Me  Me Cosplay

My name is Brian McAfee.  I've been watching and collecting Anime since 1988.  Married, with a 16 year old daughter, who is also a huge anime fan.  On the weekends I re-create the middle ages with the Society for Creative Anachronism.  I also spend hours on end reproducing medieval armor.  I'm currently nearing the end of a career in the US Air Force, stationed in Georgia.  Hopefully, once I finish with the Air Force, I can turn my anime and history hobbies into something that actually generates income, instead of consuming it.

Thanks a lot for the feedback! ^^ Seriously, very much appreciated.

I could've written pages upon pages about the ending but I was trying my best to try and keep it short. But hey, this ain't a review so I can expand a lil bit.

It's not so much that I feel the twist and change for Homura wasn't foreshadowed well enough, it was more to do with the execution. I mentioned earlier about how the change will make sense when you actually consider Homura's character but the way it was sprung on the viewer felt more like the films writers' saying to the audience "Weren't expecting THAT, were you?" than actually showing more of Homura's progession into this change. Instead it was more focused on her regret that her wish couldn't come true and the despair of that turning her into the witch. Now, you could say that WAS the foreshadowing for her decision and it was, to some extent. I just fell a direct scene showing her coming to this conclusion (and not implied like in the daisy scene, which is more of a "blink and you'll miss it" moment that requires rewatching after the movie) rather than a random moment of springing it on the viewer would've made the film flow a little better. But then again, it also wouldn't have been as shocking so opt for whichever you feel is better I guess.

However, despite what I say, I am geniunely exicted to see how the writers will continue this, as I still stick by the fact that having Homura become the antithesis to Madoka out of love for her and becoming her enemy one day is an interesting one.

Again, thanks a lot for the feedback! I'm trying to rewrite some old reviews from my old account and a few new ones so we'll see how that goes. Currently trying to write for both Garden of Words and Yurikuma Arashi so those should be up soon enough. x
