Kaguya-sama: Love is War? is a fantastic sequel to the breakout first season. If season 1 was the definition of overthinking, then this was the definition of romantic struggles. There's less "war" this time around and instead the focus is on Shinomiya and Shirogane's true feelings for each other.

The comedy mostly lands, and the other two members of the council are better here than they were before, as Ishigami in particular didn't get enough development last season, but they more than made up for that this time around. Some other returning faces were great to see, as well as the addition of Miko. who isn't particularly interesting or compelling, but something tells me we'll see more of her in season 3.

The animation is wonderfully creative, with the manga scenes in particular being a highlight. The OP isn't as funky as the first, but is still great nonetheless.

Finally, the story is more focused, with the attention being on each of the student council members and their internal struggles, espcially Ishigami and Shinomiya. Not as many weird filler segments this time either, which is an improvement of the first season.

Overall, it's so entertaining and funny and heartfelt that you can't help but anxiously wait for more. Bring on Season 3!
