Hey! My name is Peter. I live in Poland and I got addicted to anime relatively recently.

I watched my first show when I was pretty young ( I think it was the Tenchi Muyo series), but I've gotten really into it in about 2015/2016. Since then about half of my free time has been either catching up with what's popular or rummaging through old series in search of a good find.

While there isn't any particular genre that I consciously look for I tend to like comedy and romance shows or series that are *really* weird and/or goofy. I also enjoy shows about art and artistic endeavor.

Since I'm in my thirties I tend to like anime featuring adult protagonists, but younger characters aren't a dealbreaker for me.

I'm interested in storytelling and visual media so I try to make a review from time to time to hone my abilities to appreciate the shows on a little deeper level. I'm no pro though and I don't pretend that I am.

I also like to make and update my anime lists, since I've found lots of good shows through other people's ones and would like to give back to the community (however dumbly profound that sounds).

If I were to suggest a series in order to get my tastes I'd pick

1. for the romance anime: Toradora!, Gosick, Teasing Master Takagi-San, Wotakoi: Life is Hard for Otaku and ReLife

2. for the slice of life anime: Barakamon, Planetes, WATAMOTE - No Matter How I Look At It, It's You Guy's Fault I'm Unpopular, Welcome to the NHK!

3. for the comedy anime: KonoSuba - God's blessing on this wonderful world!!! and Hinamatsuri

4. for the 'cool' anime: Cowboy Bebop, Black Lagoon, Samurai Champloo

5. for the shows about art and artistic endeavor: Nodame Cantabile, Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu, Welcome to the Ballroom and Bakuman

6. for the battle/shonen anime: One Punch Man and Mob Psycho 100 (I like My Hero Academia too, but it didn't blow me off my feet)

7. for the Weird but Great anime: Arakawa Under the Bridge, FLCL and Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei

In terms of characters I like and dislike, I generally gravitate towards down to earth, intelligent, cynical and sarcastic ones, hopefully with as much sense of humor as possible and dislike most that have any kind of uber plans, missions send by gods and are pretentious/self-important.

Anyway nice meeting anyone nice enough to visit and I hope the reviews/lists/whatever You're here for will be worth Your time :-)

Excellent. I actually feel I've done good with scouting the shows I've been meaning to watch. Quite a few of your recommendations have been on my list for a while, I just need to find the time to sit down and watch them. Currently still working my way through Cowboy Bebop and I was thinking of following it up with Paranoia Agent, Yozakura Quartet, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei or Katanagatari. I expect these shows all to be top notch so I'll be trying to fit something that people in the community have been suggesting in the between the shows I mentioned earlier.

Glasslip, Saekano, After the Rain, Just Because!, Occultic;Nine, the melancholy of haruhi suzumiya and Higurashi no Naku Koro ni have been recommended so far by the community but a lot of that has to do with Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai. Looks like I have to watch the melancholy of haruhi suzumiya since that's the one they've been teasing me about the most. Lot of similar story developments from what I've gathered.

Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu looks very interesting. I've had this added to my list for a while and have been very curious about the show. Not quite sure where I saw this being mentioned but I saw the concept of it and I liked it a lot. I'll be watching this as soon as possible.

Ohhhhh, Planetes looks very interesting too. Seems like a cool unique concept. Never heard about this one before but this looks very promising. Adding this to the list for sure!

Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku I’ve heard about and I’ve also seen a few clips. I wasn’t sure if this was going to compete with some of the other shows in the genre but if you’re recommending it then I’ll be surely to check it out. Nodame Cantabile I’ll be checking out for sure, pretty impressed by the stuff coming from J.C.Staff but I do feel there is a lot to go through which won’t always seem to be my cup of tea so thanks for this recommendation.

Never heard of ReLIFE either but I’m guessing this falls under the same genre as Welcome to the NHK! So adding this one but I’ll probably save it for a rainy sunday afternoon.

Hataraki Man looks promising too. Seems to be my kind of woman. How did you come up with this one? Reading this reminds me of one of my favorite characters, Shizuka Hiratsuka from My Teen Romantic Comedy and at first glance the artstyle reminds me of My Love Story!! Looking forward to this one.

Bakuman already had me interested by just the art style alone, that’s one I’ve had added for a while.

Excellent list of recommendations. I appreciate the work you’ve put into it.

You left me a cool little list on my page and I really appreciate it.

"Hm ... It's hard to pinpoint what you like and dislike based on the list ... "

I've only really started watching Anime the last 7-8 months and I myself find it hard to pinpoint what I actually really like. At the moment it's definitely certain studios, character designers and directors that keep grabbing my attention. That list is slowly growing. I originally started watching for just the art, probably started with some of the best shows around and now I'm working my way through whatever seems to tickle my art spidey sense. I try to understand why I'm watching something and why other people find certain other shows interesting.

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, arakawa under the bridge and Youjo Senki: Saga of Tanya the Evil were all on the list. Either through recommendations from friends or just because I can already tell their art direction will be similar to the Monogatari series.

Welcome to NHK! I watched and I was quite fascinated by. I loved the characters, the way they went about their situations and the creepy undertone of needing each other to help them feel better about themselves. Quite an impactful show since I'm a 39 year old web developer that doesn't really need to leave the house all to much. I've always had an interest in the lifestyle and mindset of a Neet and I feel this show did a good job giving me some insight on that situation. I love characters like Misaki who are nice people but still secretly have this very dark thing about them. Good recommendation.

Welcome to the Ballroom has been mentioned to me a few times but I haven't looked into it too much yet, I'll be sure to check it out. you're hitting all the keywords that make me interested in a show.

If you got more, I’m definitely keen to hear them!

Hi! Thanks again for the romance list you made! I saw 5 centimeters per second on your want-to-watch list. This anime is, in my opinion, just as good as Your Name, which you also need to check out. Oh, and the Studio Ghibli movies are amazing. I liked Laputa the most, but the difference is small. See you around!

Yes!! A fellow anime enthusiast who also does not like Light Yagami. Soooo glad to see another like me. High five. He always seemed more like a villain to me. Much prefer Ryuk.

Also, loved your review for Banana Fish. You spent time on it and it's appreciated. I'm really enjoying watching it thus far. I had a bit of trouble at the start just because issues that can trigger, but I do really think they've handled it well.
