Each day, I send out via email an updated Assignment sheet (or you can click on the Google document link at any time to view current assignments). I assign specific names to each Greeter. This way, I can be sure each new member has a Greeter assigned to greet them so every new member receives a welcome from a WECO Greeter.

A typical Greeter starts off welcoming 10 names/day, 5 days a week (two days off during the week, usually assigned based on User name. Your user name of casandra29 would give you Mondays and Wednesdays off.) This amounts to about 10 minutes per day of time - doing welcomes and responding to comments left for you by members you welcomed. However, schedules can be customized to adjust the maximum number of welcomes per day you do, and number of days you greet members. Minimum commitment is 5 names per day, 1 day a week.

Feel free to let me know your availability - I have Greeters willing to do 100 names per day every day, and others that do the minimum, 5 names one day a week. And once you have a schedule, it can be adjusted whenever circumstances change and you need to revise it. Just drop me a note to let me know the changes needed.

The site's creator (sothis) says:"It's closed due to the overwhelming amount of (uncontrollable to stop/ban) spambots flooded the forum in the past few weeks. I'll likely open it back up agian to see if the bot/scripts got bored, but if we continue to be overwhelmed, it'll have to be turned back off for now"

They do plan to open up User submissions again for the character and manga entries, but they are currently in progress on a big update project the moderators for each section are working on, and I think they want to finish their project first before they reopen the submissions to regular members again, since the mods also review all member submissions before they go live onto the site and the mods have trouble finding time to do both the project and reviewing User submissions... so no ETA when user submissions will be allowed again, but it should happen again in the future.
I have an account on booksie.com which promotes posting work you want to eventually get published. But my sister made me realize that it is pretty risky. It would be really easy for people to steal your work.
Ah, then I can see why you wouldn't read a lot of yaoi. Yuri manga usually have nice artwork, but yaoi can be plain ugly to look at sometimes.
Really? I had never heard of places doing that before. As for my situation, my dad made pretty good money, so I didn't exactly grow up poor. But my dad died seven years ago, and ever since my mom has barely been covering her bills. Because of that, I am completely on my own to pay for college. Thankfully, I'm living with my sister and she helped me get through the summer when I literally ran out of money. But my sister also isn't helping me fully, since she wants to eat really healthy food now which is more expensive. She pays for half while I pay for the other.
You should do that. If I know the fandom I will read them :). I feel more motivated to write myself. I'm kind of in this struggle deciding what to spend my time on anymore.
It always makes me sad that many people don't know about ao3, because it is so much better than ff in many ways. The main reason it is better is that it is actually run by fans instead of a corporation. I've never used Wattpad, though I have heard that it has fanfic. Is it similar to livejournal?
Ah. My extended family is a bunch of conservatives, so I feel really out of place and on my toes. I hid the fact that I liked anime from them until I turned 18, and immediately my mom got phone calls asking if I was an idol worshiper. Because apparently that's what liking anime means X.X. This year I really just worried that they were judging me for my mom's overreactive behavior.
Nope. I have never been out on Black Friday even once. The idea scares me actually. Of course, I also never have money to spend. I know that the deals are good, but that would be even more reason why I shouldn't go out and be tempted to buy a lot of things. Christmas is honestly sneaking up on me this year.
I loved Devil is a Part-Timer. It was so funny that he thought he could take over the world through McDonald's.
I wonder if that is a work in progress. The personalized anime recs on your page is actually one of the newest features added to the site. If you would like to make specific feature requests you can do so in the forum (it is under the community tab).
I could try giving you some manga recs if you would like. I've haven't read that many besides yaoi and ones with anime counterparts, though.
OMG. The Third-Eyed Blindness story is a hoot, but my sister and I never find the time to sit down and write it together. Since I don't know when we will ever continue, I'll just tell you, everyone gets drunk fromt he punch, and of course, chaos ensues. We also have one planned where Vegeta and Goku get stranded in America and can't speaked English.
No problem, and I'm glad you liked them :). You should definitely think about joining the site, though. Also, if you don't already have one, another good site to check out is backloggery.com. It is similar to this site but for tracking your video games.
