Top 100 Anime

My, personal, top 100 anime. A bit nostalgia weighted. ;)
1 Cardcaptor Sakura

Cardcaptor Sakura

My personal favorite.  :)  It's the reason I got into anime.  I also love all the subplots and underlying themes.

2 JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (2012)

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (2012)

For all the Jojo's content, not just one season.

3 Slayers

For all the Slayers content including the OVAs and Movies as well as Revolution and Evolution-R.

4 Durarara!!

For all of the seasons and specials, not just season one.

5 Neon Genesis Evangelion

Neon Genesis Evangelion

For all the iterations and retellings including the Rebuilds.

6 Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion

Representing both seasons.  :)

7 Akame ga Kill!

Akame ga Kill!

8 Toradora!

9 Love Live! School Idol Project

Love Live! School Idol Project

Representing all seasons of Love Lives and the previews.

10 Parasyte -the maxim-

Parasyte -the maxim-

11 Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

And only FMA Brotherhood, not the original series.

12 A Lull in the Sea

A Lull in the Sea

13 Angel Beats!

Angel Beats!

14 Future Diary

Future Diary

15 Golden Time

Golden Time

16 Another

17 Gosick

18 Hourou Musuko

Hourou Musuko

This may seem like an odd pick.  I have this one ranked so high because of the originality, art style, and the tactful way the series addressed sensitive topics with maturity and respect.

19 Elfen Lied

Elfen Lied

20 Pokemon: The Origin

Pokemon: The Origin

21 Cromartie High School

Cromartie High School

22 Guilty Crown

Guilty Crown

23 Princess Tutu

Princess Tutu

24 Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu

Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu

For all of the seasons, but mostly for Fumoffu.  I may have ranked this higher had the first season been better paced.

25 School Days

School Days

26 Death Note

Death Note

28 Read Or Die TV

Read Or Die TV

The movie can be included here as well, even though it's an alternate telling.  Both had their pros and cons but I prefer the character development of the series to the theatrical version.

29 Kids on the Slope

Kids on the Slope

30 Demon King Daimao

Demon King Daimao

31 Your lie in April

Your lie in April

32 Spice and Wolf

Spice and Wolf

For all the seasons and OVAs of Spice and Wolf.

33 Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day

Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day

34 Tsuritama

An unexpectedly good, short watch.

35 Baka and Test - Summon the Beasts 2

Baka and Test - Summon the Beasts 2

The second season was, by far, my favorite of the series.  But, all the seasons definitely belong this high on my list.

36 Denki-Gai

Another oddball but it hits home for me.  I may as well be Senpai.  T_T  I loved this series and would have ranked it higher had more themes been resolved at the end.

37 White Album

White Album

There's something to be said for a modern anime that is animated to reflect the style of the year the anime is set in.  Definitely represents both the first and second seasons, although the first is still my favorite.

38 Magimoji Rurumo

Magimoji Rurumo

Another oddball.  I was really surprised I liked this as much as I did.  It's a sleeper title for sure and definitely worth watching.

39 When They Cry: Higurashi

When They Cry: Higurashi

For the entire Higurashi series.  I would have ranked it higher but the animation errors really irk me.

40 Puella Magi Madoka Magica

Puella Magi Madoka Magica

I know this is a fan favorite and many people think that 40 is way too low for Madoka.  I loved the series, but getting into moe isn't easy for me.  I wasn't crazy about the art style and drab color scheme.  Loved it once it got going.

41 Angelic Layer

Angelic Layer

Surprisingly good, but a little monster of the week to be ranked much higher.  It's a classic through and through and I love the subplots and character development.

42 Tokyo Magnitude 8.0

Tokyo Magnitude 8.0

43 Disgaea

Ranked so high because it had a legit ending.  I honestly didn't expect much going into this and I was pleasently surprised.

44 Tari Tari

Tari Tari

Simple but it rips your heart out, feeds it back to you, and then rips it out again.

45 Love Hina X'mas Special: Silent Eve

Love Hina X'mas Special: Silent Eve

Representing all of Love Hina, but I think the Christmas Special is the defining moment for the entire franchise.  It's one of the best Christmas Specials of any anime I've seen.

Loved the character development.  I thought I was watching just a moe series but there was so much more.

47 Tower of Druaga: the Aegis of Uruk

Tower of Druaga: the Aegis of Uruk

A surprisingly funny and thrilling anime.  Representing the whole series, not just the first season.

48 Tonari no Seki-kun: The Master of Killing Time

Tonari no Seki-kun: The Master of Killing Time

Incredibly delightful and fun.

49 Umineko: When They Cry

Umineko: When They Cry

50 Waiting in the Summer
