi and Natsume's Book of Friends too although I haven't read too much of them. I watch a wide variety of anime genres, but when it comes to manga, the art has to really be beautiful to me in order to spend the time on it, and the story has to be interesting enough to keep my attention- this basically translates to supernatural stories, because I'm a total sucker for them. There's a supernatural manga that hasn't been translated officially called Hyakki Yakoushou that I very much enjoy reading. I was considering checking out "Until Death Do Us Part" but hadn't got round to it with all the other series I'm reading.

I've watched a few Asian dramas- they're pretty cool. The costumes in the Chinese and Korean period dramas are so gorgeous. I've gotten kind of spoiled on how short most anime shows are though- sticking with a drama through multiple seasons is kind of challenging, lol. I collect manga too, but it's really hard for me to collect just one series at a time, so I have volumes from 50 different series instead. Some of them are complete, at least. What's some of your favorites? (and yes, I do read some shonen-ai).
